Thanks for the pick me up. I know I'm being dramatic about it, it's just so hard. I was heavy my whole life and lost 70 lbs a few years ago. For the first time in my life I could wear the clothes I always wanted to and felt great. I knew I would gain during pregnancy but I'm just so terrified of having to start all over. I was on a SUPER low carb diet when I got my BFP and was working out a ton. Since my last pregnancy ended in a loss, I freaked out and was basically afraid to move so I stopped working out. Then, I couldn't eat anything BUT carbs or I wanted to puke. I got my diet back on track during second tri and started walking but now even walking makes me want to die so I'm back to couch surfing and feeling sorry for myself. I know I'll find something to wear but I'm just feeling so embarrassed. I always imagined having a fit pregnancy but I feel like I've let myself go and everyone at my shower will know it.
I totally feel you on all of this. I look at myself in the mirror every day and wince in disgust.
Girl, we've just got to let go of our insecurities. You did what you had to do to keep yourself sane in your first tri and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Mental health is important, too!
We lost the weight before and we can do it again. And it's not starting over. I seriously doubt you'll gain all 70 pounds back, right? I know you're planning on BFing and that will help, a lot.
You do whatever you need to do to make it through this pregnancy. Girl, you are beautiful!
One love it just wasn't enough here... love ALL of what she just said
Thanks @CopperBoom86, you're right. Not keeping up at the gym during first tri maybe wasn't the right decision but it was what I had to do at the time to keep myself sane and not freak out. I mean, I was freaking out anyway but I'm sure I would have been a basket case if I added muscle aches and pains to the mix!

I keep checking the extended forecast for my baby shower date, and as of now the temps are at 95/96 It's at our house, and we don't have AC. Our house stays relatively cool, but it's one thing to be a little hot myself. Subjecting our guests to misery, on the other hand... After a week straight of 100+ temp last week, I have been so excited that it's only in the high 80s currently. Come on weather gods, is it too much to ask? Please don't spike back up with the temps
@MRSCORKER I know we all have insecurities and reading words on a screen from an Internet stranger doesn't hold a whole lot of weight, but I think you are gorgeous, inside and out! Not only are you pretty, but you are funny and sweet and seem to always be there to support others. Just think when people see you on the street, they're not saying "omg look at her ass!" They're probably smiling and getting secretly giddy that you're pregnant. My hubby had to point that out to me a few times when I was feeling down and he would just stand there and show me the people that noticed me and smiled the second they saw my large belly. We all have our pity party days, but you don't need one
@LauraPCOS Thank you so much, that's very sweet. We are our own worst critics and while people are looking at me and probably thinking how sweet it is that I have a baby on the way, I'm projecting my insecurities and worrying that they're judging me. That's on me. It will all be worth it in a couple of months!

@MRSCORKER I totally understand where you are coming from. Just like you, I lost a lot of weight so I could get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy. And yes people are looking at us and are HAPPY for us, we project such negative imaging on ourselves. I find myself rubbing my belly so people don't mistaken me for fat, how sad it that?!? It's hard and a sucky feeling. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied, I hate that I'll always see the 300 lb girl looking back at me. BUT like you said this is ALL worth it!! You look great in all your HDBD photos and you'll look beautiful on your shower day!!

I've found myself doing this too, mostly when I first started showing. I actually had a coworker who I don't know stop me in the bathroom and say "I couldn't decide if you were pregnant or..." she didn't finish her sentence because I guess she realized how shitty her comment was. I seriously attract all the crazies with no filters.

I do this all the time! No, really, ALL. THE. TIME. My hand probably spends more time on my belly than off.
It makes me feel better about myself, so #noshame!
Happy to know I'm not alone!! (and apparently I can't type today either. LOL How sad *is that?!?)

