We have lucked out with emmett being an easy teether. He's also had all of his teeth other than 2 year molars for months now (he's almost 18 months). This next child will cut 1 a week every other week for his entire life... just a prediction.
Is mckenna getting her canines? Those probably bothered e more than molars
It is SO easy!!! It has a pretzel buttery crust, a layer or cream cheese and Cool Whip, followed by a third lawyer of strawberries. It handles both my salty and sweet craving.
@AnnaS930 Yeah, canines. The top two have broken through, and I'm really hoping the bottom two come in any day now. All teething has messed with her sleep, but the molars were the worst. If these are bothering her more than that, no wonder we had a night like the last.
I haven't tried teething tablets yet because teething only seems to bother her at night, but I'm thinking it might be worth a shot.
Currently waiting for my sitter to get here this morning so I can go to the doctor and check on baby girl (we finally named her Ava)
i've been having some serious cramps and I've noticed movement that isn't normal from the usual kicking and moving around. It literally feels like baby is having a seizure or something it there. Although I've read this can be normal I have some other symptoms that I just couldn't wait until Monday (my scheduled glucose test) to check on her. I'm thinking everything is fine but I'm hoping my midwife orders an ultrasound to check on her. Fingers crossed!
@seitzy3- Thinking of you and baby Ava! I do get some wild movements that feel like baby is shuddering more than kicking/rolling and I had them last time as well.. so you're not alone in that. But good for you to seek out an appointment if you have any question. Keep us updated
@camichael84- have you tried any baby orajel? It probably doesn't work, but we used it any time that a tooth was just starting to poke through - seemed like the canines were so sharp that just the tip poked through, but it still hurt him for a little while as the broader part of the tooth emerged. Either way, we would do a bedtime routine of a dose of ibuprofen and orajel on his gums and he tended to do pretty well, but would let out quite a few whimpers throughout the night as those came in
@seitzy3 love the name Ava! Glad you're listening to your instinct and going to the doctor. I would rather go a million times and it be nothing than to not go when I should have. Keeps us updated, hoping everything is fine with sweet girl!
@seitzy3 Hope everything goes ok. Ava is a beautiful name.
So I worked from home yesterday and after getting into work today I realized I forgot my laptop. I live 30m away and part of the trip is hov (only in one dirction, not the one I take going to work) during rush hour and the other part has tolls so going back to get it is not possible and then just not preferable. I've been waiting for an hour for my boss to get here and have time to have our meeting now, then work from home again. Ugh, I blame it on waiting for H to call that distracted me.
@AnnaS930 We've only given her Tylenol or Ibuprofen. My first BMB freaked me out over the Benzocaine in orajel (although you probably know more about it than I do, so now I'm second guessing that choice).
She slept better last night... woke up at 5:40 and I brought her in to bed with me until she was up at 8:30. I'm still considering getting teething tablets or orajel for tonight. I honestly never thought of it before because she's always herself when she's awake. The sleeping is her tell tale sign that she's teething. (According to my dad, I was the same way. Haha.)
I bought two pairs of shorts from Motherhood Maternity a couple days ago, same style and size, just different colors. Put on the second pair today, and apparently they are cut an inch smaller in the leg than the pair I had on yesterday! They still fit, but not as nicely as the others. I've already thrown out the tags and washed them, so I doubt an exchange is possible.
My random today - we're going camping this weekend. I'm already exhausted just thinking about it. Hoping the great outdoors will keep crazy pants Reese busy.
@camichael84- We actually use the "baby orajels naturals" which has ingredients more similar to teething tablets and does not have benzocaine.. which is why I say it probably doesn't work. At the age our kiddos are at now, I probably wouldn't be as concerned with the benzocaine of the real stuff anyways.
@seitzy3 Hope all is well with your baby girl - keep us posted!!
@camichael84 I swear, Hylands Teething Tablets helped DD so much when she was teething. I was skeptical of them at first - not understanding what the ingredients could really do to help - but it really seemed they did. At the very least, it can't hurt to give them a try!
My son is also getting his canines. We've had moments of fussiness and he has spiked a fever a few times, but he is handling it like a champ. I think the molars were harder for him. I just want the 2nd set of molars to come quickly so we don't have to worry about teething for a while.
Teething ladies - recommending an amber necklace. It's totally crunchy and there's absolutely no medical evidence that it works but I swear it helped Reese. If you have a local natural type children's store, you can find it there. If not, I can direct you to a website.

Tip: Make sure when you're looking for one, that there's a knot between each bead, it keeps the beads from all coming off if the necklace breaks.
Along with kicks, in the past week I have been able to feel baby actually moving across my belly. So surreal! Anyone else feeling this? Not sure what part of the body I'm feeling, but it's so fun!
