@PSUBecky23 I haven't done much either aside from rearrange the guest bedroom / baby room around so that when my crib arrives next month I have somewhere to put it. I keep thinking I have more time than I really do and will probably really start around 30 weeks as well. I'm a bit of a procrastinator.
On another completely random note, nothing sounds appetizing for dinner. It's now 9 PM and I still haven't eaten, my healthy dinner plans of fish and veggies sounds horrible and when my fiancé suggested pizza I declined that as well. What is wrong with me?
@Sbrown721 I would be concerned that being a SAHM is messing with her mentally. Especially since she brought up being so lonely. I'd give her a chance to talk/explain if this is totally out of the norm behavior from her.
To be honest, this was my first thought. I wouldn't write it off as stalky until I actually talked to her to make sure there's nothing going on with her. She might be having a rough time and reaching out...
It's the first week of summer vacation and I'm already not a fan. All my friends with older kids warned me that, once the kids started elementary school, I would hate summers and be so excited for school to start again. I'm hoping it's just the transition from school to daycare. Seriously though, we're all having a hard time. Mornings are screwed up, evenings are screwed up (bedtime is generally between 7 and 7:30 and the last two nights we haven't sat down to dinner until between 6:30 and 6:45) and Elle and I are getting sick. The one upside? They're freaking exhausted when they get home from daycare!
Re nesting, the other day I felt the urge to clean up my laundry/craft room because I have some crafting I need to get done and I can't do it with all the crap in there right now, so I moved a bookshelf into the closet and started putting stuff away. DH comes in and tells me how I must be nesting and it's really sexy hahaha. I guess I don't get the urge to clean very often! But also my motivation was for crafting, so I don't really count it as nesting.
Re DH going away on business...as today is my last day of work for the school year, I am totally crashing his overnight trip to my college town with DS in tow. Sorry dude, no free night off without a kid for you. I'm super excited! I need to buy some gear for me, DS, and DS2
And my random...I got to work 40 minutes early this morning so I could work on cleaning up my room/packing up a bit because I'll be moving rooms towards the end of the summer, and I'm sitting her bumping instead because I haven't been able to keep up with this thread. OH WELL! It'll get done eventually
DH is drinking an ice cold beer and I'm sitting here drinking some ice cold prune juice.
This just reminded me I have ice cream at work leftover from a treat for my students yesterday. Ice cream sandwiches are totally appropriate breakfast food, right?
@lovelylauren86 I get so sore every time now! I haven't been able to figure out why, but I walk like a cowboy for like half a day after. It's not pretty. And DH wonders why I'm not as into it lately...
@Megan324 YES to Wegmans! I love that place way too much.
My random.. I'm off for the summer (I'm not a teacher but I'm fortunate to have June/July off every year) and the only thing I need to do is go back in and clean out my desk/area for the summer. It's the LAST thing I want to do but I really want to bring my work laptop home because it's much newer/nicer than the one I have at home.
I'm also realizing that now I have all the time in the world to get things ready for baby which means that I'll probably start procrastinating even more. It's not that I don't want to do stuff, I just don't know where to start!! I also have tons of work to do for my own side business and it's really hard to make myself do it when it's so nice outside and my brain knows that I have so much freedom right now
@SLou24 I was going shopping yesterday and I was really nauseous so I wanted a little snack and I remembered seeing a celery and carrot cup in the front of the store in their little snack section of the produce, but I also wanted a little hummus. When I got the cup it had hummus in it too! It was like Wegmans knew exactly what I needed lol
I'm so tired from pregsomnia. I actually feel a little sick to my stomach from not sleeping. Winning mother of the year by dozing on the couch while LO watches PBS kids. I'll make up for it soon when we go to swim lessons and the splash pad, but it doesn't feel awesome. And summer class started on Monday, which means grading... Ugh.
GD 1 hour Testing is done! So excited! I had it already started and was taking it while getting work done, I was sipping it then randomly checked the time - it was at the 5 minute mark. I downed half the sucker in ten seconds flat. Next time, I'll watch the clock more, lol.
@megan324 There is a Wegmans three blocks from me and an a Tops 2 blocks...I refuse to go to the Tops. I am totally a Wegmans junkie and love that it's starting to get the national attention (re: best supermarket of the year) that it completely deserves
I had 2 packets of high fiber oatmeal and 3 small apples this morning...I wish I had @PoodleDoodleOoo's dog, Fred, to blame the potential office toots that are surely soon to come!
Random: Last night my
DH told me that while walking with the dogs and his sister, his sister
mentioned to him that I look great pregnant and it looks good on me. She said it actually looks like I’ve lost
weight and apparently said ‘I don’t know, she just looks great.’ He thinks she felt weird saying the lost
weight thing when I’m 25 weeks pregnant, but I was always overweight and my
weight has definitely changed where it’s distributed. My face is skinnier and my tummy’s bigger, so
I know where she’s coming from as I noticed it too, but thought it was just
wishful thinking. Either way it
definitely made my night that my SIL thought I look great pregnant. Being overweight to being with, hearing that
definitely had me smiling for a LONG time.
