You guys are already packing your hospital bag?? What!!
I'm due June 5th. My theory is if I don't do it now, I'll totally forget about it and then show up at the hospital with nothing because I saw a shiny penny and got sidetracked lol.
This! My Mom had all three of her children before 39 weeks and my Mother in law had both of hers at 37 weeks. I'll be 34 weeks Monday, so my bag will be packed by then...just in case. Scary stuff.
At 35 weeks, my daughter was in the 14th percentile for size. By 42 weeks (yep, she really didn't feel like leaving) she emerged at 8lbs. I think a lot of measurement stuff can change in the last few weeks. Edit- that was not a "shit getting real" post- it was just a comment on all the talk of big babies. I don't know that shit has gotten too real for me yet, but my husband is Mr. Preparedness so the hospital bag has been packed for a week.
Okay just had my moment. Was sent to triage at the hospital after my BP recheck appointment and it being high. Of course we had to stop and get Taco Bell on the way. Then go home and pack a bag in case I was held overnight. Just realized I need to keep my bag packed and not only that get some post-delivery nursing attire: bras and a tank top. Not to mention we still need a ton of baby gear.
I'm home now because my BP was fine when I got to the hospital. My provider told my husband he's hoping I can hang on and not develop pre-E until at least 37 weeks and thinks based on the other cases he has seen I will delivery early. Okay Amazon here I come!
Had my moment yesterday. Due to my history of hypertension I am being induced the week of May 23rd at 37 weeks. I have not had problems with my blood pressure and surprisingly it has been low but she said its too much of a risk to wait to go into labor naturally.

I have no knowledge of your medical history but if this is true, it seems awfully aggressive to induce at 37 weeks if your BP has truly been totally normal. Seems like a CYA thing for your doc. I also have a hx of high BP and was able to go to 41+2 with number 1 and if I continue to have no signs of BP issues with this one I will go until 41 weeks (and that's bc of prior c-section not bc of BP). Again, I don't know your story but it may be worth a discussion with your provider. 37 weeks is early for your LO if it can be avoided and induction comes with its own set of issues...whatever you and your provider decide, GL!

Yea I am not thrilled at the thought of induction because I know the risk for me to get a C-Section is greater. I wanted to wait until she is ready to come on her own. My OB seems to believe its better to be induced to hold off potential issues with pre-eclampsia.
Well the two other Preggo ladies at work gave birth one on 4/20 due 4/29 the other 4/21 due 5/12 thankfully the day is almost over I was half scared I would be 4/22 for a sec lol.

That is scary! Did they have pre existing conditions with them both delivering early?? My best friend was told today that she was going to have to most likely deliver at 37/38 weeks. She's two days ahead of me. Crazy how fast time is flying

The 4/20 lady had GD and made it to like 38 something, I'm pretty sure they were not going to let her go past 39. Second lady 4/21 had her H2O break. Yeah the PTL thing is kind of scary for me, I had lots of PTL with my twins and had them in an unrelated emergency c at 33 weeks. I'm hoping I can at least make 37-38 with guy!
ETA: I'm not taking any chances, my last day of work is 5/2 and I'm due 6/6 (funnily enough my 10 yr anniversary at my company)
Last night a friend of mine had her baby, and she was due just one month before me. Baby is healthy and will go home with no NICU stay. That could be me in a month!
I think shit got real for my fiancé last night. I'm 30 weeks and every time he's tried, he hasn't felt baby move. I grabbed his hand unannounced and shoved it on my belly. He felt like five tiny punches, but they felt huge to him. He looked like a deer in headlights. I felt so bad for laughing at him.

