Someone just name my kids for me. I'm all over the board. Halp. These girls will be joining big brothers Carter Patrick and Jack Michael. Last name is an S and one syllable. Husband's favorite name is Avery). All suggestions welcomed, especially with middle name pairings. Or thoughts on these ones...
I am too much of a supernatural fan to ever name a child Ruby... I know that's a dumb reason, but there it is! I saw some thing on pinterest the other day, and I think it's true.
So we had a name picked out for each before we got PG this time. Once we found out it was a girl, H wasn't sold on the middle name we had picked. We threw out some ideas but I'd like to get some other ideas.
The first name is definitely going to be Kirsten (pronounced Keer-sten, not Kur-sten)
I like middle names Joy and Grace. H likes Bailey, and I like it as well.
@WinchesterGirl My first daughter is named Esme. 75% of people and 95% of women always ask "oh like from Twilight?" and then I get all nerdlinger on them and say "No, like one of JD Salinger's characters". I've been really really good about being polite about it *until* last year at a soccer game. "GO Esme!" *snort* "mom a big Twilight fan, huh?" "Ha. uh. No." And it was honestly the snottiest I've ever been to a stranger.
That being said we knew it was going to be an issue but loved the name so much we didn't GAF.

I'm dying for my Harmony results so I know the sex of the baby. I'm trying not to agonize over names yet. For girls, I really like names that can be for either sex. And I want it to be short because we have a looooong last name!
Yeah, you guys are starting to make me re-think that name with all the pronunciation issues. We'll see, definitely going to have to ponder that a while.
I love Avery and Quinn! To borrow from my own girls list for MNs - Avery Harper and Quinn Pearl?
we find out LO is a boy on Saturday and yesterday we both agreed the front runner is August James S....no reason for Augusy other then I love it. And James because we stayed in St. James parish in Barbados on our honeymoon.
I love the name Esme and not because of Twilight. It's where I first heard it, but it's not why I fell in love with it if that makes sense. I love names that are not at all common. Esme is a fun cute little girl name that I feel allows it to the grow with the person. My husband is one for traditional names so we've definetely butted heads when it's come to names. He won on going traditional because he wouldn't sign off on any of my fun names (like Esme), Natalie or Jack.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
@Winchester and @peachesnbean this book/ fandom conversation has me laughing out loud! 1st of all I love the name Esme!! And I wouldn't judge you even if it was a Twilight name.
We are leaning towards the name Hermione if it is a girl and I KNOW that everyone I know will think it is because I'm a huge HP fan. Like you peaches, IDGAF. Actually, she'd be named after my great great Aunt who was a suffragette-- she used to sneak out of her house to go protest! I like to think my daughter would be named after two strong, intelligent women who advocate for social justice
We are thinking Elliott for the name. It's both my father's and grandfather's name, so it has a lot of personal family meaning. I also like that (I think) it doesn't lend itself to shortening to a nickname.
We have kind of a theme I guess. Our 2 boys have biblical first names. We have Elijah and Asher. DH likes Esther for a girl and Micah for a boy. I love Micah, but not so much Esther. I would prefer Abigail if we stay with the biblical theme. Also, if we go with Micah for a boy, ninja turtle fan DH wants to use Angelo as a middle name. Um NO!
Ugh guys I am not officially hoping, praying, anything for a girl. It's tradition in my fiancé's family for the son to take the grandmother's maiden name. And he is pretty set on it and is sentimental about it. So our son's middle name would be Willis. I do not like it at alllllll...but would do it because it means that much to him. Weirdly, the girls in the family don't have middle names and then take on their maiden names when they get married as their middle name. So his mom has Willis for her middle name currently. And his sisters all took his last name as their middle when they got married. I dunno where that tradition came from, their all from here - American haha.
@homemake I think Winnie is a sweet name. I mean, I also think of Winnie the Pooh. Would you consider a full name of Gwyneth or Gwendolyn and use Winnie as a nickname?
@homemake I think of Winnie Cooper from that old show, The Wonder Years. Not that that is a bad thing! I think it's a cute name and different without being "too different."
Yeah, you guys are starting to make me re-think that name with all the pronunciation issues. We'll see, definitely going to have to ponder that a while.
FWIW, I knew how you were pronouncing it. Maybe bc I've been watching Power? Lol
Thanks guys. I think if we go for it , it's going to be the name and not a nickname. My main concern is the Winnie the Pooh thing but I think we might put it at the top of the list.
@homemake Same here. I can only think of girl names. But my husband can only think of boy names so I'm not sure where that leaves us. lol. But Winnie is a sweet name and I'm also curious if you're going with straight Winnie or if its a nickname!
As a side note, I'm so sick of people saying that they don't like the names we're considering. I think I'm just going to start telling people that we're keeping the names a secret for a while until we pick one! It's so irritating to have a name and then someone say "Ewww I don't like that one at all!" B, your opinion doesn't matter anyway!!!

I know it's an actual name but every time I see Annalise, I see anal. Other than that, I think it's pretty.

So in conclusion: Pray for a girl for me!
My husband likes Winnie. Input?
If if you want a more formal name, you could use Gwyneth, Gwendolyn, Guinevere, Wilomena, or Winifred.
