Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
The tech did our anatomy scan and everything seemed great. The doctor came in and immediately scanned everything again because my 'numbers' from my first trimester screening blood work were not what she expected for a 33 year old. (Numbers meaning chance of T21). This was the first I had heard anything of it! Because the number was still within the range considered low-risk, they didn't tell me, but as the doctor said, she had slight concerns. She said my NT was perfect and the anatomy scan looked perfect. But now I'm impatiently waiting for my second trimester screening blood work and hoping the numbers are more in-line with my age, and even farther into the 'normal zone.' Anyone have a higher than expected screening number?
Oh, and it's a girl! So excited, but still a little anxious with this recent hiccup, although from reading, I'm assured that it's entirely normal for blood screening results to be wonky.
We went today! Woo! I was so nervous but they said everything looked perfect. I didn't get weight or measurments because I had to pee SO bad that I decided to run out to pee rather than get measurments. I go back in 8 weeks so next time! We're Team Green so no gender. The technician asked us look away when she was fiddling around below the waist. I doubt I would have been able to tell anyway but I know DH would have done his best to find out so he decided to look away, too lol I'm so relieved!
We have a BOY on the way. He is amazing and so proud of his boy parts. Everything looks great but we get an extra scan at like 34 weeks because he really only wanted to show his man parts off. I guess I should get used to that!

How did it go? Amazing!! Baby was very cooperative and we got some good pictures. All of the measurements looked great and baby is growing right on schedule!! I hadn't felt much movement (still don't) so I was so anxious for this appointment. Turns out I have an anterior placenta hence the little movement I feel. Baby is healthy though and now I can relax a little...
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? She's a girl!!! Still can't believe it. DS was the 6th grandson on DHs side and I was the last girl in the family on mine. We are a family of boys to say the least...so shocked we are actually having a girl. I expected (and would have been just as excited for) another little boy so still processing this news!! We were also planning on doing a small gender reveal thing for my parents, but before my mom even opened their gift I accidentally said "she" when showing her an ultrasound pic. Whoops!! She was so thrilled though!! Bring on the pink!!
June 8th can't come soon enough I can't wait until our anatomy scan. We are team green and the other night I had a dream that our tech accidentally told us the sex of our baby.
I go first thing tomorrow morning to the hospital for our scan. It can't come fast enough. Getting so anxious and excited. I can't wait to see our little man. Since I'm over 35 I get a super-dooper scan, level 2. I can't wait to see these images. I just want to know that everything is OK. He's definitely an active little guy so that makes me somewhat more at ease.

How did it go? It was good! Little booger was sound asleep and would not let us get a good profile picture, but the tech did the best she could. She bounced him with the ultrasound wand and he would stretch and fall right back to sleep, haha!
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? We are officially Team Blue! It was the same tech we had for the Nuchal scan, and she called boy at 12w, so it was fun to have her confirm it. We're going to try to keep the gender a secret (I just wanted to know if I should keep my girl stuff from DD or not lol) and do a reveal at our little sprinkle this summer, but we'll see how long we can keep our mouths shut lol.
Countdown to Baby H! Mommy to Elizabeth (6/18/09), preemie at 34 weeks
How did it go? Baby is measuring about a week behind, but still okay on weight so we go back in 4 weeks for a growth scan. I'm trying to not be worried, but I won't be seeing any of my midwives until July and I don't like the OB's attitude so hopefully my next appointment with him goes well and I can get back to the care team I like.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? I've got an anterior placenta (but we knew that) but it is higher up so no complications there. Also, she is still a girl and I can stop worrying that maybe the (very obviously a girl) elective scan could be wrong because I was so early.
I go tomorrow too @sportiegrl1213! We've been team green all along, but now I'm waffling with our appointment being tomorrow. We'll see. Have fun/good luck tomorrow!
How did it go? AMAZING! Tommy is perfect. He's very active and he was a little stubborn too. He wouldn't turn his face for a long time but he finally let us see him face on at the end. He likes to be a one position.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? He seems to be a chill baby. Lol. Also learned that he's 11 oz and 5.5" and he's right on time!! So excited and so happy!! Now I can breath a bit!