@LauraPCOS Have someone write down each gift and who it's from as you open them. My niece did that for me at my shower, so I didn't even have to worry about it when it came time to write thank yous
@laurapcos and @krzyriver my sister wrote down what was received in the gift givers card- that way she didn't have to guess on DH's family's names. So I just went through the cards after the shower and wrote my thank you's that way.
When was your shower? This morning- surprise! How many people attended? About 20 What did you wear? A maxi skirt, and sandals that came off almost immediately...too tight! Was there a theme? Orange, gray and blue (to go with my nursery) and bow ties. Adorable!
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. I had a great time! My bff from out of town was getting out of her car as I pulled up, so that kinda ended the surprise aspect (but I had an inkling anyway). We played 2 games that were actually really cute, not cheesy, lol. One was estimating prices of baby items and the closest to the total won. The other was 10 statements about my husband or I when we were babies. We held up pink or blue bows to vote We got lots of great gifts, including our travel system (yay)! What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part if applicable. The best part was having everyone together. And the cake was amazing! The worst part was that it was hot.
Pictures! Me with my 2 sisters, who were the hostesses I wish someone had gotten a picture of the bow tie garland my mom made to go around the table! It was so cute.
Our family shower was today! About 50 family members, mostly from my side. It was a co-Ed pink BBQ and everything was perfect! I was pleasantly surprised by how much people loved the games.
@ashleyp625... Hey, I own that skirt too you look great! So glad you had a great shower! alsi, if games must be played, those are good ones! I did the first one for my friend's shower a couple of years ago and everyone seemed to like it. The guessing one sounds fun too.
@ashleyp625 Love the statement game idea with the pink or blue bows..may have to use that one! Also, you look so happy and lovely! AND That cake girl! *drooling over here*
@strickland8052 I am having my shower next Saturday with a red & white picnic theme. I'm still not settled on the games to play. May I ask which one your guests enjoyed?
Thanks, ladies! It was a good day! @bnsmith85 I cringed a little inside when she said, okay everyone, let's eat and then we can begin the games They were actually quite fun, though.

Omg, I know! It's from the place that did my wedding cake. I was really sad there were no leftovers
@brzvice - since there were 50 people, we stuck to games that people could play on their own time... Nothing that required the entire groups attention at any given time. We had an activity table with the following:
1. The guess which candy bar is in the "dirty" diaper game 2. The "don't say baby" clothes pin game 3. Vote on your favorite baby name from a list of our top 5 (we still haven't picked) 4. Decorate the bib station 5. Baby shower gift bingo cards, which they played while I opened gifts
At the beginning of the shower, we told everyone about all the games. Then after gifts, we determined winners for candy bar and clothes pin games. We also announced which name had the most votes. Different people seemed to like different games so I think we had a good mix. Adults got really into the bib decorating, which we initially thought would just be for the kids. In hindsight, we probably should have put out more bibs.
The cutest cookies from my shower yesterday! This one was with my family and friends from my hometown and MIL's side of the family from not too far away.
@strickland8052 your set up is so cute! My shower is this coming weekend and I know my mom is doing the "don't say baby", "who knows mommy best", and every time I open something blue a gift gets passed to the right
@strickland8052@LauraPCOS I usually hate shower games, but those don't sound too bad. My shower is a BBQ so I wonder if we'll play any games like that.... I'd ask so I can be prepared but I don't want to give them the idea if they're not currently planning it. Lol
Thanks, @laurapcos! What's funny is that the brunette on the right and I were identical when we were born, but over time, the blonde on the left and I favor each other more. Every time I post a picture of myself on FB, it automatically tags her. Haha
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. Mostly. About 8 people couldn't make it and I was a little upset. They are old coworkers/close friends I really wanted to see/catch up with. It went perfect though, my MIL and friend did a really good job with the decorations, food, and games.

When was your shower? My family had a shower for me yesterday. It was supposed to be a surprise but my aunt messed up by talking about it by accident on Saturday.
How many people attended? 45-50
What did you wear? A dress from Pea in a Pod.
Was there a theme? Not really. Lavender and grey for the nursery colors.
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. It was more fun than I expected. I don't like to be the center of attention, but I had a really good time seeing some friends I haven't seen in a while!

I need to stop looking at what's been purchased... People keep asking oh what do you need..and of course in my head I think, look at the registry (that's the whole point of it, right?!) but it is fun to see a lot of the items getting checked off our list!
I'm pretty much giving up on ppl buy from the registry, it's on saturday and not much has been purchased. Pretty sure I'll be getting a bunch of onesies...
I love all the shower pics ! This is my fourth so I don't know if I'll have a shower, I don't need anything but diapers and wipes lol. And I am so jealous of your gorgeous bumps ! Mine is funny shaped due to being born premature with gastroschesis, and being a plus size momma - sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not
@strickland8052, i told my hostesses "no games allowed at all" at my shower, but reading your recap about how people enjoyed it is making me think twice about my decision!
@nlane0723, in love with your theme, especially the touch of the antlers and the wood slabs.
@afry613 love the champagne bottle! And that cake. Wow!
I didn't have a shower (#2) but my SIL's was yesterday hosted by her mom and sister. They did the game with the 'how big is her stomach' and it made me ragey. She's nt very big so I guess she didn't mind but when her sister came up to me, I really wanted to ask if we were going to play guess (the sisters) weight next.
