R/R: DH broke his pinky last week playing kickball. The doctor gave him a hard cast to his elbow (for a pinky??) that has made BDing incredibly difficult lately. Fumbling is the only word to describe it. We're working through it, but there has been a lot of laughing. He's going to the doctor today and hopefully they'll give him something smaller, we've got important days coming up!

GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! Tough question!! I feel like I've been to a lot of great parties. I mean, I would probably say my wedding. Great band, and everyone just danced the night away. Another was a wedding in Mexico. Sadly the marriage didn't last, but we were dancing until 7 am when they served breakfast!
R/R: We were doing pretty good with EOD, which was my goal. I see so many women on here who seem to go everyday during their FW and I just don't know how you all manage that. EOD was a challenge. I am excited because I got my first positive OPK on Monday but we didn't BD do to moving and being exhausted so hopefully that doesn't hurt us too much.
CS/Q: I got a positive OPK on Monday. From everything I read this means you WILL ovulate in the next 12-36 hours. I took an OPK on Tuesday and it was negative but the second line was partly there. So my question is: When you are actually ovulating with the OPK be positive or negative? I'm trying to figure out If my negative test on tuesday meant I ovulated monday or tuesday. I know there is no way to know really right now. But any experience you have to share would be great.
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to!
I have no idea. I am not much of a party person sorry
R/R: Tonight my company is headed to an Orioles game! We have a catered suite, so I'm excited! I'm not realy an O's fan (I'm a Philly girl), but it'll still be fun!

GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! I have two, in this order.
1. Our wedding reception was baller. I always say I would go back relive that entire day over and over again because I can't remember a night I was that happy despite all of the of the screwed up things that go wrong during a wedding. 2. In Barcelona, on my 21st birthday. We started the night making dinner in my friends apartment which was the perfect way to start a night that ended on the roof top playing pretend football whilst spouting lines from Ace Ventura, of what was supposedly David Beckham's old house that they turned into a night club. Epic night.

WAYDTGKU: lots of things
R/R: Last night, my husband wanted to see the FF app and was asking what it all meant. It was a super lighthearted conversation but I was happy to see him taking such an interest.
CS/Q: Not today!
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to!
My definition of what a good party is has changed drastically in the past 10 years! We had some pretty epic parties in college but I also really enjoy big family parties with lots of good food. And to copy everyone else, my first thought was our wedding because of course it was the best.
R/R: AF has finally gone on her merry way! yeeeeeessssssss. No more self-imposed sexile for me! I have never been so acutely aware of how long a cycle takes. I am definitely that person who never paid any attention to anything pertaining to fertility.
CS/Q: Nothing today
GTKY: I would have said my own wedding, but to be honest, I was so busy being the bride and running around being social and saying hi to every single guest that I missed a lot of the party! Everyone else who was there said it was an awesome day, and it was definitely the most special day, but not the best party for me. That distinction goes to my best friend's wedding, in which I was the matron of honor. Oh my god I danced for like 3 hours straight, the food was amazing, the venue was so awesome, the desserts were to die for, the bar was open all night long, and I didn't have to worry about missing any guests because I was a guest myself. I think my favorite part was towards the end of the night, a lot of us left the pavilion and went up through this winding path to a green lawn that overlooked the ocean. My friend's uncle had moored his boat at a buoy in front of the venue, and they had wrapped the entire boat in little twinkle lights. The fogged rolled in, and it was just a lot of happily drunk people gazing out at the lights, and the fog had muffled all the sounds so it was very quiet and intimate and just really a lovely memory.

GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! Is that terrible to say the cliche, I would have loved to have been a guest at my own wedding!? lol I can't think of anything right now that topped it!
@aboxofchocolates - I get two days of positive OPKs and my O temp dip usually happens on the second positive day. (Of course, today should be my second positive and there was no dip...) The LH surge helps to signal ovulation, but I would assume that whether you ovulate when you have a positive test or after has to do with how quickly your body metabolizes the LH.
R/R: I was super proud of my prettiest chart ever this cycle, but now it's pulling strange stuff and not giving me my O temp dip on the usual day. Boo, chart. Boo.
CS/Q: None today. Hoping O is today or tomorrow.

GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! I threw some pretty amazing parties in college but I don't think I can pinpoint a favorite. At least not that would be a favorite at this point in my life. My wedding is definitely not a favorite our families are so different I was waiting for a war lol everyone did get along but the stress of it was enough to take away the fun. My best friends wedding was pretty awesome though.
CD: 3 (I love it when my period starts on the 1st of the month, it makes this so easy to remember!)
WAYDTGKU: bleeding, PNVs
R/R: My temp randomly spiked up .5 degree to my normal post-O level this morning, and my stomach felt really weird last night, and now I have definite tummy troubs. Thinking it might be hormonal and related to AF given the temp weirdness. I hate having tummy troubs at work. it is awkward. On the rave side, I slept really well last night, and I successfully got DD to put herself to sleep (she normally nurses to sleep at night) without tears. She stopped nursing and stuck her thumb in her mouth, so I figured "well ok then" and put her in her crib without giving her time to decide if she actually wanted to nurse again (which she would normally do). She flopped around quietly for about 15 minutes and then fell asleep. Yay!
CS/Q: nothing right now
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! God I have no idea. The first set of our college friends to get married had an awesomely fun wedding, at a Dirty Dancing-style resort where everything was on-site and the only people staying there were wedding guests. So the combination of us all drinking heavily and being secluded from outsiders (and not needing to drive anywhere) made it really fun! There was a keg floating around in the pool at one point. The people that owned that resort must have hated us.
WAYDTGKU: Sex, Temping, Checking CM, Vitex, CoQ10, Waiting for a Drs. appt.
R/R: I have a hair appointment today. My salon really pampers you so I'm kinda viewing it as a birthday present to me even though I really need a haircut anyway.
CS/Q: I'm curious: I see a lot of ladies put PNV on their WAYDTGKU. I do take PNV, but I've never really viewed it as something to help getting KU, but I guess I'm only taking it because I am trying to get KU. For those that do or don't put it down, what's your reasoning? I know it doesn't really matter but it's just something I've been wondering about.
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! Yeah, I'm not a party person. I'm more of an intimate get-together kind of person. That said, we throw a Halloween party every year (8 years running) and it's usually a blast. It's never a large party but we have all our friends and we have a theme for costumes, decorating and food. I haven't come up with our theme for this year yet. I probably need to start thinking about it. Last year was Roaring 20's.
R/R: I posted on WTO late last night that I managed to screw something up and upset DH which meant no HIO. I'm on day 3 of more EWCM than ever and flashing smiley so we need to get our act together. The CBADs are just so weird I've also been doing intermittent wondfos. I just am worried I will be flashing smiley for a long time- I had this "gear up" last cycle and didn't O until CD 22. No Bueno.
CS/Q: just keep swimming...
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! I agree that the definition of this has totally changed over the years. My junior prom was SO FUN by junior prom standards with a great pregame and after party. Our wedding had a lot of stress but was a blast too.

@momtoleo Woah - to the elbow?? That sounds pretty excessive lol - I'm not a dr., but when I broke my ring finger I just had a finger cast..
@aboxofchocolates The OPK measures the surge of lutenizing hormone right before you ovulate. It doesn't measure when you ovulate per se - only that once that hormone is released, you have about 12 - 36 hrs before you will ovulate. The surge doesn't last long for some women and it's possible that you test once with a positive and then the next day you get a negative.
R/R: Yesterday I had my yearly gyn appointment. She checked me out and talked to me a bit about our TTC plans. When I first told her last year (or the year before?) that we were starting to investigate having a baby, she asked me "Why'd you wait so long?" In my head, I'm like - WTF. I didn't get married til I was 35. Lay off, cow. (She's French - which I guess is a good excuse for her bluntness) Then she goes on telling me all these risks that increase with AMA - like downs and mc and stuff. And I nod - cuz I already knew all that crap. ANYWAYS - flash forward to yesterday and she asks me what we're doing. So I tell her - and I tell her cycle length and O dates and how much we HIO and all that. Then she asks me "Do you get up after sex?" Well, yeah. She said 'don't.' Soooo - that can't be right can it?? I mean, I figure if the sperm is up in there, it's up in there - does gravity really pull it down that much after it's up there?? I googled it and apparently it's 'inconclusive' - but websites say it doesn't hurt to lay there for 15 mins afterwards. I never knew that - have you guys been doing that all along..?
CS/Q: uh - I guess I had a question in my R/R
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to!
@hezzer78 The laying down and putting your legs up thing is inconclusive and controversial, I know when I was active on here last summer there were several ladies who were opposed to it. My doc told me the same thing yours did, though. If you are prone to infection I'd say it's a bad idea, otherwise it probably doesn't hurt.