How far along were you/will you be? 20w,2days, but measuring 22w
How
did it go? It was great! I liked our tech, she was great telling us what everything was and what we were looking at. Our doctor is on vacation, so we met with a nurse practitioner after. She asked if we have any questions, and we were like...um, does everything look ok? She just said, yep everything looks normal! And that was that. I was expecting a lot more details, but hopefully we'll hear more from our doctor at our next appointment.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? We were planning on being team green but decided to find out. Very shocked (I know, 50/50 shot) that we're having a boy. I think because I already have a daughter, I picture myself raising girls. I'm excited for this little boy, but just worried if he and my daughter will have a close relationship. Before having kids I always thought we'd have 2 of the same, so I'm sort of opposite of most people. Not disappointed by any means, just in shock.
ETA: Ok, a couple hours later and sifting through baby boy nurseries and clothes. OMG, I'm buying ALLLLL the sweaters with elbow patches! Can't wait to snuggle this little boy!
I can finally catch up with you all - my scan is tomorrow! Hoping there's someone in the office who hasn't completely checked out mentally by the time I get there, considering it's in the afternoon right before a holiday weekend...
Thanks @MRSCORKER! My ob wasn't there today, but I was told by the tech that they usually won't change the date unless they're ahead by over 2 weeks. Baby was measuring over 1lb already at 20 weeks, which seems on the high side compared to everyone else. My first always measured at least a week ahead and she was 9lbs7oz...and 3 days late , so I'm expecting to have another huge kid, lol!
How did it go? Hard to tell because it was it was just a tech, and the results will go to a doctor later. I was a little nervous because she took a LOT of pictures of the heart. We'll see if we get any calls about it.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? It's a GIRL! Totally surprised us both because we thought it was a boy the entire time. Baby's little belly was so cute though.
@spaceburger I wouldn't be worried about taking lots of pictures of the heart. My boy wouldn't let our tech see his heart clearly so I have to go back in. She said they have to look at each chamber and get measurements so I can imagine that would mean a few different pictures.
How did it go? Pretty good - no problems discovered that they told us about. The tech was reasonably informative, telling us what we were looking at. The baby would not allow any decent face shot, though, so we got two pictures this time (got 4 and 5 the last two times) and both are completely useless. The tech said she was trying to get the nose and lips but couldn't. I was very relieved to see the heart beating away in there.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? We knew it was a girl from the blood test. It's apparently 13 oz. (how accurate that is, I don't know) and the tech commented that the femur was long, which is expected given that my husband and I are both tall. Since we couldn't see much of the face (got brief flashes but nothing solid) it's nice to have that one detail.
(In case I sound all distant, we're keeping the sex a secret from everyone else right now, so trying not to get into the habit of calling the baby "she" yet - hence all the "it"s.)
@SpaceBurger Had my scan today and the tech said it was common to spend a lot of time on the heart! They like to see all the parts of it and make sure blood is flowing through all ventricles... I wouldn't worry!
How did it go? Great! Had a moment of panic beforehand that a limb would be missing or something, but doctor says all looks well! Got to see the head and brain, legs, hands and this e ridiculously adorable little feet! Baby decided to chill towards the end though and wouldn't flip over enough to get a good shot of the spine, so back I go in 2 weeks!
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? No gender slip, so still team green! Measuring 10 oz. and only like 2 days ahead. So all looks right on target! Other than the spine pic, the tech said baby was very cooperative...hoping this is a trait baby hangs onto on the outside!
How did it go? It seemed like it went very well. However, the tech couldn't tell me any information pertaining to how the baby was doing she said that my doctor will go over everything with me. I was previously told I was only allowed to bring one person but the sweet tech let me bring in my hubby and my best friend. I told the tech right off the bat that we didn't want to know the sex but that my best friend was going to know so that she could set up the balloon for the big reveal on Sunday in front of our friends and family. Since the tech knew we didn't want to spoil the surprise she had us looking away a lot during the appointment because she didn't want us to accidentally see anything that would give it away which was kind of unfortunate. On the bright side, we got tons of photos & I am so excited for Sunday! I am so happy that I was able to control myself and not peak. By the way she was so careful about having us look away it made it seem like we're having a boy but who knows! (Only my best friend does! Lol)
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? I learned that my placenta is positioned in the front of my belly and that baby likes to stay curled up nuzzled against it. The tech couldn't get baby to stretch out so that she could get a clear measurement of the length. We also learned that baby is 14oz. our sweet little Nanners❤️ (Baby is the size of a Banana this week)
So jealous of all these awesome anatomy scans! We don't have ours with our MFM until 6/23 (which makes me almost 23 weeks as well). just glad it was finally scheduled.
When is/was your scan? Last Friday (5/27) and an emergency Level 2 US Yesterday
How far along were you/will you be? 21+ 3 and 21+6
How did it go? overall so so, FTM and im always a worrier
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? We
learned we are having a little girl (15oz) which we are super excited
about but we also learned that she has Unilateral mulitcystic dysplatic
kidney. Basically she has several cysts (one much larger) on her left
Kidney that could be nothing or could be interfering with her kidney and
eventually cause the kidney to stop functioning. Unfortunately they
can not indefinitely determine the severity of the cysts until she is
born then we will have to see a specialist. Needless to say it was a
long memorial day weekend. Anyone else experiencing similar issues?
@bieberm04 My little guy has enlarged kidneys but it's not cystic. My OBS wasn't concerned and said it usually resolves in Utero but worse case scenario we'll have to see a pediatric urologist if it doesn't resolve by 30 weeks. It's concerning but as long as it isn't life threatening Andy doc isn't worried, I'm gonna try not to worry too. Hang in there, I know it's nerve wracking!

