@MrsVoorhees what kind of milk are you drinking? 9/22!
@JennM205 MIL's are the worst. Don't let her bring you or DH down in anyway. If I were DH I wouldn't even respond to her or I would just respond with what is going on with my life and no acknowledgment of what is going on with hers.
@Unwritten524 way to go mama! I am in awe of breastfeeding two babies!
@JennM205 sounds like we have similar MILs. She makes absolutely no effort to be in my daughter's life and what's even worse, no effort to be in my husband's life, which pisses me the eff off because my husband is an awesome person and he doesn't deserve to be treated that way. Then when MIL does see Reese, she showers her with toys so Reese, being three, loves her for it and MIL thinks she's the world's greatest grandmother. My husband is also desperate for her attention so he let's her get away with this crap. I've put my foot down with my husband that, except for X-mas, I will not be making any effort with her, including visits at her house, unless she starts making an effort in return. He's OK with that but he wants Reese to have a relationship with her and still makes the effort of taking her to MILs house and MIL wins again. It's beyond frustrating.
@JennM205 - I would probalby respond to MIL with "A new camper? That's cool.. not much going on here if you're curious, just having a baby soon!" but maybe it's best that she's not around anyway.
Where's my Olympic medal? I am sitting on an exercise ball (on a wheeled base.. so not super rolly) at work, slightly bouncing WITH my legs on boxes straight out in front of me. Trying to get baby to engage his head (he's still "floating" that little bugger) and also keep my ankles from taking on pounds of fluid retention.
Almost glad I didn't pack a lunch today.. this deserves Panera.. lots of panera.
@AnnaS930 - Sorry about E having a cold. My son recently had a very minor summer cold that left him with a runny nose for the better part of 2 weeks. During that time, he learned how to blow his nose. It is actually really nice having a toddler that knows how to do it since it is more efficient than simply wiping the drainage.
NBR Anyone have any good carpet cleaning tricks? The woman who watched our dog over last weekend "didn't notice" that the dog yacked on the floor so it dried and got nasty.
Our cheap carpet cleaner, resolve, and the rug doctor we rented from the grocery store have all failed us.

So far he has been really sweet and asking "Tissue? Hemmut nose!" so he knows when he needs one. He likes to sniff things when I suggest for him to smell flower, etc... I bet I could get him to blow out as well, great thinking! I'm so glad it's been really thin, clear drainage so I haven't had to bust out the Nose Frida yet... heaven help me if I need to, I might face some 3rd tri nausea/vomiting.

The stain is still there. Taunting me.
We use Resolve pet stain remover carpet cleaner (not sure if resolve is also JUST a carpet cleaner without pet stain specification and that's what you used?) We've found it works well. So well that I am too lazy to pick up pukes sometimes cause I know I can get the stain out so sometimes it sits there a few days.... I'm gross
@KimmySchmidt you could try 2 parts hydrogen peroxide and 1 part dawn dish soap. Once I spilled red wine on my light beige carpet and using this mixture really worked. You cannot tell there was ever any wine there. Good luck!!
@KimmySchmidt - We have off-white/sandy colored carpets and I've had luck with using some oxyclean spray on it (actually the baby spray'n'wash type) to really soak the stain, then using our spotbot to suck the liquid up. Not sure if this would discolor a darker carpet or not. Good luck, carpet stains make me insane.. waiting for these kiddos to grow up, then replacing the carpets with hardwood or something similar!
Got to my 8am appointment with the MFM only to be told that they called last week to reschedule. I see the voicemail now, but I have no recollection of it arriving. Seems reasonable that they might have called a second time when I didn't respond. I totally started to cry since lo barely slept last night, so I barely slept last night. They scanned me, but now I've been in the waiting room for over an hour in hopes that the doctor gets out of his meeting. Where is my do-over button?
@KimmySchmidt I've used Folex, it's this weird cleaner you can get at Home Depot or lowes. Somehow it gets everything out and yet they say you can just rub it in with your bare hands because it has no toxic chemicals. I'm skeptical. But it works. https://www.amazon.com/Folex-Carpet-Spot-Remover-32/dp/B001B0V5GG

So, Olympic canoeing is not only a thing, but I've discovered I find it super watchable. I really love all these daytime sports. Primetime is fine, but there's only so much beach volleyball I can take.
Confession: I don't really get Cartwheel. I get on my Cartwheel app before I go shopping and decide which coupons I want, then go to Target, buy them and scan my barcode? That sounds to me like twice the amount of shopping.
@lissvarna Congrats! Hazel is beautiful and so is her name!
@AnnaS930 Sorry to hear E's really under the weather now. I was hoping it would pass him by without really affecting him. I hope he feels better soon! And about the MIL - I am constantly giving DH snarky retort suggestions for his Mom but he doesn't use them. He wants to but also basically is content just leaving it alone - less effort on his part and since there's never any reward, why put in any effort? Probably for the best, haha.
@PSUBecky23 Yes, our MILs sound so similar! The only difference is that DD and DH feel the same about my MIL as I do so at least I have that... When we see her, she immediately smothers DD and freaks her out (because, again, DD barely knows her) and then completely ignores her for the rest of the time. And she speaks to her like an infant - complete baby talk voice and babble. She's 3 and is extremely communicative so it's totally unnecessary. DD is not a fan, in any shape or form. DH also can't stand her antics. I feel bad for him because I wish he had a better support system but she's a lost cause and he knows that, as tough as it is to swallow.

