@RG1 - I was told that at BRU it's not a completion discount but a "cash/credt back" kind of thing. So we get 10% of whatever people spend off of our registry at BRU on a gift card to use at BRU.

This is true, but in the US (at least) there is also a 10% completion coupon that you will receive. Both are listed on the Babies R Us site when you click on all the benefits of doing a registry...
I forgot that we have to wait until we get a completion coupon...I'm registered at BRU, Target and Buy Buy Baby. We are getting mostly gift cards from our baby showers which means it would be in our best interest to wait until the coupon, but don't those come like 2 weeks before due date?
@Sbrown721 - I seem to remember mine coming about a month or so before? but it's hard to say. I think as soon as my shower went by (so I figured not many other people would be looking at my registry) I bumped my due date way up to try to trigger the coupon to come.
@Sbrown721 - I'm really not sure because I don't know when I would have gotten the coupon otherwise, it just showed up in the mail... but it was plenty of time before my actual due date, so I'll probably do the same again. Actually, I could just change mine now since we aren't really using it. I think you need to have the items on the registry BEFORE the due date passes though, so don't change your due date to today and add stuff you want to use it on tomorrow... I think.
On my Amazon registry it says I'm eligible for my completion discount July 26 I think it said. So not long now! My shower is August 6 so I will wait until after then, but I figure they should all be coming up soon?
We have family pics tomorrow and I plan on wearing sandals. The idea of awkwardly removing the chipped nail polish from my toes and applying new around this giant belly does not sound enjoyable, haha! So I'm thinking of going for a pedicure...
I've never had one before - I can go in without removing my old polish first, right? What about clipping toenails? The idea of someone else doing it for me feels weird...but I'm not going to lie, it would be nice! (Again, avoiding having to work around my hugeness, haha!)
I think Amazon lets you use the completion coupon something like 14 days after opening the registry (I opened one yesterday since they have a couple products I was about to order for baby.. might as well wait and get 15% off or whatever it is as a Prime member).
Yesterday he says "ok.. so I bought something" Now mind you, we have both agreed to limit spending since we have the huge unknown ahead of us of me without a few weeks pay, possibly him without a week or two of pay if he takes some FMLA, and hospital bills... then soon after 2 kids in daycare (HELP!). He shows me that he bought a backpacking 2 person tent.. it's around $200 but he got it at work for $30. Great deal, but why?! What is he going to do with that? I say "we already have an 8 person tent and a 4 person tent that we hardly use" He says "yeah, so this is perfect, now we have all the tents we need" WTF?!?!
I rolled my eyes and told him that it was indeed a good deal but we really just have no use for that, we don't hike overnights and need to tent on a mountain and he tells me "This will be perfect, I have a dream of hiking with and tenting overnight with each of my sons. And now I can" And all of a sudden my heart melts! Guys.. this will likely never happen.. but Emmett thought the little tent was SO cool in the backyard yesterday, so whatever. He's using my boys against me already!!!

@JennM205 Girl! Go get your pedicure on! Just remember to wear open toed sandals. That's all you need to do they do the rest: remove existing toenail polish, clip your toenails, buff them, cut cuticles, clean up your calluses and depending on what pedicure you go for give you a really nice foot/calf massage. It's definitely something I recommend.
@JennM205 Yes! Get the pedicure! They'll do it all for you. I sometimes have to ask them to cut the nails down a bit rather than just filing them. I love my pedicures. I think you deserve one after your L&D trip and your daughter's HFM.

You can access your completion discount from Target at nearly anytime online - just login to your registry and there's a big button that says "get completion discount." You'll just need to print it off or use the online code. It's still only a one time thing, though, so if you use it early you still won't get a second one in the mail.
@JennM205 ditto! You don't need to do a thing except pick out a pretty polish color when you get there! Enjoy it!! Hopefully you have a huge comfy massage chair to sit in too...those things are heaven.
So I had a dream that I was in hypnobirthing class and adamant about a med-free birth and "not putting poison in my body" (this is not how I feel though). Then I was 37 weeks and walking, eating spicy foods, jumping up and down and doing everything I could to naturally induce because "I didn't want a huge baby because of my GD". Nothing happened and when I finally went into labor, I was just frantically screaming at the top of my lungs: "get me the juice!!!" "Inject everything you have into me!!!" Like a mad person. So random. I woke up before seeing the baby though, so no idea if she was huge or not.
@diagonalley that's awesome. My birthday is coming up and my husband asked me what I wanted and I said "maybe Hamilton tickets for 2017?" And he came back and said "Are you sure, I looked and they cost $300 each"
NO THANK YOU! People pay less per hour for high class prostitutes, for crying out loud. That's half way to a new MacBook.
I love the idea of a pedicure right now. Really, any kind of pampering sounds so good. I'm waaay too ticklish for pedis but it just sounds amazing. I'm looking to get a prenatal massage later on, probably after 35 weeks when I'm huge and feeling like everything hurts.

