I found a used momaroo on our local classifieds for $75. I couldn't say no. There so expensive new. I sold ours after we had our two girls cause they both hated it, and since we were moving i didn't want to pack it with us. So I've been contemplating if I should buy it or not.

@Schell2013 - if your other two didn't like them, I personally wouldn't buy it. But, every baby is different, so who knows. If you decide to buy it, I'd start off by offering $50 for it. If you do, you can probably get the price down some so that if this LO ends up not liking it, you can sell it for the same price you paid more easily and then there's no harm and no money lost on giving it a shot.
@schell2013 I'm doing the same thing with the mamaroo. It seems like babies either love them or hate them but I don't want to take the chance in buying one new. I've found a couplengood deals on offer up and I think I'm going to go that route.
Our nursery is getting there.. SO is painting the ceiling today, installing a new fan, and cleaning out the rest of the clutter. We have a little corner desk going in there for our laptops/ printer, etc coming this week and then we will be focusing on getting the crib, dresser, glider set up........ yay for progress!
Finished re-doing this "desk" to be our changing table station! Painted, antiqued a bit and changed hardware...Did white to match the gray paint and white trim, which hubs did a couple months ago as a surprise while I was away. Now, just need to rip that awful carpeting out (new carpet estimates, here I come!) and put the crib together (which is currently in a box in the hallway....)
@LMNOBaby... have fun with those carpeting quotes lol. We just dropped, what felt like, a small fortune getting ours re-done. I recommend trying to find someone local (vs a big box store like Home Depot). We saved around $1500 that way and got better carpet/pad.
Also, great job on the refinish! I've never refinished furniture before but I've always wanted to find a good piece to try it out on!
@lmnobaby are you going to sit at the desk to change the baby? I've seen the chest-of-drawers to changing table, but not the desk thing. I actually like the desk idea - when the kid gets older, they can have an actual desk. I haven't done ANYTHING for our baby room yet - but my worry about finding a changing table was getting a dresser tall enough that it's waist height when standing, because my husband and I are tall and both have back problems, so having to bend over stuff made for short people sucks.
@RainMira9e - I hadn't thought about sitting, but pretty nice idea! Actually, it's tall enough to use standing up, and I was going to put either the diaper pail in the middle opening, or a couple of stackable baskets/crates to hold extra clothes/diapers/burp cloths etc....
We are still need to do our decals (safari animals), curtains and some things I have on my registry...like a mattress lol, but so far I'm loving this for my little guy! Plus our room is tiny!!
@laurapcos What is that color??? I lurves it. We're planning on doing a similar green around the bottom half and a sky blue around the top half (if we ever get around to doing anything...)
Here is a snapshot of the room so far. We have painted the walls, trim, new curtains/ rod.. Now SO is going to repaint the ceiling and install the fan...then we will be onto furniture I am loving seeing all of our pictures and progress!
We got the walls painted - it's way more coral in person than orange like in the picture. Bad lighting I suppose? I want to get an ottoman for the rocker and we are hanging a TV above the little teal entertainment center. We lucked out with a massive room that can double as sweet sleepy nursery and play room.
This is where we are at so far! I ordered a name.sign for above the crib and an end table for next to the recliner. Still.lots to do, but it's coming together. Oh and these are the frames I bought for the room. Adding pops of coral.
@sjo_thetwins LOVE! The color combo is amazing. Loving the prints and the light fixture...even just the size and the shape of the room. Something they can totally grow with. I kind of want to move in myself. Nice work!!
Thank you so much @ibabyloveb87@bnsmith85@LMNOBaby!! We had plans for that room to be a den/game room/etc before we found out that it was twins... Then there was no thought, they can share it while they are kids, too!
I guess you you put yourself into the universe for things to happen by doing certain things. For instance, we bought a huge 4 bedroom 3 bathroom two story house, thinking we would have extra space and a room for a potential kid, and then we got knocked up with two! Lol
I haven't gotten very far, and I'm starting to feel the time crunch. Getting my DH to discuss important things like foam versus coil mattresses is almost impossible.
This is in our room rather than the nursery, but it's where he will be spending his first couple of months. No bedding yet but it's on my registry. I'm debating about the bumpers that go around the edge....I am not putting bumpers on my crib but I'm afraid the sides could scratch him?! Ideas...thoughts? He shouldn't be rolling yet while he's in the bassinet.
@ibabyloveb87 I wouldn't worry about bumpers unless you find that the scratching is an issue... Which I wouldn't think it would be because he won't be able to roll whole in there
@jeng100 I ordered it from FabricAndFox on Etsy. She is making my changing pad cover too. She does great work and works quickly, plus she's very friendly. You shpuld take a look at her shop and let her know saw the blanket she made for me
We are stuck in a teeny rent house while we build so I will just have to make a design board and start sewing things for the room and keep them packed away until we move which probably won't be until November I'm wanting to keep it kind of natural this time. White walls, wood floors, natural wood Crib from ikea with maybe some Mustard colors and navy thrown in. Just for funzies since I don't have anything to post a picture of here is my youngest little guy's room before we moved.
@gatorMom2014 We got the paint at Home Depot, it's called Anonymous by Behr. We went with their Marquee flat matte because the woman said you could scrub it so I figured with a kid that would be a good option.
Re: Setting up nursery?

Has anyone made a cute little project for there bubba ?I just couldn't help myself i had to make it personal
Also, great job on the refinish! I've never refinished furniture before but I've always wanted to find a good piece to try it out on!

I looked at the bassinet skirt again and it comes with the bumpers regardless. They might be pretty for newborn photos at least!
