@sjo_thetwins Good luck!! Here's to a long cervix! (Weirdest sentence ever?)
@bnsmith85 I learned at birth class last night that all our doctors delay cord clamping and do immediate skin to skin, barring any emergency situations of course. If those things are important to you, I would ask about them. Just one of many possible questions I am sure, but it's fresh in my mind at the moment!

@bnsmith85 - Well, seeing as how my prescription expired in February and I have to have an exam before I can even order them, probably a little while. I stopped on the way into work and got some super glue, so they're back together... for now.
YES! Shortly after it happened, I said "what am I going to do?!" DH looked at me with all seriousness, waved an imaginary wand, and said "oculus reparo!"

Real question: How often are you all eating? Baby must be having a growth spurt because I feel the need to eat every hour. Sadly, I don't have enough food at the office to accomplish this, which is making concentrating on work very difficult.
@F47 ... I was just thinking the same this morning. I'm hungry pretty frequently now (about every 2 hrs or less depending on what I eat... longer for full meals).
True life, I eat whenever I'm hungry. Any time I get a craving, or want food, or get hungry, I eat. In my head, I'm just fattening these little babies up and that's super important to me.
I just ate a granola bar...and was rummaging around my desk for something else!! The last few days I'm just constantly hungry! Ate dinner last night - then had a bowl of cereal an hour later. My tummy was literally growling. Trying to keep the snacking between meals to fruit and pretzels, not awful things...but it just sort of curbs the hunger for a little while. I keep looking at the clock to see how far away lunch is!
Possible TMI, but I was in L&D yesterday because I had a kind of gush of fluid come out. They had to check everything over to make sure it wasn't preterm labor. And after 6 hours, they come tell me I have a bacterial infection. Wtf? Lol. They said my discharge was watery because of the infection and that probably cause the gush. Ugh. All that stress over a bacterial infection.
@F47 I'm hungery every 2 hours, on the dot. I try to eat small meals every 2 hours with lots of protein and fruits/veggies. I do great all day and then I get home and end up making crap for dinner. But yes, lately it feels like I can't eat or sleep enough.

@MRSCORKER I'm either hungry every 2 hours.... or I'm stuffed over nothing and can't eat the rest of the day. It's so weird. But I hear you on feeling like you can never sleep enough!

I'm sleeping ok-ish through the night. I get up to pee 3-4 times but I'm not staying awake or taking long to fall asleep when I first go to bed. The problem is, I need to go to bed earlier and sleep later. I can't really sleep later because I have to work and because the sun comes up so early I wake up anyway. The earlier bed time I could manage if I could just get my shit together and go to bed.

@KarenBM13 I'm doing ok so far, but with my last pregnancy, I got really distracted and uninvested at work. I was in full on baby mode - and nothing else really mattered. It didn't help that I knew I'd be taking an 11 week break from the office...
CopperBoom86 as a fellow glasses wearer - this is my nightmare! Hope you get an appointment for new specs soon!
Seconding the lack of motivation at work. I've got a bit more than 10 more weeks to go, and it's not going to be easy. I've really been busting my butt up until now and was so worried about not being "that pregnant lady" that shuts off, but my colleagues have been being shitty about my pregnancy and leave anyway, so now I'm no longer interested in going above and beyond when they're going to have that perception of me anyway.
My days are so split, some days I'm a bottomless pit and other days I feel like a stuffed pig all day. I'm traveling right now and it's been option 2- I barely feel hungry and its bumming me out- usually I love trying new things at restaurants.
The trip has been a success though- we bought us a house! Also got a referral to a new OB at a gorgeous new hospital and birthing center (score). Moving across state lines while pregnant is totally for the birds though. At this point I just want to be here.
@F47 I feel like it came on all the sudden. I went from completely career focused to completely distracted. I just want to stare at baby clothes on the internet and leave as early as possible. Haha.
@scostel2 Sorry your coworkers are being awful! My office refuses to acknowledge that I am pregnant (i.e. we have not discussed leave, my schedule when I come back, what to do about clients, AT. ALL.)
@CopperBoom86 Gorilla Glue! It dries in MINUTES, that is my MUST HAVE. My frames are similar to yours, especially the thicker bridge, and mine are snapped down the middle. They glued right up! There is no possible way I could afford a new pair in near future so I am SO happy I found that glue.
@CopperBoom86, I hate that! I wear contacts during the day, and at night I wear glasses. I can feel your pain!
@F47, I was just discussing this with my doctor yday...but the opposite of it. I feel like I've been eating less because I feel so full all the time. If I eat a normal sized meal, I end up throwing it up because I feel like it's got nowhere to go!
@KarenBM13, I do find myself being VERRRRRRY distracted---but last week I was assigned a new project that I'm really into and am finding myself now being scared of going on ML and then feeling irrelevant to the company. I also have a guy friend who said "my co-worker is pregnant and damn she's forgetting everything! it's making my life miserable." So every time I get distracted, I remember what my friend says and try to not be that pregnant co-worker. lol.