Thank god the place got me in quick everything went great minus LO wouldn't let the tech get all the heart pictures but told me everything is fine just LO being a wiggle worm
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? IT'S A GIRL! After having two boys I'm finally getting a girl! First girl this generation on both sides of the family. Everyone is thrilled.
How did it go? It went ok. I was happy to see my LO and know he/she is developing as expected.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Yes, Learned that he/she is a little on the small side but still within normal weight so i'm happy about that. We also learned i have low amniotic fluid so baby doesn't have a lot of room but we're working on getting baby more space. They also said there's a 70% chance its a girl but they couldn't be 100% because baby was being stubborn and had its legs crossed. ( super excited to have a girl but i'm scared to refer to it as a girl just in case it's not!) We go to a MFM on the 14 to get another AS and i'm super excited for baby to hopefully have more room and show us its gender so we can know for sure!
SO and I have been together: 5 Years+ BFP: 03/10 First Baby: 10/20/2016
How did it go? Great! Baby was very cooperative. It was the fastest anatomy scan I've had.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Baby is a girl! She's measuring right on track with a nice, strong heartbeat! She a mover, she wiggled around the whole time!
How far along were you/will you be? 19W I have kaiser. I took the first appointment they would give me.
How did it go? It was so surreal. We watched our little one for nearly an hour while the tech measured everything. They don't tell you anything while they are doing the scan and snapping pictures except for the sex so we were really relieved to get the email from our doctor to let us know everything looked normal and measured as it should.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Yes, he is a healthy boy!
I feel like I finally get to play! Lol. I avoided this thread due to my own impatience
When is/was your scan? today!
How far along were you/will you be? 19 weeks on the dot
How did it go? overall extremely well! Sweet baby was a touch stubborn with some of the shots, and took her sweet time rolling over for profile views. The only potential negative is that my placenta is right next to my cervix. Not covering fortunately, but close enough that doc said no sex until/unless it moves up. She'll recheck around 26 weeks. If it doesn't move then I'll be looking at a scheduled c-section. I had a med free birth with DD1, so that will all be new.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? yes, that we're team Pink! I'm so excited to have another girl. We got a couple really good pictures of her face, and she is just the most beautiful thing. We both agree that she looks very different than DD1 did in her ultrasound pictures.
How did it go? It went great! So nice to get to see baby for so long. Confirmed its a boy, he was a little stubborn rolling over, but we got to see everything they needed. Everything looks great, weighing 13 oz with a heartbeat of 147, we just could not be more excited! He is measuring 6 days ahead, so I'm thinking he is going to be a big boy like his dad (who was almost 10 pounds when he was born)
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Nothing new, just enjoyed seeing him move all over. He kept putting his little hands up to his face like a boxer. Overall, just a perfect start to my Monday!
My scan is Wednesday (I'll be 20+4) and reading all of these makes me so excited. We've decided we won't find out the gender at the appointment, but we'll have a nurse or someone call the cupcake place where we're having gender reveal cupcakes made to tell them the sex. That evening we're doing dinner with our families and we'll all find out together. That is, unless I change my mind in the room and absolutely have to know. DH is pretty set on waiting to find out. I don't know if I can wait a few extra hours.

We go to a MFM on the 14 to get another AS and i'm super excited for baby to hopefully have more room and show us its gender so we can know for sure!

How did it go? Great! Baby was very cooperative. It was the fastest anatomy scan I've had.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Baby is a girl! She's measuring right on track with a nice, strong heartbeat! She a mover, she wiggled around the whole time!
