@MonaLisaRalphio I find it really fascinating that pregnant women feel comfortable enough to drink alcohol in public in your area. I don't think I have ever seen that and would never feel comfortable doing it myself. (ETA because it is not a social norm here)
I did not drink any alcohol while pregnant with DD, but I may have a small glass of wine with this one especially around the holidays.
Part of me wants to drink it in front of my Inlaws because they will flip out and I find that hilarious....
@angeltennis3 I mean, are you sure that you've never seen a pregnant woman drink in public? Plenty of women don't show until well past the halfway point. OR maybe you just haven't noticed it because you're not a judgey judgerton who would make a note of a stranger's personal choices.
I fully intend to go to my favorite beer snob joint and spend like $20 on a ten-ounce pour on the day I enter my second trimester. I guarantee you that no one there will know I'm pregnant. And if, once my pregnancy is much more obvious, anyone tries to give me the side eye, I'll be delighted to slap the sanctimony right out of them.

Yikes! Making note to not mean bug pregnant women whom I see doing something I find questionable. Lol normally it's pregnant women who smoke that drive me crazy. My sister did it through her first pregnancy and her daughter has had some health issues that are most likely the result. But I'm not a Dr so that's just my opinion. She's currently smoking through her second pregnancy and I give her a hard time everytime I see her in the act... note that's she's my sister though I don't say anything to strangers.

Girl that's a totally different story from having a beer. As far as I'm concerned, smoking during pregnancy is straight-up child abuse.
I know a shit ton of pregnant women that occasionally drank but not that many of them were American. My sisters doctor in Germany said a drink a day was good for her pregnancy
I went into the office on Friday instead of WAH for the first time in about two weeks, and I miss everything! What the heck ladies, now I've got my claws all out and nowhere to put them.

It's still going on in october16... she commented back lol

That's very true - I admittedly had a visual in my head of an obviously pregnant woman sitting at the bar sipping on a beer or glass of wine.
Yeah that other lady is a horrible person. I want to do a love gif party for partyof6... we love gifs, and she deserves it after today... so if you read this partyof6 I love ya
Omg inforgot partyof6 was originally in that bmb. That makes it way worse.
Well, I never got to the point of joining through bmb, I was in Disneyworld week 6/7 and found out the baby had stopped growing not long after. I was in a FB group (I know, stranger danger) that was a spin off from Glow/Nurture.
@PerraSucia, can I applaud you on your comments on her butt waxing post? Because while I have never been involved in Internet drama, I can honestly say I never thought waxing would be part of the conversation I got involved in.
Married - 7/29/06 Ben and Maggie - 4/10/09 Mia - 6/16/11 Surprise! due 2/23/17
What gets me is how odd their board is. They are all still going about the other threads. You know they see what's going on. I figured by now they would be telling us to jog on. No one even interrupted a single time. Can you imagine the people who haven't checked in yet lol.
@Partyof6? Even though you never actually joined the BMB, I'm sorry this adds a level of awkwardness for you. I hope you feel how much love and support we have for you here. I'm not getting involved over there because I can't afford another warning, but please know that I'm behind you as much as everyone else who's spoken up on your behalf.
Oops spoke too soon. They have had it with us now lol
She was nice about it. And didn't defend that jerk. These were two big wins today, though. 1. We've shown our solidarity and fierce protectiveness of our own. 2. We found out that you have some pretty good sized balls @kswiger06
I had to investigate and wow did that get my blood boiling! I'm bigger than partyof6? With one week ahead. Not cool at all. Our bodies are in memory mode from our losses. That chick can fly a kite.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
Fell asleep too early last night. @Partyof6? you're awesome and I hope you know that and aren't letting that comment get you down. The O16 reactions from her were so infuriating, particularly when she blames "preggo brain" on us thinking her comment was rude. That makes me so, so mad.
On the other side... how many boards have a rep 4 months out? But I am sorry their topic was closed, most of the folks there seemed lovely. Also PSA to lurkers who may have followed the exchange: I think most of us have 0 problem with lurkers. Lurk away. But don't lurk, drop in to say something mean to one of our regulars, then write it off as an overreaction on our part without at least offering an apology first. We ARE reactive, but none of us went overboard with that. Shaming another human being for their body is never okay. That said, feel free to lurk, just use best judgement before commenting. Also come say hi once in a while. I can't promise we won't bite but hey, at least you'll get honest opinions here.
So... does this mean "F17 bishes" actually stuck, since now members from 3 boards are in on it? Cause I think we could totally own it if so.
I think any sort of "rep" is totally undeserved. So, so many flame worthy posts around here are greeted with mostly silence or a gentle redirect. One the other day had me biting my tongue so, so hard, but my fake banning really spooked me so I sat on my hands. Any true debates with bite have been in UO or FFFC, where that's a given.
What you will find here is intelligent, kind, funny women with (gasp!) opinions they don't mind sharing. And a lot of support for anyone going through a scare or loss, who has been body shamed or sex shamed, or in my random case banished for no reason.
I won't judge O16 based on that woman. Nobody came to defend her, rightfully, and they asked politely to not be vilified based on her actions. I don't think we have a rep for being horrible, just feisty. Which I think is a good thing. Many people from other boards have defended us, which is cool. We are opinionated and snarky, but as this went to show, we have built an amazing community already.

