@mom2adoodle it's just hormones. You are part of this board!
I'm only a ftm, but I'm sure the stms and ttms (and etc.) would love to answer your questions! Plus, speaking for myself, I would love to see them. There's so much I don't know, and all the mommy stories and questions from you and the other moms with babies on the outside will help me prepare!
Guys... DH drove downtown tonight to pick up friends who've been down there for the last week. He was supposed to text me when he got there and was supposed to be keeping a keen eye on his phone because I've been having contractions (which is really nothing new but will, presumably, result in something one of these days!) Well, he left 2.5 hours ago and the drive should have taken just a little over an hour. I've heard nothing. I texted him about 45 minutes ago and then again (like, hey, are you alive?) 20 minutes ago and still nothing. I hate worrying like this...I'm sure things are fine... But why does he do this to me?
So a tree fell down in front of my house today around 330. It took out 3 power lines and it's a huge mess. They said we should get power back by 9pm. It's 11 pm I am sweating my lady balls off. It look FI 30 mins to get down our street because there are so many work trucks. I am so grumpy it's not even a little okay.
@JennM205 my husband does shit like that too. Then he's all "omg I was worried you were in labor". Well it's a good thing I'm not because you suck at responding to text messages. Which is ironic considering how much effing time you spend playing on your stupid phone.
@mom2adoodle you should start up that thread! I will be on the outside baby team in just one week, and would love to have a thread to discuss all the postpartum details. You won't be alone for much longer
@JennM205 My DH is sooo bad about this too. He didn't have a cell phone for the longest time, I finally convinced him to get one about a year into dating, but he's still so bad about texting me if he's going to be late or what not. He's gotten slightly better since we're getting so close to D-Day. Still pisses me off waiting around for a reply though.
So I've basically had one long BH contraction for most of the day. Tightness in my belly and low back pain. I haven't felt the baby move too much but I have drank plenty of water. I've been home laying on my left for about an hour but the pain doesn't seem to go away. Im basically waiting for husband to get home and I'll have him take me to triage. Anyone else experience something similar? A super long, never ending contraction?
@marikkita12 I had that a few weeks ago and ended up going to the ED, got whisked up stairs and I was in fact having pretty regular contractions, they just felt like one big long contraction. Definitely would go get yourself checked out just in case!
I called the nurse line at the hospital because I also haven't felt the baby move in a couple of hours. Husband is on his way from work to come get me and take me to the hospital. Part of me is hoping this is it but part of me isn't ready. 36w4d still feels a bit early but we will see what they say
Just got released. Just obnoxious BH contractions. As soon as they put me on the monitor, he started squirming and being a butt. They checked my cervix and I'm still fully closed. They said he looked great on the monitor and recommended I go get a massage. Thanks for the well wishes
@mom2adoodle - Great minds think alike. I've typed out two separate threads about postpartum stuff and then canceled them thinking that there's so few of us it might not be the right time. Granted I've been through this before but, after 6 1/2 years, I feel like a new mom all over again. I will say this though, if you ever feel the need to reach out and talk, especially concerning baby blues, please don't hesitate. I kept all that to myself after R&E were born and it just made it all that much harder.
I'm 5cm, 70%, -3 station. I'm waiting on my epidural and then I think they will break my water to get things moving.

@mom2adoodle@unwritteN12 definitely don't hesitate to seek out advice re pp. We're all still here for you? Has the pp hair loss started? That was a bitch. And I remember the night sweats. Nothing like waking up to nurse in soaking wet clothes.
One benefit of pregsomnia? Catching up on the 400+ comments I've missed the last couple of days. I mean, I don't really remember what I just read, but I'm relatively caught up.
@Sarafuss Yay for baby day! Hope all is going well!
@marikkita12 Glad all was well, and hope the BH let up soon!
I also agree a PP thread would be great. I know there are quite a few outside babies now, and it's just going to keep increasing every day! Also, as already mentioned BTDT moms can give any insight they might have and still pregnant FTMs can ask questions.
It's supposed to be 97 degrees here today and we don't have AC! It's been a pretty awesome summer so far for being pregnant, but this final stretch is totally going to suck.
Ladies, today is my LAST day of work! OMG! I'm not even really sure how I feel. I'm bringing in homemade chocolate chip cookies for my group to celebrate.
Re: The PP threads, I second & third everyone else about going ahead and starting. I am totally curious about the next phase and what to expect. I really hope to learn from you all and offer support as I can.