Any others feel like they are relishing their last few months as child-free adults (or parents with fewer children)? I know my world is going to be rocked sideways once baby is here, so I am just focusing on soaking up as many lazy mornings, girls' nights, date nights, and adult-focused things as I can and I'm loving it.

Relish it! Relish it for all it's worth! I wish I had taken advantage more of lazy, child-free days while I was pregnant with my daughter. I was always go-go-go and there's no such thing as a lazy day once you have a child.
Went to the dentist yesterday and he said I have "quite a few cavities". Ew, it's totally creeping me out, even though I've had cavities before. Then I went and took my GD test right after. So of course my first post-cavity and GD test action was to buy ice-cream. Oops
I did find out that I get the tdap shot at my next appt and then appts start being every two weeks! I need to get my butt in gear on getting stuff done for baby! I spent the morning looking at baby clothes on the gap website. When I already have a ton of baby clothes from DD1. I think I'm officially losing it.
We spent an hour at our local indoor baby play place, then I weeded my flower gardens for over an hour. My husband gets home in about an hour and no idea what we are doing for the afternoon... I'm good with doing a whole lot of nothing (which is really not like me).
I know this has been said on here before, but teething is a bitch that can go to hell. DD is getting her last four teeth (until the 2 yr molars come in). She's waking up in the middle of the night crying, going right back to sleep in my arms, then waking up angry when I try to lay her back in her crib. And she won't have anything to do with DH, so it's entirely up to me to get her back to bed. I've been putting her in bed with us for a couple hours because I just can't stay up all night rocking her while she sleeps in my arms. Last night was the worst... she was up crying by 9:45, and didn't make it back to her bed until 1 am. Ibuprofen isn't helping. I'm just praying that last night being the worst is a sign that it can only get better from here. (Which is nice thought in theory... usually teething messes up her sleep for nearly a month and we're about a week in.)
On a brighter note, we had a lovely morning shopping at Target and getting our Starbucks on, and she has been peacefully napping for an hour now.
@camichael84 so much sympathy on the teething front. DD once got a tooth a week for FIVE weeks straight. Hope they come in soon and you get a break! And some sleep!
@Sporty1216At least PBS is educational? I did quite a bit of napping while DD watched Shrek during my first-tri. Not my finest, but sometimes you do what you gotta do. I'm sure to your a little guy thinks some TV followed by swimming and a splash pad is a great day. I mean, that sounds like a great day to me, and I'm 31.
@poodledoodleooo I tried to relish it before my first was born, but now feel like I didn't relish it enough. This time I'm trying to soak up my daughter's last time as an only child as much as possible, but feel like I'm probably still not doing as well I could. But that may be my mom guilt there...
@abberson I'm so sorry your daughter's teeth came in like that. We lucked out and DD didn't start getting them until 10.5 months, and they've come in in sets of 3-4 at a time. I'll be so glad when it's all over. But by the time she gets done with her 2 yr molars, this baby will probably start teething.
@camichael84 Mine too!!! Gah, she's usually in bed by 7:30 and last night she cried and cried and didn't go to sleep until 9:30. Then woke up at 3:30 crying. Uuuugh I hate teething.
So if my daughter takes an hour to go to sleep (for months now) and she's not teething, what's her excuse? Sorry so many are dealing with teething. I just hope some day, I will be able to put her to bed and have her actually stay there. Freaking threenager.
I am throwing myself a pity party today for my failed glucose test (already put in the GD thread). I feel bummed and, at the same time, lame because I feel like I can't eat all the things for my pity party. You can't throw a legitimate pity party without ice cream or chocolate.
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom You just failed the one hour, right? If it makes you feel any better about it, something like half of failed one hours go on to pass the three hour test. Try not to beat yourself up or overthink it especially before you talk to your OB, and know that Snickers bar ice creams are pretty good carb-wise (as long as you stop at one).
I made a strawberry pretzel "salad", and I can NOT stop eating it. Ladies, if you've never tried it... Salty, sweet, cream cheese.... Mmmmm.
The last time I made this, I was pregnant with DS. Apparently, it's my pregnancy thing. YUM!
So lucky! I get to eat this exactly once a year...on Memorial Day when my sister makes it. It's so good. Now I want some, but I'm too lazy to figure out how to make it!
@camichael84 I was going to reply when I got a call saying my levels were too high to do the 3 hour so I officially have GD I guess there's nothing to do but manage it and move forward!
Re: June Randoms Thread
Wegmans is the best. Anyone who doesn't live near one has my deepest condolences

@PSUBecky23 Can't wait to see the 80s car shot!
