I've noticed that some people have already had their showers! Figured we needed a thread to share our experiences. Share what you'd like, questions are just there as a guide.

Re: Baby Showers!
How many people attended? 15-20
What did you wear? A dress from Pink Blush.
Was there a theme? sock monkey
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. It was more fun than I expected. I don't lIke to be the center of attention or have my picture made so I was really dreading having not one but two showers, but I had a good time.
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part if applicable. My favorite part was seeing my friends and family. My least favorite part is that the baby's room is a disaster.
Any pictures you want to share? Sure!

What did you wear? A pink and navy maxi
Was there a theme? No theme. We really didn't want it to be too much like a baby shower, more of just a cookout with the family, but all of the decorations were pink and white.
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. Yes! I actually had a lot of anxiety about the shower, but luckily everything went really well and everyone seemed to have a good time. I just wish I had had more time to actually talk to people while I was there. I woke up today and felt like I really never had a chance to talk to anyone except to tell them how I was feeling when they asked.
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part if applicable. I just loved getting to see all of my aunts and uncles. They all live across the state from us, so we really don't get to see them that often. I was nice to have everyone in once place. My least favorite part was that we had to drive about 4 hours there on Friday, and then back today. I would have loved to be able to spend a few more days there, but unfortunately I have to save all of my vacation days for maternity leave!
Any pictures you want to share? The only one I have is of me with my brother and sister. I have no idea if anyone was able to actually get any others at some point!

My coworkers will probably throw me a work shower as well. I'm kind of hoping that someone throws us a friend shower too, but I'm not counting on that getting organized.
It's a boy!

@CopperBoom86 Just try to communicate as much as possible!
I offered to throw my cousin a baby shower, this is her first and we are due less than a week apart so I thought it would be fun! Well, I have been trying to call her and text her for the past month, MONTH, to get info from her about guests, preferred theme, and the works- she hasn't responded to me once... so I'm going to either just throw a little something together my own way without her input (and hope she even SHOWS UP at this point), or just say fuck it. This ship is about to sail... If you can send me sporadic pictures of your belly, you can answer my calls or texts, especially when I'm offering to host your Baby Shower =/

I don't have a picture of my shower invite because the ladies throwing it for me didn't send one to me. I know it's aqua and has a mama and a baby elephant on it. I don't know if there's a theme for the shower--they're keeping everything secret. My main worry is that I'll end up with a bunch of blue elephant stuff I didn't register for; hopefully people will look at the registry and get the idea!

I was super nervous. I'm not one for attention and I hate having all eyes on me (that's why I've never really had birthday parties). On top of that this shower was thrown by a group of former students who I taught for all four years of high school (they started high school my first year teaching and were in my class every year) so I really wasn't sure at all what to expect (teenagers, you know). I was very surprised at how well it went off, though. They had beautiful decorations and games and were so well organized. I love that the family bond we created back in 2011 is still going strong.

When I went to leave one boy came up to me and handed me an envelope and told me he was just too overwhelmed by all the choices for gifts in the store so he was just giving me money. I told him (as I told all of them) that a gift was absolutely not necessary, but he said he owed me. I think they all feel that way (I was a counselor/college adviser/teacher hybrid) but I can't seem to get them to understand that I owe them, probably more than any of us know.
Any pictures you want to share?
I avoided pictures haha.
I don't know all the details but there will be a Hawaiian/Flamingo kind of theme.
Here's a sample of the invitations I think they're using:
Also, question - what are y'all doing for thank you gifts for your hosts? I'm not really crafty & I need 5...have no clue what to do about this.