@seitzy3 Hope everything is well with you and Ava (love the name choice)!
@PSUBecky23 Can you recommend a good website to order an amber necklace from. DD is all done teething but I want to get one for this baby. I wanted to get one for DD originally but couldn't figure out where to order from, we don't seem to have any stores around here that sell them
Go with unpolished and a lighter color. I still put Reese's on her occasionally when she's being a testy three year old. Balances her out, or something.
@Sbrown721 I'm feeling it, too. I could feel my first shifting around from place to place, but not the sliding of limbs I'm feeling with this one. It's so cool. Movement has been by far the biggest difference in my pregnancies, and has given me the idea that this baby girl will have a totally different personality than her sister.
@Sbrown721- oh yes. There are kicks but he also just loves to do crocodile rolls in there (at least that's what it feels like it's doing) and tons of movements up by my ribs.. interested to see if the OB has a guess what position he's in at this point.
@camichael84 - we also used Highland's teething tablets a few times when E was younger. Not sure if they helped or not, but did not hurt. I'm very much of the mindset that I like to be doing SOMETHING, whether it works or not. It's like the 5 s's of soothing a baby from Happiest Baby.. it didn't work every single time, but it was a good stepwise approach so I didn't feel helpless.
Yesterday, I was chilling on the couch with the TV remote across my belly and all the sudden in started bouncing around like crazy! It was the first time I've actually seen my belly move from the baby, and so cool to see how strong baby is getting. I guess baby was too fond of the Parenthood reruns I was watching
@Sbrown721 Yup! Starting feeling new movements a couple days ago. Rolling or movement across the stomach no longer just pokes at various parts inside. I've also felt more movement above my belly button where before it was all below or felt like it was always directed at my bladder and cervix.
Definitely not baby related and 100% random but question for you Canadians....
Why do your supreme court justices dress like Santa?! Is Santa your secret ruler or something?! Do you get two or Christmases/holidays per year?! Is that why are you are all so damn nice all the time?!?! because you get extra holidays?! Seriously considering relocating to Canada after this discovery (that and amazing healthcare and maternity benefits).
For the record, I wish our boring, stern, constantly looking mad and constipated US Justices dressed like Santa
The March 2017 board is open (no posts on it yet)... our babies will be 6 months old when those babies are born. Holy smokes!
I cannot believe how fast it is going this time. Everyone told me the second goes faster, but I guess I had to experience it to believe it.
I haven't had time to go lurk on the other boards recently, but I may check them out today anyway. My favorites are the ones that are having babies and the ones that are just finding out they are pregnant.
1. Work = annoying. Honestly, I really don't mind "work"...I like to keep busy, generally like (ok, maybe tolerate) my job, love (most of) the people I work with... But the last couple of days have consisted of doing and redoing and redoing a project due to someone else's poor communication. Being tired and grouchy on top of it all definitely doesn't help, either. Is it Friday yet? Or, better yet...is September yet? I'm ready for a break from this place...
2. This is weird, I will admit...but my vag aches! You know, like how it can ache during your period or after a day of steamy sexual rendezvous? Except I don't have my period and definitely haven't had any yummy sex in a while so what the heck!? This is day three or four of this already...if I must waddle while I walk due to tenderness I would MUCH prefer it be due to something a little more sexy, haha!
@JennM205 My vagina will ache like that in the morning. I'm guessing all the blood is rushing to it while I'm laying down, and there's already more blood flow to it just being pregnant in general. Thankfully, it's not causing waddling, but it makes my morning pee so, so uncomfortable.
This makes me think of something that happened when I got up to pee in the middle of the night. When I wiped, there was a drop of blood for several wipes (definitely from my vagina). Baby is moving fine, and it hasn't happened since, so I'm chalking it up to being a fluke, likely related to sexy times last night. I've just never experienced it before, so my mind went wild even though, rationally, I know everything is fine.
Babies are looking great with good heartbeats. They're both head down (one kind of diagonal and higher) and measuring 2 lb, 7 oz (1106 grams) each at 27 weeks, 5 days.
It looks like Baby B has a head full of hair on the u/s! Couldn't tell with A since he had his head jammed into my pelvis, so we couldn't see the top of it on the screen.
My weight gain is on track, my blood pressure is good and I passed my glucose screening, too! I feel like I'm winning at this whole pregnancy thing.
@MojieJo-GET IT MAMA!!! What an awesome appointment. I'm semi-hoping you have one with wild hair and one baldy. My son was hairy (head, back... hairy). I'm hoping this one is super bald
Re: June Randoms Thread
With all the GD tests happening, we will have to start the weekly GD check in soon. Having support on here is very helpful!
but I definitely can't wait for the GD check in!

@jhems776 I've forgotten my laptop when coming into my office more times than I care to admit. #superproductive
