TTC After a Loss

**August Waiting to O!**

Re: **August Waiting to O!**

  • @ladipale I temp then get up at 5:20 every morning for work and I find that my temps are good enough to detect a clean shift even though I have to get up to pee around 4 about half the time and get randomly harassed by my cat the other half. I figure even if I end up with a less than perfect chart, it gives me a little more info to work off of and it doesn't cost me anything more than the cheapo thermometer. I might feel differently if I got to get out of bed at 8 and had to interrupt my sleep for it though lol.

You'll probably be fine as long as you try to be consistent about the time and not moving around right before you temp.

@BitterBetty12 it's like your ovaries sensed my ovaries trigger injection. Let's do this!!
@DungeonTrollMel I've never been so proud of my ovaries! Even from all the way across the country they caught the trigger vibes. See you on the other side in the TWW after you're done HIO 5x a day  ;)

  • Sorry you're having such a hard day @BitterBetty12 :( wonky cycles after loss really are just adding insult to injury and are completely unfair <3 updated to add YAY that things are looking more promising :)

@lin0442 what your mom said was very dismissive and invalidating. My mom has tried to say "helpful" things before like "It took me 9 years to get pregnant" or "I was 33 when I had you". Um okay, way to make it all about you AND I'm 34 so that last one is no longer comforting, if it ever even was lmao

If I didn't know I was cd8 I would swear something hormonal was happening because I was in tears most of the morning, about any little thing! I think it was just the poor sleep I had. I got a lot done today, including a hike even tho I really wanted to just go home to sleep more, so I'm feeling accomplished and hoping after a rest that I'll still be able to make dinner lol DH is OOT tonight so at least there's no pressure (about dinner or HIO).

QUESTION! For those of you that set alarms to take your temp, how does DH feel about it? I was waking up around 530 pretty consistently for a while there but have been having weird sleeps lately. This morning we had to get up at 530 but I had already been tossing and turning and think I had the most shallow of sleeps so I didn't temp. I'm going to set the alarm tonight bc DH isn't home and maybe two 530 wake ups will get my body back in the habit. But I just can't see DH being cool with me setting an alarm to temp that is before the alarm for him to get up lol

  • @rainbowturtles Do you have a Fitbit? I use the vibrate alarm feature so it can wake me up, but not DH.
    rainbowturtlesBitterBetty12
  • edited August 2016
Oooo vibrate only alarm might be an option! I don't have a Fitbit but might try it on my phone. We're both super light sleepers unfortunately but he might mistake the phone vibrate for me just grabbing my thermometer, which I think he notices most mornings anyways, so if I'm super fast or say "oops" it might do the trick :D

ETA: for a while he thought the thermometer beep was me accidentally having an alarm set lmao I recall him saying a couple of times "to the dog" in a cute voice: "who sets an alarm on the weekend, huh?" Hahaha thankfully my new thermometer is much quieter tho sometimes I think it takes 90s to read  :#
    BitterBetty12
  • @rainbowturtles I think DH does somewhat notice when I take my temp, but since our talk about how he thinks it's stressing me out more he hasn't mentioned it. I do wish there was a BBT that didn't beep as much or as loudly.

Today would have been my c-section... and here I am, still not pregnant. Since our pregnancy loss (which took a month to get through and 2 surgeries) we have buried my grandfather and are now struggling through my FIL's cancer diagnosis. ALL the grief is overwhelming for me today. The baby and my grandpa and wondering whats going to happen with FIL.

We didn't try in April, May or June (or really July because I was away from DH during FW) and our one shot before due date came and went and I'm left with a pile of grief.

  • Hi all! I'm new(ish) here. I've been lurking for a month now or so and haven't posted much. I had a miscarriage almost 10 weeks ago and my period still has not returned
    rainbowturtles
  • Hello @leighawilson91 - sorry for your loss ;( Did you OB give you instructions on how long to wait before calling if your period didn't return? I was told 6 weeks.. mine came back a few days shy of 6 weeks after D&C

  • @leighawilson91 sorry for your loss <3 I'd also say it sounds like you should check in with one of your doctors. I think anything beyond 60 days without AF you're supposed to see someone <3
  • I'm CD9 and just set up my "OPK station" in a drawer in the bathroom lol It was suggested that I tape my OPKs to a piece of paper to see the progression, so I have OPKs, paper, tape, a pen, and a cup to pee in. I feel prepared!