@PSUBecky23 PP hair loss?? No!!! I was hoping that was a fallacy. I've had the best/easiest hair of my life the last few months!
@marikkita12 Glad that what you had were just BH and that baby is staying out for now.
@AnnaS930 Hope your little guy is feeling better today! Also, I wanted to say thank you for mentioning The Night Of the other day. Thanks to your comment, I got curious and have managed to watch all but one episode with my fiancé since Tuesday!
@mom2adoodle & @UnwritteN12 I think a postpartum thread would be great. I am being induced Tuesday and I think quite a few of us will have babies by the end of next week! It also looks like @sarafuss will be joining the mom group soon! Congrats and good luck!
Today is my LAST day of work (for 12 weeks) AHHHH!!!!!! so excited I seriously cannot wait! I know it is not a vacation but work has been soooo crazy that I am glad this will be it for me!
Me: 32 DH: 31
TTC #2 since January 2018
Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
@seitzy3 - your Beast meme is MY LIFE! OMG. It's so hard to get the courage up to cook a big dinner and then have my son not want any of it. And at 20 months I always battle with the "ok, do I give him a big serving of fruit and let him eat some cookies so I know he got calories, or is what I made for dinner his only option??" It's seriously the hardest part of parenting for me. Of course right now he doesn't feel good so at daycare he only ate "some" of his breakfast/lunch/snack. Had goldfish at home, then at dinner at 1 piece of pasta and was "all done". I ended up making him a smoothie with banana, PB, milk, berries and tofu.. so I know he got a good 250-300 calories in. Oh, then he ate a piece of fudge. Mother of the year!
Thanks for the well wishes for Emmett. He ended up having a great day at daycare yesterday (what a little troll) and slept pretty well but did cry out a few times, which in the past has been a major red flag for ear infections. This morning I noticed one ear had some dried drainage around it.. maybe? It also could have been some tears that dried around his ear, but I have a feeling it's drainage, so I've got a call into his ENT this morning to see if that sounds like an ear infection and need some drops (mama instinct says yes). After ear infections every other month for his first year of life, this would be the first one in the past 9 months since he got tubes.. and that's pretty great, also super excited to treat it with drops versus a 10 day oral antibiotic course!
@Sarafuss hope everything went smoothly and you can enjoy some Graeters (I think this was you...)
I would love to stalk a PP thread, I researched pregnancy and delivery so much and it just occurred to me I didn't really read up on the after...... Also, to the weather man 'cool' does not mean 85-90! I know it's been 95ish for weeks but 85 is still hot. I've never wished away summer like this, but come on 60s.
For those of you who lost sleep last night wondering "Could AnnaS930 be any sexier??" ... let me assure you, I have reached a new level with my compression socks, jury is still out on whether they will increase my body temp enough to add to the already copious amounts of butt sweat I produce each day.
And for those wondering how I'd get them on (@MrsVoorhees) the answer is with a lot of balance, hopping around, straining and sweating.
@mom2adoodle I'm sorry you're feeling some blues. I can see how you'd feel left out as the only one with a baby awhile ago. I hope you know we would love to support you with anything you need!! I would also love a PP thread so I hope you guys start it up I second @jhems776 that I've researched so much about pregnancy but not much about PP (besides the recovery stuff).
@mom2adoodle - echoing what others have said, ask your questions here! or air your complaints/nasty symptoms.. quite a few of us have been there before and not too long ago! You're right on the cusp of having quite a few mamas join you with babies on the outside, don't go anywhere!!
Last day of work for me too, @geminigirl16 and @kosmo86! I'll still answer emails through the weekend if necessary, but today is the last real day. So. Excited! Woot woot!
Anyone have those days where it kind of sinks in how f*cked up the world is? It makes all my problems seem so petty and trivial. And I fear the world I am bringing my child into. And then I feel guilty for subjecting such sweet innocent life to this horrible world. I have just seen too much depressing news lately. And too many of my Facebook friends post depressing pictures and articles out of "awareness". After a while yesterday (and seeing multiple pictures of children living in war zones), it just really got to me how much sadness there is in the world. I am better today, and I am sorry for the depressing post. But I can't certainly be the only person who gets these feelings from time to time.
@marajay6 I just try my best to surround myself with good people and focus on the positives in the world. Because despite how horrible the world and people seem, there is still so much good out there.
Speaking of war zones, if you're interested in helping the refugee population, there's a great organization called Carry the Future that provides baby carriers to refugees.
