@Kaessi- my friend did a $50 gift card for me this year (hosted 1 shower for her) and a gift card plus some chocolate dipped strawberries 2 years ago (hosted 2 showers for her first that year). Given that you have 5 splitting the responsibilities, maybe you could just do the Sherry's Berries (or whatever fruit arrangement place you have) and a heartfelt thank you note. I would have thought that was perfectly sweet and felt appreciated without the gift cards and bet your girls would too.
I'm going to get my aunts potted herbs. I'll kill them if I get them too early, so I'm going to have to put it together during the week before the shower, which is a little nerve-wracking.
I think mine might be a surprise, and I'm really worried about being dressed appropriately, since I'm sure pictures will be taken and I don't want to look frumpy in them for the rest of time. Hoping H would help me out on this somehow.
This is for our first, that our friends are throwing. This was just the proof, so the date was fixed as well as spelling and grammar and wording were fixed after...And then my mom and best friends are throwing us another one in Sept...
Since this is #2 I wasn't actually planning on having one. But as of last week, my girlfriends decided they wanted to throw me a sprinkle (gasp! so taboo, I know). We're just having a brunch to celebrate baby girl. No registry, or expectation (or request) of gifts. Honestly, I'm fine with it I just want someone to feed me all the food!

@RainMira9e I saw something like that on another shower invite and it was awesome! What is great is that you end up getting more than you would of because people start going "omg this is a great deal!" And over spending. On the shower invite I saw it on, I ended up spending about $60 on her and got this tote full of clothes and other items, but if I had to go new, I probably would have spent $20 and bought an outfit or two.
@LauraPCOS I had that put on our invites too! I love shopping used and getting hand me downs, and wanted to let my guests know that it's ok if they do the same.

Here is my invite- the black privacy bars are not attractive but you get the jist Cherry Pie/Picnic theme. There will be no cake at the shower only homemade pies *gasp* Red and white color scheme. I am starting to panic because my pinkblush red/white dress options have not arrived so I will be calling them tomorrow to see whats up.
When was your shower? I honestly wasn't expecting one, because all of my family and DH's family lives far away, plus we moved at the beginning of July (in the military, got transferred from Texas to Washington, DC). None of my old work friends had mentioned it in awhile, but I got surprised by not one, but two showers at my old workplace before I left in June. The first was thrown by the other officers, and the second by my enlisted team members, which really touched my heart (and almost made me cry). How many people attended? About 10 or so at the first, and 8 or so at the second. What did you wear? Frumpy maternity Navy uniform :-) They were both at lunchtime. Was there a theme? Just baby girl theme. Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. I didn't expect anything, so it was a pleasant surprise. They were really simple, just having lunch, cake, chatting, and a few gifts. I don't like a lot of attention, so it was perfect for me. What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part if applicable. The cake was delicious at both! It was nice to have a relaxing lunch with people that I'm really going to miss working with. Also, in the morning of the first one I walked into my office to find it had been "decorated" with a massive amount of balloons and little giraffe table decorations, which we then had a lot of fun relocating to other people's offices to prank them. Any pictures you want to share?
Here's a picture of my office the morning of all the balloons.
Found my shower dress today! Whoop whoop! It was way too expensive but I think I'll be able to easily wear it PP plus I had some stuff to return so not much out of pocket for the dress today
This is the invite to mine. Pretty much my entire family is pitching in...Mom, both Grandma's, 2 Aunts, and my sister-in-law. I think they've even talked my cousin into helping with decorations.
For those who know what their baby is....are you wearing pink or blue? Or are you going with the invitation theme? Or just wearing what you want? I'm in a struggle if I want to wear blue to all of them or just mix it up!

@ibabyloveb87 I'm wearing a cream dress. I thought about painting my toenails a light blue but I decided on hold instead because it's more forgiving of sloppiness haha
I'm leaning towards wearing the gray dress that I wore to the one for DD, but I also have a really cute light blue dress I might wear. We're doing a "gender reveal" but DH and I already know, so it's more just to tell friends and family what we're having. We'll see what fits right lol. We're doing swimming and stuff too, basically just a big co-ed kid-friendly party, so I may just live in my swimsuit that day and to hell with clothes lol.

I'm wearing a white and royal blue dress since I'm having a boy and I loved the dress
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
We're doing a red, white and blue Americana theme - so I'm doing a white and blue dress (haha, same one as you I think @sportiegrl1213 !), with a red chunky necklace and red painted nails. It may be cheesy, but I LOVE themes and I love coordinating with them even more!
LOL yes from Pink Blush @LMNOBaby! We have good taste!

We know, but we're revealing at the shower, so my outfit would give it away. I'd never wear pink, anyway. I considered wearing blue, but I'm currently planning on wearing the green dress I wore to my bridal shower which will match the Yoshi theme anyway (and also be gender neutral).
My mom is doing a blue and white theme, and I saw a dress that was stripped with different shades of blue/green/white that I was looking at since it will kinda match. If I can't find a dress I like (and can afford) I might just wear my navy blue and white stripped nice tank top with shorts.
I have no idea what I'm wearing. Probably black since it's more flattering and I'm going to be whale status. With color accessories.
My MIL had me stop by this afternoon so she could show me some things she picked up for the shower. She went wild at Hobby Lobby and is letting us keep it all for the nursery. I almost cried.
I'm most likely wearing a black and white striped tshirt dress I bought at old navy for $20. It makes me feel pretty and it's easy. Put on a pair of sandals and done. I'm not matching anything!
Not real maternity, but under body type select "bump friendly" like @suzy311 said. I rented one size up for a wedding I have tonight and it fits decently! Better than a lot of the formal dresses I was trying on at Destination Maternity, and cheaper too!
@scostel2 I love that dress! I haven't rented a dress since I was 12w (barely showing) so I was wondering how bump friendly their options would really be, but that style looks great!
@suzy311 Thanks! I've rented two since being pregnant - one early on at like 16 weeks, and one for tonight actually for a wedding - and they've worked for me! The bonus was the one from 16 weeks they delivered wrong so it was a day late, so I got a full credit for it and used it toward a more expensive shower dress. Keeping my fingers crossed it fits a month from now!
How many people attended? I think around 40? All family.
What did you wear? cream lace dress
Was there a theme? Winnie the pooh/sunflowers (had to block out our last name in a couple places)
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. it was perfect! It was so great to see my family and celebrate with them. We had such a wonderful time!