Well it's a coupon app. Of course using coupons is more of a hassle than not using coupons. But the app is a lot easier when compared to clipping coupons. (Which you still can do. Target's website has printable coupons separate from cartwheel, and they're all stackable)
If you don't want to plan your trip in advance, you can always scan the barcodes of items as you put them in your cart and the app will check and see if it is discounted. (Which is worth it if you find yourself buying Up&Up brand, that stuff ALWAYS seems to be at least 5% off on the app.)
ETA: I'm not one of those super coupon people who have a pantry full of a lifetime supply of dish soap or something. But once my first kid was using target brand formula and diapers, I signed up for the redcard and made it a mission to save as much money in that particular store as possible. It really is nice to see your total go down by tens of dollars at checkout.
Guys it's my birthday! And it actually looks like it's going to be a good one for a change (my last few birthdays have sucked). DH felt super bad that he had to work today, so he surprised me last night with a gift certificate to the fancy spa for a preggo massage!!!! I was so excited I actually squealed a little. So I'll be over here doing my happy birthday dance
@KimmySchmidt I have the RedCard and I am REALLY hoping that my baby is good with Target brand diapers! We bought a big box of size Newborn Pampers and then a big box of size 1 Target brand diapers. We will see!
Some of you may remember that my best friend was also pregnant a few months back, but had a miscarriage at 15 weeks. I bumped into her today and things were much less awkward/painful than they have been the last few times. Afterwards she texted to say how great it was to see me and how great I look (she's way too nice). Also updated me that she's been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease secondary to pregnancy and is set up with a specialist for treatment. Scary, but I'm happy for her to be getting some answers.. the loss really shook her and her husband to their cores, as I'm sure it often/always does and they had been saying for a while that they'd never try again. I'm hoping with some insight as to what might have been the cause that they will be able to decide whether or not trying for another baby is right for them down the road.
@AnnaS930 - I really hope E feels better soon! As for your friend, I'm glad that things were a little less awkward and thrilled that she's seeing a specialist. A loss is hard at any stage, but to have one when you're reasonably sure you're out of the woods because you're in 2nd tri or beyond, I just can't imagine. Best of luck to her and her DH!
@yellowrose314 - Happy Birthday!!! That massage sounds like Heaven!! You've earned it so enjoy mama!
I got a gift certificate this past weekend at my shower to be used towards a pregnancy massage too! However with just 4 weeks left and having so much to do between now and then...I'm wondering if I should try and squeeze in the massage now or wait until after baby's born and have it then. What do you ladies think? If you've had a pregnancy massage, was it worth it? I'm also worried that I might be too close to the end to truly enjoy it.
@Sbrown721 we still use pampers exclusively but I have found at least once a month they go on at least 15% off on cartwheel (once they were 25% off). Then add using red card on top of that, we end up saving quite a bit still using pampers and that's not even looking for manufacturer coupons which you can also usually find online.
@AnnaS930 poor E! I hope he's feeling ok and his day gets better!!
@yellowrose314 happy birthday and go H!! What a great present!!
We got released from court early today, so I'm off to my 34 wk appt that I was supposed to have tomorrow morning. Going to get swabbed, so that should be lovely! Also, I'm glad I'm going because I noticed a the end of our session today that she hasn't been moving this morning much at all. I'm sure everything's fine, but I'm glad I'm going in just so I don't spend the whole afternoon worrying!
@AnnaS930 - Hashimoto's is a very manageable condition and once she has it treated, it shouldn't prevent her from having a family. I have it and take Synthroid daily. I go to the endocrinologist quite frequently - especially while pregnant and get my thyroid labs checked every 4-6 weeks. Once thyroid levels are at a healthy level, the risk of miscarriage and pregnancy complications go way down. When TTC with DS, my endocrinologist benched me for 3-4 months because he didn't like my thyroid levels. I went on to have a healthy, complication free pregnancy with my son and again this time.
@PSUBecky23 - we are in agreement. That's why DH and I left DS on the floor at night. His mattress is pretty firm, so the floor isn't too much worse.
I recommend hanging something on the door that makes noise as well. When my daughter finally transitioned to a bed she started sleep walking but without making noise. The thing on the door would then wake me when she would start coming out of the room
@marajay6 - Thank you for that info! That's a wonderful success story. I'm vaguely familiar with Hashimoto's from my pharmacy world, but not with it in terms of pregnancy. She's currently taking Synthroid so that's a good start to getting her levels back on track.
Re: August Randoms!!!
@AnnaS930 yuck, sorry to hear E isn't feeling well. I hope he does well in daycare and you guys don't have to go get him.
