My best friend came over for breakfast today and then since she's kind of crazy ocd, proceeded to organize the baby's dresser, both bookshelves, help me better arrange the living room and she seems to have kicked my nesting into gear! Here's hoping it sticks around until baby comes!
@seitzy3 it sounds like you need a slushie in a margarita glass to help you deal with the stress. I'm sorry your Daughter and you had a hard night. Hopefully she takes a good nap that you can partake in as well.
Hello all! Brought e to the pediatrician since one of his ears started draining, got the ok to give him ear drops (benefit of having ear tubes, doesn't need oral antibiotics) but his mood has been fantastic today so that's a plus. My husband is off for his fantasy draft, I was grouchy with him before he left then told him to drive safe and have fun because I'm not that cold hearted. E is napping then probably a quiet afternoon around here.
Pediatrician assured me he's growing fine though he's now 32.5 inches and 24.5 pounds (height is lower growth curve than he used to be on and weight is about the same). Why can't I accept that kids come in all different sizes and that 30% just means he's bigger than 1/3 of kids his age and smaller than 2/3? I get the logic and just can't stop my obsessing...
Oh @seitzy3!!!! I couldn't help but laugh at the dog part! Haha omg. But totally understand the difficulty with other little ones. I feel like I'm barely getting by right now! How am I going to be able to add on another? The one thing is I don't think we realize how hard it is to be pregnant! Once we have a newborn and aren't pregnant I think we will be functioning a lot better with the other kids. I'm really looking forward to not being pregnant.

@marikkita12 yeah there will be no nap today. I'm trying and trying and it's not happening. Benedryl anyone?!?
@mhilpisch10 haha seriously. Even the dog is feeling left out and intimidated by this pregnancy. I am really hoping you are right about functioning better when not pregnant.
@AnnaS930 Hope lil E gets better soon. You are like my sis in law who just focuses on the stats. I'm sure he is perfect!
Side note- all this rain we are getting here and all I want is a pumpkin cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory

