  • @ibabyloveb87 Good on you for continuing your workout routine! It's always better to slow down than to stop. I waddle everywhere, so I'd hate to see how I'd look on a treadmill. Lmao

First day back in a while actually! I was doing SO well the beginning of the pregnancy. But I had twisted my knee so extra walking wasn't a good idea for a couple of weeks. It seems better now. All these loose joints and ligaments!

  • I try to separate myself from the person I see in the mirror, it may sound weird but I will feel ok about myself (said before- borderline plus size) but then I look in the mirror and am like wow is that really me? Especially pregnant. I do plan on going on a diet program (maybe WW) after the baby is born.

I dont int have a problem with sweets since I've never had a sweet tooth but I can devour a bag of chips like there isn't a tomorrow. My other problem is that I love love love salads but why oh why don't the taste the same when I make them at home!!  :/ I always think they'll be really good but then they just are never the same so I tend to not eat them as much, but get them every time I go out to eat.
  • I'm in the sweet tooth boat with you guys, but I've always been a sweets eater (and a junk food one hence me being plus size).  It's funny I always feel skinny, but then I see my reflection and get my rude reminder.  I don't care though, I have 3 months to go, so far I'm still in a healthy weight gain for being plus size, I just hope I don't gain more than 10lbs over the next 3 months.

  • You guys I just spent over 60 minutes researching all the different kinds of keepsake books for baby's 1st (to up to 5 if you want!) year of life.  Ranging from $10 - $120.  All saved on my pinterest board now.

Also, I didn't know baby could get an official "welcome to the world greeting" from the White House.  Totes doing that.

Now I don't know which baby book to get!  I love paper, I love stationery, I love printed goods.  This is hard!
  • @annabenanna We sent a wedding invitation to the White House and got a "Congratulations" greeting in return.  Pretty fun!
See I didn't know you coudl do that!  so awesome!
  • Maybe this should be a FFFC but I don't think I want to do one of those keepsake books. I feel like I'll just be overwhelmed and won't keep up with it and even if I do, It'll just take up space somewhere and end up in a box. Maybe I'll change my mind, who knows. Someone got me a pregnancy journal and I haven't cracked it.

Neither am I @MRSCORKER... So don't feel bad. You're not alone.

love the White House thing! I told DH that and he said, "can we wait and see if Trump gets voted in? I want his signature." Then proceeded to roll his eyes and hysterically laugh at his own joke. Love him lol

I tried to do one with my daughter, but all I really ended up doing was getting a keepsake box and putting her hospital stuff and stuff from my pregnancy in there.

  • DH and I went to 7-Eleven for our free slurpee at 8:30pm. They stopped being free at 7pm even though it didn't say that anywhere! We decided to get them anyway, but 3 out of 4 of the flavors didn't work! So I left without one, I'm so mad :(

  • I saw someone post on FB that the 7-11 here had to stop the promotion because they ran out of cups. Ha!
  • I went to get mine and all flavors on the machine had stopped working and there wasn't a cup to be found! Not to mention I almost lost a sandal because of how sticky the floor was... so, Slurpee Fail for me. :( Of course, now that I had it on the brain I want one more than anything!! May have to just stop this week and get one...fingers crossed they get it up and running again!

Yeah, I see that happening for me. I could never keep up with stuff like that. Journals, diaries... Just not my thing. I like the idea of a keepsake box that a PP mentioned. First lost tooth, first lock of hair, that sort of thing.

Oh no! :( hope you get one soon for your troubles!
  • I'm on board with the pregnancy body dysmorphia  :/

I got really big really quick this time (partially because I'm a STM and partially because I'm gaining weight so fast). I'm honestly ashamed to admit how much weight I've gained. I keep trying to remind myself that the body gains what it needs during pregnancy but I feel like my body is trying to prepare for end times. Based on my experience with DS, I know I can lose the weight afterwards but I feel yucky in the meantime. If I can at least stay active throughout the rest of the pregnancy I'll be happier.

  • The weight gain is so hard to mentally deal with. I was overweight to start, and as the pounds keep packing on, it is rough to see the number on the scale. I try not to focus on it, and I know gaining weight in pregnancy is normal, but ugh.

What makes it worse is my husband recently went on a huge workout binge because he wants to keep up chasing his son around. He is losing weight, and I am gaining it, and now I am 10 pounds lighter than him and catching up fast. I'm guessing I'll be heavier than him at some point in this pregnancy. I just really hope to be focused on a workout routine after LO is born. Right now I am sporadic with working out, and just walking up stairs leaves me panting.

