TTC After a Loss

**August Waiting to O!**

edited August 2016 in TTC After a Loss
Here we are! New month! :) The summer is going by SO fast!

This thread is pretty free form, so feel free to rant, rave, ask questions about temping, cm/cp, your chart, or those pesky OPKs! Or just lament in general about how you're impatiently waiting....

But whatever you do, don't forget to BD!

Love & hugs to all <3

  • CD2 here, BD timing was horrible last month due to stress from house renovations and travel arrangements, but this month we are going to relax as much as possible so hopefully the BD will pick up naturally. Will probably start temping in the next day or so, I have been liking to temp to confirm O then stop temping during the TWW seems to be helping with the crazies!

Other than that I finally allowed myself to go on Pinterest and pin a few baby things to a secret baby board. I am hoping this is a sign I am getting OK with the idea of becoming pregnant (FX) again. DH also confided finally how upsetting it is to him each month too that I am not KU, which actually helped because I feel less alone in that.

@silentP I am totally down for an April baby! FX for us all!!

  • @silentp Lol, to sleeping next to a 4 year old. My sex life has never been more "adventurous" than with bed-sharing. The creativity needed to find privacy has given my 30-something self a leap on my 20-something self.
  • @silentp April babies ftw!

@lilylover27 i think that pinning stuff was a step in the right direction. Yay for you being able to do so!

CD 9 over here but I have a ways to go- don't usually O till CD 18-21. This is my last month of "free range" BDing since I'll be going back to work at the end of August when school starts again and my DH works evenings so planning a time to DTD is tricky.

I have to go next wk for my blood work to check for clotting issues/Antiphospholipid Syndrome. My dr wanted me to wait 12 wks out to give my body a chance to normalize. Part of me hoped I'd be pregnant again by now but since that's not a reality, I'm nervous for the outcome. I don't know if I'd rather hear there was an issue for the huge hemmorhage that caused my miscarriage at 17 wks or that nothing's wrong and it was just all crappy luck.

Either way, I have my annual obgyn appt the following week so that will be a good follow up.
  • @szwill86 I am very sorry either outcome doesn't seem comforting at this point. I hope you do get some answers though with the testing.

  • Hi Ladies! I was keeping an eye out for this post. CD 13 here, and I usually ovulate around 16/17. We will be on my company's annual retreat for the weekend, but should have plenty of time to make things happen. I had posted a couple weeks ago getting opinions on this... We were supposed to bring our niece with us but then changed the plans when we realized we'd be in the window this weekend. Her mom was so pissed at us initially for changing plans, but it worked out because we are all getting together next weekend. I haven't been temping or using OPKs yet this month, but will start doing the OPKs today just to make sure. I've been right on the mark the last couple months with ovulating on CD 16/17, so hopefully it keeps up!! Fingers crossed for everyone!!

  • @silentP that sounds like a good idea :) I love being armed with as much science as possible ;)

@lilylover27 fx for better timing and more BDing now that you're both more relaxed and especially because you are feeling more ready to move forward <3

@szwill86 I hope testing gives you answers and/or in some way brings you peace <3

@natsfan2442 glad things have worked out, in the end, and fx for your O!

I'm on cd14 or 15 and I had a temp dip yesterday followed by a fairly decent spike today so I'm really hoping I O'd yesterday because it would make our timing awesome :):) I know only time will really tell but maybe OPKs will help confirm today. Also, my cervix seemed a *little* firmer than yesterday but it could just be wishful thinking lol FX my next temps give a clear indication!

PS: I continue to dream about CM/EWCM  :D
  • I'm at CD8 today, and I've gotten light spotting the past two days which is really weird for me. My life feels so in limbo right now because I might be transferring jobs. Not a big fan of my current one, and I don't want to pass up the opportunity if it's there.

We're taking it a little easy on TTC this month because of it, but honestly if I get pregnant I'm just going to try to not worry about it and go through with the transfer anyway if I get it. I shouldn't have to compromise my career for a perfectly normal life event.
  • CD 11 here. I should ovulate next week-ish, I think? We are benched pending my August 15th RE consult. I mentioned this is another post, but I got my RE testing back and it all looks good, with a weirdly high AMH that I need to learn more about.