Month/Cycle: 2/2
CD:6
R/R: I think I stopped bleeding! Hooray! But today I have watery CM, already, which happened last month too. And last month my temps indicated possible ovulation a week after the watery CM. Weird. I hope this month the temps line up with the CM. I weaned my son so hoping that helps for a more regular cycle. But, of course, now that entered the watery CM into FF, the app is all "YOU'RE MOST FERTILE! DO IT NOW!"
CS/Q: So this morning was my first morning using an actual BBT. I was just using a regular old thermometer before. Do they all take a full 60 seconds to take your temp? Does that make it more accurate? Also, my temp with the BBT was lower than all my other temps on the regular thermometer, should I trust the BBT one to be correct? I can't think of any outside factors that may have influenced the temp.
GTKY: Although I had a great time at my wedding, the bride has so many responsibilities I feel like it is very different from being a guest at a party. Best party I have been to is probably my cousin's wedding, they had it on the family property with a pavilion. Very casual, no time limit to the reception. BBQ catering, a keg, and box wine. Everyone danced till super late, then there was a bonfire and we set off those floaty lantern things. We stayed up till 3am drinking and hanging out with family. It was so much fun.
EDITED because oh my god I don't know why it wouldn't show the whole thing. I removed the emoji at the beginning and it finally allowed me to post it. Tablet does not like emojis?? Sorry for the multiple comments and edits guys.

GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! Well clearly my wedding. But after that would come one of my BFF's 21st birthdays. Her B-day fell on the Sunday before Labor Day. She was the youngest of our little clique and boy did we do it up. It was a really classy night out in good ol' Seaside Heights, NJ (you know before Snooks came to town). It ended with one passed out, head on a table, another on the boards screaming through her cell at her bf (he deserved it), while I held the birthday girl's hair back in the bathroom. Oh to be 21 again.
@hezzer78 Seriously, I thought it was excessive. But, I guess it's something about where the break is located and tendons, etc. Who knows. Update from the doctor's office...instead of getting a smaller cast, they're giving him a new, harder one. Great...
Also, I do stay immobile for a little while after BD. I know it's inconclusive, but I feel like it can't hurt, right? I've never gotten an infection. I've also jokingly tried that legs in the air thing, but it's just uncomfortable and not sustainable. Plus it just looks ridiculous.
R/R: Rant : Just getting impatient waiting to O. Still no fertile signs. Hopefully soon!
Rave : We are moving into our new place next week and we'll officially be first time home owners! Thus my reason for not being on TB as much this last week. We've been going crazy getting everything ready to move.
CS/Q: Nada today
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! Probably my cousin's wedding and it was all due to the dancing. The strange thing is - and trust me folks I'm totally pro booze - but this was a very conservative, booze free (in a baptist church which had just approved dancing the month before) place and all the people there were breaking it out like footloose. There was break dancing and girls being flipped over their boyfriends arms.... I've never seen anything like it. The energy was insane, everyone was sopping wet with sweat, but it was one of the best times I've ever had!

@hezzer78 I halfway think laying there for 15 minutes is ridiculous, but also I did it the cycle I got KU with DD, so who knows. At that point I was just so desperate to be pregnant that I figured it couldn't hurt (note: I have never had a bladder infection, yeast infection, or UTI, so I wasn't worried about that). I also made it a point to orgasm every time during FW because some people claim that helps. I was doing it all, man. I was not messing around. ;-)
@BarefootandPurple congrats on being first time home owners!! I'm hoping me and DH will be able to say the same thing in a few years from now. @bswishe4 I'm with you on the wedding thing. @hezzer78 I agree with @delujm0 that laying with my butt propped up always feels ridiculous to me, but it can't hurt. Plus, DH always gets up to wash up first, so it gives me like 10-15 min to let gravity work for me.

@MandyBeeSLP PNVs can help you with your overall health (like getting enough D3 or Iron which many women don't get enough of). When your overall health is good you are more likely to get pregnant faster. I have definitely head of D3 deficiencies hurting your fertility.
@hezzer78 So I don't think it will harm you to sit there for a few extra minutes unless you are prone to UTIs. If you are then it's more important to get up and pee immediately. That being said, I can't imagine it actually helping anything unless maybe your H has problems with his sperm? I think normal sperm pretty much zip right up there.

GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! Well I have been to an awful lot since I went to college at Arizona State University... but honestly my favorite parties are weddings! The best one being that which I met my now H at
@hezzer78 It feels impossible to me that you'd need to keep lying there afterward, but... honestly I will probably start doing that now! Your gyno sounds awful by the way. Yech.
@JackieMarie1989 I started out using a regular thermometer from CVS but switched to a BBT thermometer recommended on these boards in cycle two. I didn't notice a difference between the two. The BBT thermometer does take longer to read but I don't think it's a full minute (or I am so tired I don't notice the time slipping away). The main benefit is that with my old one, it didn't remember the temp so I had to record immediately. This one remembers so I can go back to sleep on weekends!
@BarefootandPurple Yay for your new home! I hope your O is delayed because of moving stress and comes your way ASAP!
R/R: DH and I are celebrating our two month wedding anniversary this weekend by getting a hotel room and a steak dinner. I know it's a silly anniversary to celebrate, but I had a free hotel night from work travel to use up! So excited.
CS/Q: I did a bunch of research yesterday on why I would have a temp dip and a lot of EWCM 2dpo (because I am pretty sure I O'd CD17). Apparently it is not uncommon to have an estrogen spike on 2dpo that causes both things! If your EWCM disappears and temp goes back up 3dpo, you can confirm your O -- and that describes me today on both accounts. What a relief! I'll be over in TWW starting tomorrow.
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to!
Is it cheating for me to say our wedding, too? I tried to take a laid-back, low-stress approach and had such a wonderful time. I didn't worry about saying hi to every single guest and I made sure to eat EVERYTHING. We spent the last hour dancing. It was fantastic.
@kissthesky32 It was though moving to MD, I miss all my Philly sports teams! I especially miss watching the Eagles! @JackieMarie1989 Luckily the Phillies aren't in the same league so I still cheer for the O's!

I went from circle straight to solid smiley on my CB digi on CD 14. On CD 16 I saw a temp drop and took another test out of curiosity (the original smiley face was gone when I took it) and got another solid smiley face. Has anyone else had this happen? I've read that it can go straight to solid smiley if both hormones surge at the same time, so I'm wondering if the first solid smiley was the start of my surge (of both hormones) and the second one was the peak? My guess from my chart is that I O'd on CD 16, but we HIO an extra night just in case. I used a wondfo opk this morning and yesterday afternoon and it came back negative, but still had a decent line.
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! My own wedding reception was probably the most fun I've had, but besides that it was another wedding we went to where DH was the best man..... except the couple got divorced 9 months later (after dating for like 10 years!) so we don't talk about that wedding!
WAYDTGKU: PNVs, B6, CoQ10, losing weight, eating healthy, green tea. I'm going to start temping in a day or two and OPKs starting on CD 8.

