@kosmo86 what an emotional roller coaster that must have been. Good on you for trying so hard and doing what was best for the baby in the end. Shes gorgeoug! @seitzy3 I love your family! I can't wait to have a similar photo with all boys? Maybe? Maybe 2 boys and a girl. So glad you can finally enjoy your family of 5 and that your husband was there!

@RedMar Some manufacturers void their car seat warranty when using after market/non approved accessories with the car seat. I know Chicco does... I emailed our manufacturer (Nuna) and they said the car seat protector was fine. I second that article provided by @PSUBecky23 & to get your installation inspected by a certified tech: https://www.safercar.gov/cpsApp/cps/index.htm
@AnnaS930 Gah, that stinks. I hope there are some awesome-o Labor Day deals for electronics. Hang in there, baby is still a-cooking and will be here in no time. P.S. A DQ blizzard sounds BOMB right now.
My random: LO started stirring at 625a, so I had DH give her the bottle. Over the span of an hour, I was able to pump, vacuum downstairs, replace her swaddles/linens downstairs, throw soiled ones in the wash, unload the dishwasher, wash the bottles, feed the fur babies, and catch up here. Motive? To sneak out to the mall when it opens.
@diagonalley, it's probably normal. Try taking simethicone (gas x). The baby is putting pressure on our intestines now so anything is possible there!! I was majorly constipated and gassy in the first tri, now I can actually go on a regular basis. Which makes no sense BC I started taking iron again. But whatever!!
I too am bitchy and hormonal but try to remind myself I and the baby are healthy and to just get over it. Seeing everyone start having their baby is even making me kind of grouchy BC I'm only 36 weeks tomorrow!! . Last night hubs worked late and I stayed up till he got home BC I had a really busy day and was hoping to make myself extra tired so I could sleep. I've been sleeping about 3-4 hours max a night for the last 3 weeks. When he got home I got all pissy and was like, go take your shower and get all your little electronic devices out of the bedroom so I can sleep!! Every night I just barely make it to sleep and you come in and wake me up by showering or using your phone flashlight or dragging your feet on the floor or not silencing g your phone and it goes off an hour later. He was like....sheez....sorry for needing to get clean after sweating all day or being afraid of stubbingy toe....and got all his stuff and said he would sleep in the guest room. I told him he could still sleep in here but please just be extra quiet, I'm exhausted. He took one look at me in my giant "On Wednesdays we wear pink" tank top and was like....I'm good. Sure enough he slept in the guest room. This morning he came in here but didn't even try to disturb the beast by saying goodbye. But lord I slept 5 hours in a row. I miss sleeeeeeeeppppp!!!!!!
DH is going back to work in a week and a half. I'm having some anxiety about dealing with LO (shell be three weeks old) on my own and having to figure out a new schedule. How do you BTDT moms do it, and sometimes with more than one LO??? Major props.
Does anyone have any idea what they are going to wear pp besides like leggings/ tshirts that will be flattering to the "new" body at that point? I am worried about going out in public and looking decent or even leaving the hospital. I am not a pj or tshirt and shorts in public type of gal and I don't want my exhaustion to make me into one (atleast not in public.) I want to look put together even if I don't feel like it, especially in a time where I may be getting a lot of visitors or when photos will be being taken.
Hope this doesn't sound too vain- Not the intention at all.
I have a few easy-wear dresses that I plan on using for a while. Nothing with zippers or tight sections, but they look a bit more put together than pjs - although, full disclosure, I will totally be rocking my lounge pants at the grocery store until I fit into my jeans again!

Can't speak to more than 1, but my husband only had a week off for Emmett then it was just me and baby. You make a schedule that works, and you put off things that need to be done for when husband gets home. Our early days looked kind of like this:
E would be nursed around 4 or 5am, we'd usually move down to the living room couch for this feeding and I'd turn on the TV. Then he'd snuggle on my chest after nursing and I'd come in and out dozing off until 7 or 8, time for another feeding, after that one I might put him down for a bit to get something to munch. Once he was snoozing again I'd bring his bouncy chair upstairs and take a shower. The rest of the day was moving him between cuddles, his swing, his bouncy chair and his playmat while I alternated between getting very small tasks done and watching TV/staring at the baby.
When my husband would get home I'd have him give Emmett a bottle for his 6pm feed and I'd pump at that time.. that way I had from about 4pm -9pm without needing to breastfeed and it gave me some very much needed, not wanting to be touched time. A lot of the time I'd rest on the couch for a bit knowing I'd be up a few times throughout the night.
Ease up on yourself, make super easy to-do lists and if Monday's tasks get done on Thursday.. so be it.
I also enjoyed getting out for walks (though limited in December), and wearing Emmett as much as I could so I could do some light baking/loading the dishwasher, etc. And I talked to Emmett a LOT throughout the day, just telling him what we were doing in a sing-song sort of way, like "ok Emmett.. here we go, into the kitchen.. time to make a sandwich! Yummy!" which might sound crazy, but his vocab is amazing at 20 months

I think we're having babies at a great time of year...with fall just around the corner I am thinking cute, baggy sweaters and dresses with sweaters. I don't know if I feel like squeezing into leggings, but that could be a cute, comfy choice as well.
Alice Ruth is here. 8lbs 3oz 19 inches long. We are recovering, I had a hard time getting the spinal but we are both okay. She has a head full of hair and looks just like her daddy.
@ansley0319 -- I kept my maternity jeans in the rotation for a while after giving birth. And regular shirts came into use on a case by case basis. But the jeans were key because they made me feel more together, but were still forgiving until I was ready for regular ones.