LMAO of all the things you could've chosen that cost less than $300
@JennM205 I don't ever let them trim my nails, the last few times I did they cut them SO short they hurt. I clip them before and then just let them shape them with the file.
The thought of anyone clipping my toenails is making my lunch try to jump back out of my throat. I am so far from a foot person. I got my first (and only) pedicure last October as a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding and had no choice. I've never been so tense in my life. I smiled to the bride then bent down to the pedicurist and asked her to make it as quick and painless as possible. She was super sweet, but never again.
@diagonalley I can't believe you got to see Hamilton AND talk to the cast!! No one can get tickets for that show- I'm thinking I'll finally get to see it like years from now. So awesome!!
@JennM205 girl, go get a pedi!! I can't believe you've never had one-- they are amazing. They'll do everything for you, no need to feel weird about it. And if you go to a good place, you'll get a heavenly calf massage too! Just make sure wherever you go they use new tools for each customer, or that they at least come out of an industrial sanitizer, and that they clean the footbath between customers.
I failed my 1 hour glucose test I'll do the 3 hour next week! I was at 137, she said they like it below 130. Is that high? I don't know what those numbers mean.
@MrsVoorhees you were like right on the edge. The common cut off is 140, but some doctors do 130. Bummer!! There is still a Very good chance you'll pass the longer one with such a borderline #!
@Megan324 oh just another random with a long post about the world ending around her and I just can't seem to make myself feel sympathy right now. Maybe it's because I'm a cranky pregnant lady, maybe it's because I feel like if you have all that going on, you should try to get professional help, not post to a bunch of Internet strangers who you've never spoken to/posted with once. I'm a grump!
@MrsVoorhees - that's not very high. First pregnancy I failed with I think a 138, this pregnancy with a 158. Both times I passed the 3 hour.. but you just never know. Bummer on the 3 hour, find a good show to stream/book to read!
I seriously could have kissed my oral surgeon yesterday! The dentist I saw last week said I needed to have this tooth pulled and was treating it as an emergency, blah blah blah. When I went in to have it pulled by the oral surgeon yesterday, he did a quick consult and was really confused about why I was having it pulled. I told him what the dentist had said and he asked if I was in pain, which I'm not. Basically he was more concerned about stressing the babies and I out, especially since I could only get a local, than he was about the tooth. So I'll go back after they're born. YaY!!
I saw my OB today and got a shock. I only have one more appointment with him before my c-section. OMG. One month from tomorrow ladies. Yikes!
I can never keep up with this thread but I just had to say that after yesterday's UO thread, I'm on my way to the store for ingredients to make Nutella brownies. Yum.
@MrsVoorhees Not that high, really! The cutoff is 130 so you're off by a few points only, considering I got 180s (and was diagnosed right away, bypassing the three hour). You can totally pass the three hour or you might not, but you will be fine either way. My BFF was only slightly high and she failed her 3 hr. People with way higher numbers have passed it! Good luck and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you to pass!
I've been watching for the police log to come out all day, and this is all I get... 12:05 p.m., Kerrie (_______), of Augusta was arrested on a warrant
after an attempt to locate was performed on Old Winthrop Road.
@MrsVoorhees that was my same number after my one hour, and I was really pissed that I had to do the three hour, since a lot of doc's offices cut off at 140. The three hour test, IMO, was a big waste of time and made me feel like shit for a whole day (and pass out in line for french fries afterward... so cool). Sorry you have to do it!
@lovelylauren86 one of my good friends with a 2 year old and an infant just got HFM from them, she got the blisters all over her hands, which sucked but the mouth is probably worse. Feel better soon!
@UnwritteN12 or anyone else re: the TDAP... did you have your spouses get shots at your OB office? I don't usually have mine go with me unless there's an ultrasound going on, but I have no problem sending him to the OB. I don't think he has any plans to see any other doctors in the immediate future.
@jas1982 DH and I went to our GP's office where you can walk in and just have it done without an appointment. For some reason, my OB's office doesn't do it, they basically just tell you to go get it.
@jas1982 - last pregnancy my husband got his from his primary care provider during a physical. Can't remember where you're located, but a lot of states allow pharmacists to give the shot as well, some require a prescription others do not and he could just walk into a pharmacy and ask for it

I failed my 1 hr with a 208 LOL so you're so low you might be totally in the clear
ETA: but even if you do fail the 3hr it will be okay