Other than that, I had an awful sleep again and feel yucky. Planning on doing nothing except practice some music and get all pretty later because I'm going to an open mic/jam tonight :)

@ladipale Beautiful tattoo idea. So simple and meaningful. @rainbowturtles
I actually didn't see a doctor until I was 4 weeks post miscarriage because we moved temporarily overseas right around the time it happened. I saw a doctor at that point because I was still spotting quite a bit. He told me that my period would probably return within a couple weeks. I just saw a doctor again yeaterday since it still hasn't returned and he prescribed be Provera. He said it may or may not work. Fingers crossed it helps get things going.

    rainbowturtles
  • @ladipale I think that is such a beautiful tattoo idea  <3

    @rainbowturtles Yay OPK station!

@leighawilson91 So sorry for your loss. I hope the provera does the trick for you!

  • @szwill86 yes thank you! I couldn't remember who suggested it, sorry! Also thank you for the GL! I did perform :) I play ukulele and sing. I was already nervous because I was trying out some new songs and strumming patterns plus I hadn't been in a while. Then I went to plug in and the pick up on my uke had died so we had to mic the ukulele and that's way harder than it sounds...risk of screeching and whatnot. So it was wayyyy more stressful lol But thankfully there were some awesome folks in the crowd that were trying to keep people somewhat quiet so I could be heard (and hear my own instrument) and I got lots of compliments afterwards :):):)

I actually did a little experiment yesterday. Because of IC I have a hard time holding my pee so I wanted to see if it made much of a difference. I stopped drinking at 238pm and peed several times before deciding to test at 4pm. Then I continued to not hydrate and held my pee until around 630 and tested again. The lines were pretty much the same. So I don't think I have to make myself too uncomfortable or dehydrated to get a decent reading and that makes me happy :)

@leighawilson91 glad you saw a dr again and I hope the provera works <3

How are all my other patient/impatient ladies WTO??

I'm CD13 and was hoping for O on CD14 for a few reasons but who knows. My OPKs suck but I'm not sure they're going to be something I rely on. CM was good the past three days. Checking cp as soon as I get up. Trying for more BDing tonight, regardless. Trying to remain hopeful but feeling a little weird about this cycle now. Only time will tell :) Still happy to have better CM this go around!!!

Might do a fertility meditation later to turn my mind :)

    Hope everyone is well!!!

ETA: I might have spoken too soon. I took an OPK this morning even tho they say to take them later in the day because I plan on taking two or three today. Well, it's not positive, but the line is a lot darker than it has been :) Hoping I can catch a + later!!!
    chloe97
  • Wahoo for a closer to positive line, @rainbowturtles! Sounds like good signs for everything else! FX for you!

I'm only CD 6, so I'll stay here for the rest of August (usually get a pos OPK between CD 15-21) then hop on over to "September waiting to O" when it's created :#

I ordered some fertility bracelets off Etsy and I'm dying at work bc I saw they were delivered today. If it doesn't help, at least they will look pretty on my wrist!! Me rn at work:

    rainbowturtles
  • Ooooo @szwill86 what are fertility bracelets??!!
  • Get it together FF...I'm only CD10 and negative OPKs. Stop telling me I'm on my most fertile day just because of my CM. Haha!

  • When do you usually O @taggarab ??? Regardless, if you're having fertile cm, I'd be BDing!!! (Ps: my most fertile cm was cd 10 and 11 but my OPK is only darkening today; cd 13, and I tend to O on cd 14 sooooo who knows??)
  • It has been CD 14-16 recently so I don't think I'm quite there yet @rainbowturtles. If it is a weird month though, we have BDed the last 4 days straight so I would be in good shape. Hah!

  • I'm on CD8 and starting OPKs today... I usually O between CD 10 - 12... so, BDing EOD right now until I get a positive OPK...

The seller was extremely helpful with sizing and questions. No harm, no foul and at least I'll look pretty while TTC, right?? :)