CS/Q: Nothing yet but I'm not very experienced with temping, so I may have questions later this month.
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! I would say my wedding because I really do think it was the best, but because everyone thinks their wedding is the best, I will say my oldest brother's wedding. @momtoleo Hope your H's pinky heals quickly...a cast all the way to the elbow does seem like overkill, haha. @aboxofchocolates Don't worry, research has shown that EOD is almost just as effective as ED. Also, a postive OPK does not necessarily mean you WILL ovulate, but that it is likely in the next 12-36 hours. However, it is possible to get a positive OPK and then not ovulate. Temping or an u/s is the only way to truly confirm. @bornmommy Celebrating your 21st in Barcelona sounds fab (even though I guess you could drink there before turning 21, ha). I had my most hungover day EVER in Barcelona which, of course, means I had an awesome night! @businesswife Good morning!! I had to wake up early to go in for my CD u/s and bloodwork. FX you get confirmed O soon! Isn't it funny how we were cycle buddies a couple cycles ago and now you are so far ahead of me!! @ahrains hiya! Hope your busy day goes by quickly. @bswishe4 I just got the new HP book yesterday! I am only on page 100, though. My niece is also super into HP (thanks to an awesome birthday gift she received from her aunt a couple years ago ;-)) and she keeps texting me because she is further than me and I'm all, "IF YOU RUIN THIS FOR ME, I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!" I'm very mature. @mandybeeSLP The PNV thing has always been a (very petty) pet peeve of mine...it doesn't do anything as far as helping you get pregnant!!! Haha...on another note, are you a speech/language pathologist? @hezzer78 I DO usually lay in bed for about 15 minutes after sex, but I'm on cycle 12 so clearly it's not doing much for me, ha. I've read many places that the spermies get to where they need to go within seconds, so I don't think it truly matters. When I do it, H is all, "Do you think the teenagers who get KU on accident do this?" Good point, H. @barefootandpurple Uggghh, we are also mid-move and I am SO overwhelmed. Hopefully we never move again, haha. Congrats on the home!! @juliebeannn Ew. Sorry about CD1. @Krisnicole23 This sounds awful, but we love using preseed because then we don't have to take as long with foreplay when we're just trying to HIO real quick. R/R: This is a testing cycle for us at the RE so I did my CD3 work today and go in next week for my HSG. I'm a little nervous, but mostly just excited to get this show on the road.
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! You guuuuuuuuuuuys, I'm really glad you all had such awesome wedding receptions, but I really wanted to hear some Project X-style stories!!! Just kidding... kind of In college I lived with 6 other girls and we threw one party that was a huge success (it was always a toss up if people would show, lol). The best part was that I was waitressing earlier in the day and served some guys who were promoters for an energy drink. They asked what I was doing for the rest of the day, so I gave them our address and invited them to the party (looking back, probably not the safest idea, ha). Anyway, I didn't really expect them to show but then around midnight they came in with loads of promotional gear (hats, necklaces, t-shirts, etc.) and cases upon cases of energy drinks. Everyone was super excited and we pretended like our party was sponsored, ha. We felt really cool. eta: tense typo
@felix08 It's actually not true that PNV do nothing for fertility. There are many vitamins in there that women (and men! so make your H take multi vitamins too!) are deficient in without knowing it and it does affect their fertility.
Here's a study looking at vitamin D and fertility:
@momtoleo How long are they estimating that he will need that cast for? Hopefully you can still get some good timing in.
@aboxofchocolates@hartmich I hear EOD is actually better than ED, but my husband can be pretty hard to contain! haha! We've pretty much always had EOD timing even when we were not TTC.
@marybpoppins Have fun at the ball game! I love baseball and would love to go to any game, even if it wasn't my team playing.
@bornmommy Isn't BCN the best? I have so many great memories from my time in BCN. I was there for 6 months!
@tourmalily You are definity not alone. I did not know anything about my fertility or body before TTC. Honestly, I couldn't even tell you what my typical cycle length was before, let alone temping, CM, luteal phase length, etc.
@BusinessWife Fx for O soon. Or at least confirmed O through FF. I completely understand the need to uninstall TB from mobile. It can become so obsessive and time consuming. I try to do most of my bumping in the morning (DH has already left for work) or while I'm at work. I TRY to stay off of it in the evenings, but I'm not always successful. I like all you ladies and all the knowledge and support that we share.
@adirat Any reason to get away and celebrate is not silly in my books! Enjoy yourselves! Also, glad you were able to research an answer for your CM after O.

WAYDTGKU: PNV, preseed, BD EOD, etc., etc.
CS/Q:
GTKY: Tell us about the best party you've ever been to! Tough question!! I feel like I've been to a lot of great parties. I mean, I would probably say my wedding. Great band, and everyone just danced the night away. Another was a wedding in Mexico. Sadly the marriage didn't last, but we were dancing until 7 am when they served breakfast!
CD: 17
WAYDTGKU: OPK, PNV, BBT, CM, CP, EOD (kinda)

Epic night.

I have never been to a party before. Cray right? So the next best thing would have to be our wedding reception. It was on a cruise ship before it departed. Everyone had so much fun and really got into it and regretted not booking to cruise with us

R/R: I got the new Harry Potter book today! My husband thinks I'm ridiculous but I grew up reading them and I am so excited to read it that I will probably read it in between patients all day. I can basically guarantee it will be finished by tomorrow.
CS/Q: Nope

@JackieMarie1989 Luckily the Phillies aren't in the same league so I still cheer for the O's!

@juliebeannn Ew. Sorry about CD1.
@Krisnicole23 This sounds awful, but we love using preseed because then we don't have to take as long with foreplay when we're just trying to HIO real quick. FW is not always romantic, ha!

Just kidding... kind of
In college I lived with 6 other girls and we threw one party that was a huge success (it was always a toss up if people would show, lol).

*edited because I used the wrong "effect v. affect" - I always get those mixed up.