Question for the group that I thought I would ask here- does anyone else have sleep issues the week before ovulation? I had horrible sleep issues my last month TTC that I blame for my bad egg since I ended up ovulating really late. I was sleeping like a champ the last few months post-loss, but the last 2 days the old issues are starting to come back. Curious if anyone else has cyclical insomnia?
  • Oooo @chloe97 this is an interesting question. I have poor sleeps most of the time but sometimes it's definitely worse than others. Could be interesting to track from now on. I know I slept terribly last night but blamed it on DH being out of town hmmm
  • @chloe97 i usually sleep like a rock but i've noticed since ttcal i'm all kinds of anxious in my sleep, mostly around O and impending AF. I think it's because I'm anxious about what my temp will be in the morning so it's causing issues. I wouldn't say it's insomnia, more like it's restless sleep.

  • Hi everyone! CD9 for me...we are taking it easy as well for this cycle since this is the first time trying again since the miscarriage.

@lilylover27 I have just recently started pinning  to my secret board as well.

I have a question...anyone ever had to take progesterone? My OB wants me to start taking it at CD16. I was only on it barely a week before I miscarried. I didn't really have any side effects. What should I expect?

  • @SouthernMommaCL I have taken it in the past and will with my medicated cycles as well. My RE had me start at DPO4, and my understanding is you don't want to start until after ovulation so the CD16 is interesting to hear as a blanket start date.

With the oral pills I was super tired from them. I was pregnant at the time to it was hard to distinguish symptoms.
With the vaginal suppositories I had in creamy CM, weird dreams and some increased breast tenderness. Everyone is different but usually the progesterone mimics pregnancy symptoms. Just what everyone wants right?

it will also delay AF so heads up on that. I know some people also have a much heavier period when taking it.

  • @lilylover27 I have been pinning to my secret board the whole time. It has somehow helped me in some ways I think.

In an odd turn of events I may have ovulated yesterday and/or will sooner than expected. I had a bunch of pelvic pain yesterday, more than normal O actually. I took an OPK yesterday evening and it looked positive to me (mine are the ones that have the line that has to be as dark as or darker than the teat line). This morning it was clearly negative. A little confused, but we had sex last night and 2 nights before that, so we will see! Just kind of strange if it happened because I have been pretty much always been around CD 16/17. Bodies are weird!

  • @natsfan2442 I agree that bodies are weird! I am only temping to confirm O not using OPKs, but may start that soon, and O has been very inconsistent lately. I used to O around CD 15/16 and get AF around DPO 13/14. Now I am having O anywhere from CD 11-13 and now AF came this time at DPO 10, so who knows what is going on! I just wish it were easier, I am always freaking myself out thinking some hormone level is not right and causing wonky cycles post MC.

  • @SnobunnieMel That is interesting. I think I will call the nurse to check on it before I start taking it. I was ovulating really early before the miscarriage, my cycles were only 23 days. Maybe that's why?

  • @lilylover27 I'm CONSTANTLY thinking the same and try to stop myself, but it's hard <3

Exciting day: my Wondfos came a day early!!! And I also had held my bladder and not had anything to drink because I was out and about so of course I tested right away lol I've been doing the dollar store ones this week and I think I already ovulated or had a false surge. I never got a positive OPK but only used one per day and can only hold my bladder for so long and they were getting darker and now they're much lighter, coinciding with a potential temp shift soooooo FX?!

Is that what happens for you ladies? They lighten way up after you O?
  • @rainbowturtles yup. Mine go back to looking how they did before I got a positive opk. But I use two a day so I see the gradual change moreso than if I did one a day.

If you want to be a weirdo like me, I tape them to a piece of paper one under the other with the date and CD and just add each day that I do them bc sometimes I can't remember if it was darker or lighter the day before. They all start to look the same after a while lol

oooo good idea! I was trying to think of how to do it lol I was going to take pictures and wondered what others did :) I keep this crap in my hair tools drawer and just hope DH has no need to go in there. He doesn't need to know all the behind the scenes  :D
  • Sorry for being MIA the past week. Life has been crazy. CD 14 today and got a positive OPK with some watery and EWCM. We've pretty much been HIO every day so I know we will have good timing this month. Just waiting to see what my temps do over the next few days.