Instead of judging my his size look at how he acts. Does he act like a happy healthy kid? Then he is doing great. My almost five year old is only about 32-35 pounds and maybe 40". Most of her close hang off of her and I hat to see what winter is going to bring for challenges in that department. She wore 3t shorts the other day that fit her perfect. She might be tiny but she is pretty fierce, determined and stubborn child who is over all healthy.
@AnnaS930 I feel for you and the obsessing! I feel like I'll be the same way when this LO gets here. It's easier said than done, but try to focus on the fact that, as you already know, every kid is different and stats don't necessarily mean health. Your little boy is healthy and thriving and that's all that matters!
@mom2adoodle Layla loves the Dr Brown bottles too with the preemie nipple. She had a great latch prior to the bottle, so now I'll give her some boob after she feeds so it's less frustrating for her. She'll nibble the boob, get a few sucks in, but not yet full on (re)latching. I'll continue to give her boob throughout the day, but if she's really hungry, she'll push away, turn her head from side to side, and get fussy/cry. Ugh. And yes on the gas! DH is better at burping, but I've found if i sit at the edge of the couch/bed and bounce my legs, I can get better burps from her..or walk around while carrying her. She gets a lot of hiccups too but the nurses say not to worry about those.
Thanks for the support ladies, I'm such a number person I really need to get past it. He's an incredibly smart, happy, energetic little guy who sleeps like a champ... seems like none of that would be true if he was malnourished. Now I want to squeeze him... but he is 2 hours into a hopefully 3 hour nap and I'm not crazy.
@seitzy3 Sorry you had a rough night - I would have broken down too! Hope it can only get better from here!
@AnnaS930 Glad you were able to get some drops for E's ear! Hoping her stays in good spirits and the drops do the trick!
Looks like I have a sick kiddo on my hands too. DD was up twice in the night just crying her little heart out but couldn't tell us why. Woke with a runny nose and general congestion. I hope she kicks this quick...I hate to see her sick and, selfishly, I hope we can eradicate it without DH or I getting sick... I'm literally about to pop any day or get induced in less than a week. I can't imagine laboring/delivering/recovering with a cold on to of it - not to mention introducing LO to it on day 1!
@blondie080300 You popped into my head today so just wanted to reach out and say I hope you (and baby!) and your husband and MIL are doing alright these days. I'm sure each day is a struggle in its own way and hope you guys are hanging in there.
@seitzy3 call your MW if the headache is still there tomorrow! And let your dog have her day, everyone needs some nookie. Bahahha no. Gross.
@AnnaS930 my SIL is the same about my nephew and he's in the 50th! It really bothers her that DD is chubby and nephew isn't. She doesn't realize though that DD isn't far from him in height or weight, she's just a rolly kid lol
@seitzy3 sounds like a really rough night, I'm sorry to hear that!! You're a rock star though, and will be great with a little one added to your mix. And tell those neighbors of yours to shut up already.
@mom2adoodle I had to quit dairy and soy with my first I actually have already stopped eating dairy for this one too so he/she isn't born with it in his/her system
@mom2adoodle before you worry about elimination diets that's typically more for allergies which would be seen more blood/mucous in his stool... I think his system will mature and handle gas better as he grows!
E napped 1230-345. Of course around 330 I started nodding off to property brothers. Ugh, I'm terrible at the nap while kid naps mantra. Got up and made an iced coffee just in time for him to wake, our plans are now couch and Bubbleguppies for the foreseeable future.
@PSUBecky23 I am sure you have tried everything but my pediatrician gave us a tip I hadn't heard at our last appointment for when we start trying, so I wanted to share just in case it might work for you-
Put her in big girl panties, then put the diaper on the outside of the panties. That way there's no accidents but she will not feel comfortable after she goes.
You guyyyyyyyys I was just walking down the street, feeling all haggard and exhausted halfway through a long ass work day, and this woman (this beautiful, wonderful, angelic woman), stopped me and said "I just want to tell you that you look beautiful! You are truly radiant, and I just had to let you know. I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!"
Oh my god I almost burst out crying and wanted to give her a huge hug. She totally made my day, especially after earlier in the day my boss had made some weird gesture with her hands when she saw me indicating how absolutely huge she apparently thinks I am. I love this woman with all of my heart, bless her beautiful, beautiful soul. Why can't everyone treat pregnant women like that?!?
@SLou24 I had one of those angels descend and say similar things a week or so ago... it still rings in my ears, just keep her in mind the next couple of weeks!!
@Megan324 fantastic, although I would have loved to hear you pooped in the catbox.
@SLou24 that's so nice!!! It kind of restores my faith in humanity. We were just setting up the venue for the baby shower tomorrow and my moms friend came to help and she said something along the same lines. Love that woman.
@Megan324 so glad that wasn't an issue, despite the sunburn. Get your man to give you an aloe Vera massage and give him a big smooch for being awesome and thoughtful!!
Our baby shower venue is right beside Costco, so I'm currently sitting in the nice air conditioned car waiting for DH to return from getting me a poutine. My nutritionist would hate it but IDGAF.
@PSUBecky23 Ditto...she'll be three in a few weeks but she's the only one of our group of friends who isn't and I'm kind of embarassed (I know, I know...)
@SLou24 I love people like that who say such wonderful supportive things. This woman sounds like one of my coworkers who told me how beautiful I look practically every time she saw me. I think I made her reminisce about when she had her twins. She was great for the confidence on off days
@PoodleDoodleOoo@AlwaysAuntNeverMom Damn skippy. This here be Canadian parts, and we have poutine everywhere. It's actually pretty good too, they use real cheese curds. Poutine without cheese curds is not poutine. If someone sells you poutine with shredded cheese you throw it back at them and tell them their business is built on a foundation of lies. End of story.

@yellowrose314 being that my mom is 100% French Canadian, I feel the same way when people call it "poo-teen" instead of "pu-tsin" ... not sure that my phonetic spelling will make sense...but we be quebecois over here!

Truth!
@AnnaS930 So true. So many people massacre the pronunciation.