Agreed. From everything I saw I felt F17's defense was completely justified. I still can't get over her rude comment and her poor justification of it.
I was one of the ones who felt we had too much snark - but I've revised my opinion to what @Gingersnap termed as "feisty". I don't love all of the threads or comments but I don't think anyone would - and I either just avoid a thread or I stop reading. What I do love is that we come together when it matters. I haven't been commenting much, but life is all kinds of crazy right now - but I know that if I have a question or need support y'all will be there and I appreciate the comfort I feel with this knowledge.
---TW BFP and MC mentioned - scroll down past the Lilo and Stitch gif to avoid ---
I love this group and I love how close it is already. I am not in nature a snarky person, but I love it and will encourage it.
I am am a very non confrontational person and wish I felt like I had thug s to add in situations like last night. I am not good with words and definaltely not quick witted enough. But I am normally like "yeah!! That's what I think too" when people post snarky, feisty, or similar stuff.
I am am also really sorry they said anything about an amazing woman and can tell be a wealth of knowledge about raising kids. We love ya partyof6?
That woman is grossly unpleasant and should be ashamed of herself. Her "preggo" brain does not make up for being rude and then defensive and nasty about it instead of accepting her actions and apologizing for them. She still had not apologized to partyof6 she apologized to the October people that we came to our friends defense.
I bought some stretchy shorts because hot and bloated and they got WAY shorter in the dryer. Sorry people at this first birthday I'm about to go to. That's my cellulite.
@kswiger06 I saw that, but I really appreciated how someone suggested that she apologize to @Partyof6?. It is clear to me that her opinion and attitude are not shared by the rest of O16, because no one jumped to her rescue and also because I "know" a few folks over there who are about as far from that kind of attitude and behavior as possible. So I agree with @BumpasaurusRex that we need to just move on. If MrsTrollyTroll appears here again, I vote we all ignore her entirely. She's obviously just looking for attention - why would we oblige her?

I love that @bumpasaurusrex chose the shit-got-real thread to start the Feb17 smackdown. Excellent choice in optics.

Also, that's the oddest case of far-lurking we've had.
But truly, I'm not sure how we've gotten such a bad rap amongst the other boards. We're actually quite nice overall, and we clearly stick together.
I couldn't believe how far she came for no real reason. I can't imagine going that far out, I've lurked J17 and M17 just because they are so close.
Not sure what it's like normally because this is my first bumpie experience but I find it amusing that our bumpees have a reputation out there lol
