I am so excited to post here. I am in L&D and going to have a baby. He did a membrane sweep and went me to the hospital. I was already 3cm and contracting.
Okay I have to say, TB, is the highlight of my days during my maternity leave. These updates & announcements are what I look forward to. Almost feels like graduation but better! Good luck @jkershaw2013 & @DDRRT1982!!
Went for dr appt yesterday am was 4 cm and 70%, she swept my membranes and said you are now a good 4 cm and 80% with -2.. contracted yesterday but not very noticeable patterned and died down lastnight. When she swept me she had to stop because she felt my sac buldge but still has not broken. Mucus plug did come out though. Today I bounced on work out ball and rolled my hips around, did some odds and ends shopping to try to just keep moving. Contractions are still happening but don't feel like they are getting much stronger. I think I am going to go to L&D tonight to try see if I am contracting enough to keep me.
Aria Noelle was born last night at 10:55. We had quite the rough delivery (degree four tear/ internal stitches. My epidural didn't work at the end three separate times and her head was rotated the wrong way). I am extremely exhausted being awake for two days straight. But we did it! At 12 days early she ended up being almost 9lbs! Everyone was shocked when she came out. I will post a birth announcement as soon as we get home in the next couple of days.
WHAT!?!? Woohoo! Congrats Mama!! Can't believe it took me so long to see this. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a restful few weeks.
I have been neglectful about posting for quite awhile (although I have been loving the updates!) but just wanted to say congratulations to all the new mamas. Beautiful babies everywhere! It's amazing.
So many new babies I can't keep up! I love see all the new little squishes and reading everyone's birth stories. Congrats to all the new mamas and for those still waiting - hang in there!
So im a little late. But i delivered my baby girl on August 2nd at 6:46am at 36weeks 3days. They called her "late preterm" she was 5lbs 7oz 18.5" long and completely perfect. I went into triage on the 1st around 1:30pm because i had been having trouble breathing for about a month but it was at its worst that day. I was having contractions between 4-7minutes apart for awhile but chalked them up to being Braxton hicks since this was my 4th baby. I was being monitored as well as baby. She was perfect but my heart rate was all over the place. They ordered an EKG and i wound up being sent to the ER because although my contractions were consistent at 4-7 minutes plus a million tiny ones in between that they Said were causing uterine irritibility my EKG was abnormal. So at 2.5cm dilated and 50% effaced i was taken by ambulance to ER for tests. I had blood work, Ultrasounds, Xrays, nuclear radiation testing looking for blood clots since blood work came back positive for one. They thought it was in my lungs since i couldn't breathe. I had Echos done on my heart more EKGs and nothing looked good. I found out that i was actually in heart failure so they were going to admit me into the hospital itself. I told the ER doctor i didn't think that was going to happen... As i had now been hashing contractions right in at 2minutes apart for the last couple hours. The ER doctor checked me and Said there was no change since i left the women's center and that my cervix was still posterior (which is normal for me until right before i deliver). Not even 5 minutes later the on call OBGYN comes in and checks me i was 5cm and 70%effaced. This is definitely a change from the women's center. He said id be coming back to the women's center with him to have this baby and a cardiologist could visit me there. An ambulance came once again to take me back to the women's center (literally 2 speed bumps away in same parking lot). As soon as i arrived the OB checked me and i was already at 6cm and 80% effaced. I called my husband who was at home with our other 3little ones and told him he needed to come. I was advised to get an epidural right away due to this being my second vbac. Just as a precaution incase an emergency c section was needed so i didn't need to be put to sleep and my husband could come in with me. My water broke at 12:30am and i was able to rest because of the epidural and i woke up to pressure. It was time to push. I did a few practice pushes with the nurse at 9cm before the doctor came in. He came in i pushed 1 time her head was out and her body followed right behind. It was truly amazing. I didn't tear and i didn't need stitches. They layed her on my chest and Daddy got to cut the cord for the very first time with any of our babies.
@caitlinj187 I did but for a totally different reason! Have itchy palms and soles so they wanted to do blood work for cholestasis. Started contracting consistently when I was there but they they slowed down with IV fluid so they sent me home after 5 hours. Still waiting on definitive results for the cholestasis
Scheduled induction for 8:30 this morning. Just got a call from the hospital saying that all rooms are full and to go back to sleep and they'll call me when they're ready. I couldn't sleep at all last night and work up at 4:30 am to cook breakfast because I was told to not eat anything after 6am. This phone call came while I was drinking my coffee. It's going to be a LONG day!!! Ready to get this show on the road.