I got cross hairs this morning so I'm moving over to TWW...first TWW with good timing! So funny, DH is back tonight and obviously I'm super excited but I laughed to myself that I "don't need him now"  :D Not true, but TTC brain is funny lol

CD9 but I don't temp, I'm afraid I would be totally OCD but might consider in the near future (esp. since I turn 38 at the end of this month!). It's our first cycle after benched for 7 months so I'm not putting a ton of stock in this one....my cycles became very irregular as I was going on and off my thyroid meds.

Edit as I Grammar Police'd myself.

  • @rainbowturtles LOL, at "I don't need him now". My husband used to say that to me at the end of my fertile week. It was a running joke after I exhausted his "resources" and then tossed him aside.
  • That's why I refuse to tell him I'm in my FW @BornReady lol Because I'm sure he'd think that  :D I might end up having to tell him at some point, but I'll let him live in ignorance for now ;) The last thing I need is performance anxiety from him knowing the stakes are high ;)
  • CD 8, been on my period the whole first 8 days of my cycle, what the heck??? I'm going to start OPK's tomorrow, and I am just crossing my fingers like crazy that this is my month!!!

  • CD1, glad to be moving over here as I'm tired of getting my hopes up and getting BFN's all week!  Realized today that we conceived on this exact cycle (to the due date) last year with our miscarriage.

I've had short luteal phases of 9-12 days for the past year, but started taking vitex last month and finally got a 14 day luteal phase, so I'm optimistic that this cycle is going to be better.  If we don't have any luck this month I think I'm ready to move on to RE.  I'm 35 now and we've been trying over a year, and 5 months since my most recent miscarriage.

Is anyone trying the Sperm Meet Egg Plan?  Or another pattern of BD?  We generally just go every other day for that week.

  • @lilyaster I did SPEM and got pregnant. My ovulation was delayed that month and so it got to be a lot! I think we BD-d 9 times in a 2 week period- which was a lot, but DH didn't mind. It was like when we first started dating all over again ;-)

AFM I'm still on the bench, but I'm tracking this cycle to figure out what my body is going to try to do. Cd 14 today. I had a bit of semi-fertile EWCM yesterday and an almost positive OPK this morning. FF tells me my FW starts Monday, but I'm thinking I may ovulate earlier this month which would be wonderful. I blame my late ovulation for my Triploidy baby.

  • Howdy! Its CD9 for me - I'm not charting right now because of how f'ed up our life feels right now (FIL is starting cancer treatment this week, husband so busy with work, due date looming, ugh) However, I usually O about day 12 or 13. This is our first cycle trying, or not trying to prevent and I'm so anxious about it. I'm not sure I'm ready to go through a first trimester again...

  • CD 1, but the day hasn't been that bad. Took my oldest dog to the vet where she had a great check up, so we took her to the dog park as a treat. Then I got my hair done - love it! And then got a pedicure with my SIL (who was already one of my BFFs when she started dating my brother). Nice treats on a day I wish had turned out differently.

  • Cd 12 here. Missed this cycle of clomid, so not sure how this cycle will go. Out of the country and have no way to temp and no opks. Checking cervix though, it's low and softening. Fx to everyone this month, hopefully we will be moving to the grad thread soon!
  • I go here now  :(

CD 1 after a very short 9 day LP. I got 7dpo progesterone testing so I'm interested to see what that will show when I finally get the results. I'm trying to remember that bodies do weird things post MC and keep up hope that my LP will go back to normal (11-12 days). And I guess on the bright side since I obviously wasn't KU, now I can start the next cycle sooner?  :|

AFM now that I know I ovulate so late I can basically take an entire month off from the TTC crazies and it feels wonderful. I'm on CD17 and still have nearly two weeks before I even get into my FW. This cycle there's even been a couple days I've forgotten to temp   :o