  • @Pupatella ... Yes to all of this. Watching your H lose weight makes it that much tougher. Mine is down 25lbs since my BFP bc he decided to diet soon after and has stuck with it.... Which is great, but I'm considered obese by BMI and would always love to be thinner and have my partner in crime to diet with me. So to have him doing it without me and seeing the scale go in opposite directions for us is tough.
  • Okay, super late back to the party, but sorry for freaking you guys out about my water HEATER breaking! For the record, we have a new one now, showers are once again possible, and the dry-the-carpet movement is in full force.
I would like to state that I am extremely grateful for this baby, but I think it's pretty normal to have a few body image worries. I am but one wee pound away from gaining 30 pounds so far, that's a pretty big number to tie onto a 2 pound baby in my belly... drinking more water would help, cutting back the sweets would help, I just have to DO IT!
@ibabyloveb87 They were supposed to call me back with my GT results and schedule my next appointment but I never heard back. Last night I realized I don't think the office has my new phone number, so I'll be calling them back today!
  • @bnsmith85 I feel you! Luckily for me, hubby is the one with the sweet tooth and he claims is due to pregnancy... But I hate him, because 2 years ago he lost like 30 pounds in two months... he was pretty focused on his diet and I know that as soon as he really set a loosing weight goal he will do it again....

So, that's why I told him to wait until pregnancy is over... meanwhile I buy him ice cream, cookies and stuff like that hahaha

  • I've still been feeling pretty good about the weight gain- my beefs have been the stretch marks on my boobs and the ugly veins. Noooo! I had a couple stretch marks on my hips with DD1 right at the end. And the veins really freaked me out at first lol.

I also had an older male coworker tell me that my waddle is starting to get more pronounced. Dafuq? Why would you tell me that?

  • @Pupatella @bnsmith85 My H just joined a gym. And I feel really bad, but I'm kind of glad he hasn't had a chance to really start going yet. I'm already 10 pounds  heavier than him.

It doesn't help that my FB memory from 4 or 5 years ago yesterday was when I received my NutriBear celebrating 80 pounds of weight loss. I've put 70 of those pounds back on. :|

  • @SuperNerd42... whaaat?! Did you slap him? I'll go ahead and speak for the group when I say, we would all support it :) whata jerk

@krzyriver... I know that has to be tough to see. I'm sorry :( You'll get back there PP.... I have faith in you! Plus, I'm sure once we're all feeling like humans again (PP) there will be some sort of weight loss support group-like stuff going on. I'm sure I'll be on WW, so we'll kick the extra lbs together :)
  • Just FYI ladies, babies R is having some great promotions right now! Today only is 15% off any item online. And they are giving a $15 gift card for $50 spent on huggies and that promotion will switch to pampers this weekend.
  • @supernerd42 I was just telling that to my hubby, that I felt like I was beginning to walk like a penguin, and he was laughing about it...

Anyways.... a coworker should not be telling you that.... as @bnsmith85 said, you may now slap him....

  • Ya my issue with weight is that even though I haven't gained a super amount this pregnancy, because I was plus size before my BFP, I keep seeing the scale number creep closer and closer to 300lbs and that's what freaks me out.  I keep saying I'm going to start walking or swimming, but moving makes me winded and my lower back ache (which should be all the more reason, but it's my whiney excuse).  Though I am eager to get to use my maternity swimsuit I bought, just haven't done it yet.

  • Every once in awhile I have a small freak out about my weight, but then I think meh, I'll deal with it after. Maybe because I've been through all this before? I don't know.

  • I wouldn't keep up with a journal, but I'm going to get one of those calendars with the stickers. You just have to put a sticker on for baby's first smile, etc.

  • that's a good idea @RainMira9e
  • Dohm sound machines are 30% off for Prime day today. FYI only.

We love ours and Ella will have one in her room so I figured today was a good day to put in the order.

This is my second, but I'm freaking out more this time than the first time.  It was much easier to keep the weight gain down with my first.  This time, the weight is creeping up and I don't feel like I'm doing anything differently than the first time.  If anything, I'm being more careful about what I eat.  But I've always had body image issues, so my freak outs are probably not typical.

I hurt my knee a few weeks ago.  It's just runner's knee and it'll probably heal on its own if I just stay off of it for a week or two, but I have this fear that if I stop running, I'll immediately gain 20 pounds, so I've just been running for shorter periods and rowing for the rest of my cardio time.  That's how irrational I am.  (Knowing it's not rational does not stop me.)