So yesterday I had my check-up with the doc, and she gave me homework from now on till the day I deliver. She made me download a baby kick counter app (like she literally stood there and asked me to pull up the app store and chose it for me). She said I have to count 10 kicks in 2 hours and log it.
She said:
"what we are looking for is a pattern here.... if you see that the baby takes about 1:30 to kick to 10, then you know that's probably his normal pattern... or maybe it's less time like 45 minutes...but all normal babies move 10 times in 2 hours."
Then she scared me:
"if he doesn't get to 10 kicks in 2 hours, don't even call me, go to the hospital"
"if he kicks 10 times over 45 minutes one day, then 10 times over 60 minutes the next, then 10 times over 90 minutes the ff day.... call me. It's something we ought to discuss".
"this is how we save babies, this is how we save them from a sudden placenta failure or their cord being wrapped around their neck, and I need you to do this every night, count his kicks. Eat something, then count his kicks. By kicks I mean movements: rolls, punches, jabs, all those count.... hiccups don't count"
I left petrified! Now I'm so paranoid!
DH and I counted kicks yday, and he got to 10 in 29 minutes. But what about tonight? or tomorrow night? Can't believe I have to do this for 12 weeks! I'll be an anxious mess!
@annabenanna I'm already anxious about it too, espcially because I have an anterior placenta so does the 10 in 2 hours still apply to me? I feel like there are probably times he's moving when I don't feel it because he's behind the placenta and it's more subtle than usual. Today is a sleepy day, I haven't felt him as much but yesterday I could see my stomach moving he was kicking so hard. I agree, it's anxiety inducing and I'm going to ask my doc about it because I'm not sure I notice a patter to his movement yet.

@SpaceBurger, KICKME is the name of the app...with two little pink feet as the logo.
@AllyTheKid, I knowwwwww. The thing is, this doc of mine is older and she's not an overly cautious doctor. She's pretty realistic. Like when I had my bout of food poisoning, she was pretty chill about it all. She's chill about me keeping the same workout routine (abs? if you can do it, sure do it, planks and burpees are okay, just don't do anything on your back). She's chill about sushi, chill about deli meat, chill about soft cheese, travel, etc etc etc.
@AllyTheKid - The super glue is working well for now. As for replacing them, thank God for Warby Parker. Super cute, quality frames WITH lenses for only $95.
@annabenanna wow that is intense! My dr hasn't mentioned anything about kick counting, she just asked if he's been moving a lot. @SpaceBurger Ovia has a kick counter.
@annabenanna Just reading that makes me anxious. I wasn't good at doing kick counts the last time, but it always felt like she was moving a ton anyway. This time I'd like to pay more attention to doing them.

@MRSCORKER, we can be anxious together! Waaah. But seriously, there are days when he's quiet. Then there are days when I feel like he's punching/kicking his way out. I think there will be quiet days and really "loud" days... I hope this doesn't drive us crazy. I'm trying to be level headed about it all.
@CopperBoom86 Warby Parker is awesome! I always wished I needed glasses. DH used to wear them before he got lasik and we went to their store in NYC. It was pretty cool!
