I just took a 20 minute, hot, epsom salts soaking bath....while LO was awake!! I even shaved my legs! Of course...Pandora playing the oldies helped. He particularly liked "Freak Out". .....and then he did.
That's awesome!! We're trying to get our son to take the bottle. Any tips?
@vintagevix2016 I seriously think it was just luck/timing/she gained some more developmental skills. We have been trying for some time and she would gum at it but not drink. Randomly she would take a bottle but not very often and it made me nervous for my husband in the evening. She also wouldn't take a pacifier. Then this weekend at her baptism she sucked on the pacifier and stayed calm through the service (talk about miracle!) and then last night while I was at work I pulled up the Nest camera and was shocked to see her snuggled in husbands arms happily eating away. He said she ate about 40ml so it wasn't a ton but apparently enough to tide her over until I got home. I asked him how he knew to offer it and he said she was starting to cue by munching on her hands so he figured he would give it a go. He also said he wasn't expecting her to take it and had back up plans so he stayed calm and relaxed. I really think it was waiting until she gained some additional maturity (she will be 8 weeks on Friday and she was born almost two weeks early). We have also been rewarding her that any time she at least took the bottle in her mouth she would get breast fed after. And as soon as I got home from work she was breast fed. I don't anticipate she will always take the bottle but it was definitely a relief and a step in the right direction!
I have 9 years between my first and new little guy. My brag is that I got my first to swimming and football on time today with no meltdowns from baby or him!!! Although I did forget a towel damn it!! Can't win them all lol
My church doesn't do infant baptism, but each baby does traditionally get a blessing. This Sunday is my daughters baby blessing, and I just finished making her little white dress for it.

Managed to shower, put clothes on ~pre pregnancy jeans!!!~, dry/straighten my hair AND put on makeup while baby was awake and not crying! Did I mention pre pregnancy jeans?! (5 weeks pp). ....i have to admit the bellefit is the reason I can wear my jeans. Although, today is the first day I've been able to get into the bellefit!
Kiddo napped long enough this afternoon for my husband and I to watch a movie completely uninterrupted! Nice Guys was hysterical, by the way. It stars Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, directed by the same guy that did Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
I received our birth announcements in the mail on Friday and managed to get them all stuffed, stamped, addressed and put in the mail by Saturday morning! Also, today we attended a funeral and he slept the entire time! He saved his witching hours for once we got home
For the last week we have been putting Ethan in his crib at bedtime awake and he's been falling asleep on his own. I feel like I climbed Mount Everest! Hahaha.
Levi is in his crib tonight for the first time ever (asleep). Wasn't necessarily planning on doing it tonight because I haven't been very successful....ok, not successful at all getting him to nap in it. Tonight I laid him in it to finish getting his jammies and sleep sack on and he seemed content since those were familiar night time happenings so I read him a book while he laid there. He seemed to be dozing pretty good so I just stood there until he fell asleep. That was about 20 minutes ago. We will see how the night goes! Surely it isn't this easy to make the transition from rock n play to crib....
We are thinking we may end up with a terrible 2 year old lol since we have such a easy newborn/infant. She's 8 weeks old and her favorite things are eating and sleeping. She goes to bed around 8 gets up around 4 then back asleep til 9. She naps 3-5 hours at a time during the day. Hardly ever cries unless she ready to eat. In 8 weeks I think I've only needed a nap maybe once and it was because I stayed up to late lol this is a picture of her on our first road trip to the cabin. 10 1/2 hour drive and she did great! Well she also slept most of the way
@lilp2015 did you do anything to keep her entertained during your roadtrip (when she wasn't sleeping)? We're driving cross country in a few weeks and I'm trying to find someways to keep her from being miserable in her car seat for so long.

We left at 1am so we knew she would sleep most of the trip. I rode in the backseat with her so when she was awake I just talked to her. She was 7 weeks then. We are going again in 2 weeks. Hope it's just as smooth! Incase it's not I plan to pack a couple of her musical toys. She has a mouse that sings different songs and the mirror that plays music and if all else fails she loves watching bright colors on the tv so I will play videos on my phone. Good luck!!
My baby has been putting herself to sleep for naps and bedtime the last couple days. I've been putting her down fully awake but knowing she would/should be sleepy very soon. She will smile and coo for a few minutes and then drift off to sleep. So happy with this progress!
We finally had sexy time today! It's been 4 months since we've had it. It wasn't painful but there was initial discomfort, I say it's a win. We celebrated with a little champagne.
We also fiiiinally did Damien's footprints. Better late than never, right?
We're breastfeeding without the nipple shield!! Thanks to an LC. I'm very cautious with it, if I feel sore I will alternate with the shield so my poor nipples aren't out of commission. It takes more concentration right now so I need to focus like a beginner again : ) I really hope we can do this!

My baby boy goes to sleep at 7pm then wakes up at 4:30am and back to sleep until 9am. Another thing is that usually I breastfeed him before bedtime and he looks pretty sleepy so after he finishes I put him down and he goes to sleep by hymself! I cant believe that. My baby girl never did that.
Re: Let's brag.
@egirl1025 yes!! Love babies with sunglasses!
My brag is my baby finally took a bottle tonight so my work evening went better than expected!!