It doesn't sound vain at all to me. One of my biggest needs during the post-partum time was a shower every morning, and maybe a bit of mascara.. the better I felt about myself the better I could handle the day.
I seem to remember continuing to wear my maternity clothes last time until I could get back into my clothes.. it was like reverse pregnancy.. maternity pants, then a month or so out was pre-pregnancy jeans with a hair elastic to extend the waist, then back into my pre-preg clothes well before returning to work at 10 weeks. This won't be true for everyone and I encourage you to buy a bit of new clothes in the process if needed. Feeling good is so important.. but also know that everyone will look at baby, so you can get away with leggings/tshirts more than ever!
I second @Jabreen. I have a few loose-fitting, but nice enough dresses that I'll wear. The hard thing is that it'll be "sweater weather" here, making dresses difficult to wear without additional layers (like tights) and I don't think I'll be down with wearing tights pp. I plan to be okay with wearing some maternity clothes, until I (hopefully) shrink back into my regular sizes. Like maternity jeans, with forgiving sweaters, jackets, and tops.
I too can't wear PJs in public! Drives me nuts! At home, I'll be living in PJ's though, and likely restricting visitors anyway. No shame in that game.
@VeraMali congratulations, mama! Great hearing things went well although you weren't able to get much sleep last night. Get some rest and enjoy that little girl!
My random. You all probably know how much I've disliked being pregnant, but the last two weeks I actually haven't been hating it. I've started realizing that much of my pregnancy hatred has been associated with the heat, and since it hasn't been that hot here lately (mid to low-70s!), I've actually been less bothered by the pregnancy discomfort. Don't get me wrong, I'm still uncomfortable, my back still aches, I'm still swollen and my joints are creaky as hell, but it's just not THAT bad anymore. Two weeks ago I was all "please let this be over!" And now I'm like "3-4 more weeks? Bring. It. On!"
It's just weird. Pregnancy is just so weird. And I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune in a week or so. (I'm 36+5).
@AnnaS930 I'm right there with you. I hate that I had my doctor check my cervix at 36 weeks. I was 1 cm. Even though I know better, I got a bit excited that maybe all these false contractions and pains were doing something. I was never dilated early with my girls. Fast forward to yesterday's 38 week appt and I'm still at 1 cm and cervix is "thick". Ugh, I got so upset. And rational me knows this means nothing, but man would it have been nice to see some progress. The end of pregnancy is such a head game for me.

I'm there with you. The BH and pains/pressures I was really semi-hopeful would have been productive. It's hard. But we've got this! I kept telling my husband last night "I know it's not rational, but I feel like I will never have this baby." and he obviously kept trying to convince me how crazy it sounded so I was like "yeah.. but let's just say 10 days past due date they'd induce.. doesn't September 16 sound like a long ways away?!?" and he finally had a look of understanding on his face.
Congrats @VeraMali on the birth of Alice! Yay she's finally here! Sorry to hear you had an issue with the spinal. But I'm glad to hear all is well now. Enjoy!
GD is so annoying. All I've craved this pregnancy is pizza and strawberries (not together) and I'm not doing either with GD. But I couldn't take it anymore and did carb counting and realized DH and I could have thin crust pizza, which we love. That was awesome, the first couple of times. Now, all I want is the crappy, thick-crusted, ultra fatty pizza. I could cry. Pizza is love, pizza is life.
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom strawberries are supposed to be really good for diabetes! We can have like a whole cup. I was eating 2lbs a week when they were in season!
But man I feel you about the pizza. All I want is a large stuffed crust pizza from pizza hut and eat it by myself
@Megan324 I've had strawberries a couple times but not as much as before I was diagnosed since all fruit was making my numbers spike and I gave it up. I do eat strawberry ice cream though. Pizza's the one breaking my heart right now... stuffed crust sounds like a dream.
@Sbrown721 I think at this point misplaced eyeliner could definitely be enough for me to stay home sick from work. This morning I couldn't find my keys for a total of maybe 4 minutes and really thought about staying home. Like, really thought about it.
@AnnaS930 Uuuugh, it seems like when it rains it pours with appliance probs. Last year we had a dishwasher and water heater crap out right at once at the same time as a ton of HVAC problems. There was a maintenance person/ installer at our house at least once a week for months. The water heater was crazy, I finally got time to take a bath and left the water running and came back in and the water looked like the room the crazy ghost lady lived in the shining. Blood red. Apparently it rusted out... lame. Anyway, hopefully there will be awesome labor day sales to replace your TV!
My random for today: My feet are super swollen and look gross. I never get pedicures but I can't really reach my toes comfortably anymore and I have chipped nail polish from like a month and a half ago on there. Do you think the ladies will be grossed out giving me a super swollen pedicure?
Omg ladies I have to share that I have been VERY anxiously awaiting my GBS test result for 2 days now. We were going to have to make some really tough calls about whether to continue with the home birth if I was positive I have been so so scared.
Results just came back as negative!!!!!!! Such sweet relief.
I just discovered cookie butter today which is a god send for my sweet tooth! I actually contemplated for a few moments if it would taste any good on my toasted jalapeno bagel. What is wrong with my taste buds?!

I see it at Trader Joe's all of the time and I am so tempted to try it, but I know that it's going to be a "Once you pop, the fun don't stop" situation!
@geminigirl16 - I also see it at Trader Joes.. what do you put it on? And I know the answer might often just be "a spoon" but I can't justify it for just that when I already consume peanut butter and nutella that way.. so I need some ideas of what I would put it on for a snack.. then I'ma get me some!