I love the first time dads feel their baby(ies) move! It's the best!
Both my mom and mother-in-law got to feel the baby kick yesterday, as well as receiving the best news that the baby is finally head down! 5 weeks to go!
Installed the car seat today!!! Packed the diaper bag and started our go bags too. DH has been really helping me make sure that all our housework is done every night so I can have a chance to just relax, as baby makes things really uncomfortable by the end of the day.
My "sh## just got real moment" was on Saturday when we toured the hospital. It's a whole new outlook when you actually see the place where your baby will be born. My husband was a deer in the headlights the whole time. It's getting very real for him that she's going to be here in less than 9 weeks!
I have no idea what caused it exactly, but ive definitely gotten to the stage! Im just more coming to terms with the fact that there is actually going to be an actual baby here in my house everyday forever, starting like 5-6 weeks or less. Less in my personal opinion. All the ''stuff'', the hospital tours, the ultrasounds, the pediatrician, the birth classes, I think that all just made me really realize im going to have to go through labor and really have a reality check on that, but just this past week am i finally like wow a real baby is going to be here after all that!
I just sat in the recliner in what will be babies room (walking around was tiring....I needed a quick break) and was rocking the cradle back and forth with my foot and I realized that some time in the next 2 months I will have a baby in that cradle. Although....when I say two months it still sounds like a long ass time.

Say 8 (7, 6 etc) weeks instead. It seems about a year shorter than 2 months.

Had my 34 week appointment today and baby Sydney is head Down!! Which means she's already like her mom and is kicking her parents in the ribs. Got even more real when my OB told me that they've already assigned us a pediatrician, who also happens to be MY pediatrician from when I was a kid. Got even MORE real when I was told she will most likely be a May baby based on the fact that her head is at my bladder and her feet are essentially in my lungs and she's running out of room. But I'll always be a June BMB'er
So my parents are going on a trip to Europe for a month, leaving today. (Which is super awesome, I'm very excited for them!) But they get back right before my EDD, so now I'm like 'oh god oh god this is seriously soon.' I still have a bunch of stuff to prepare (the diaper stash, food stores, etc) and a number of random things to buy (swaddling and crib sheets, totally random things), and oh man.
I had to bump this thread because I found out when I got home from the hospital tour last night that a friend who was due for her third on the same day as me (June 9) had her daughter yesterday at 34 weeks (weighed 5 lbs 12 oz). That was a whole new dimension of "whoa".

@alileecam that IS crazy! 5lbs 12oz was my own weight at birth- so seems like a pretty normal and healthy weight! I really don't want to have a baby in 2 weeks! I need some rest time before he gets here!
I'm having my moment right now.....I'm training my replacement that's going to cover for me while I'm gone. I keep telling people that I have plenty of time she doesn't need to start yet....but they insist. Also, my midwife gave me birth plan packet and other stuff to "prepare" me.
I just finished packing babies hospital bag and my hospital bag. Put them both along with the boppy, a fuzzy blanket and two pillows in the back of our car. All that's left is hubby to pack his bag. Seriously all sunk in... 26 days until my due date. Insanity

You guys are good with the packing! Why the hell can I not motivate my self to pack a damn bag?! I gave birth at 33 weeks last time for crying out loud, I know babies can come early!!!
@Tawny87 I made myself start packing this weekend because I'm 33 weeks and my son came at 34. I put in some yoga pants and a maternity dress I can nurse in (but haven't actually tried on this pregnancy) before I lost interest. I feel like it's some subconscious thing, like if I am packed and ready, he'll think he can come. You'd think being stuck in the hospital last time with no glasses, clean underwear or a toothbrush after giving birth would have motivated me this time, but apparently not. I guess I'll try again this weekend. Oh, and after I packed, I was like "hrm, I guess I need to take some baby stuff." Yeah, that should probably sink in soon too, since even if I do go full term, I'm having a baby soon. Baby brain, ladies. It's very real.

Glad I'm not the only one lol! Yeah thankfully the hospital is like 7 minutes away but I keep telling myself how idiotic it is to need to send somebody to my house to get something because I couldn't get it together and pack.
It got so real today. I'm 36+5 weeks and during our Sonogram I saw a foot and counted 5 toes....I was like there is really a person inside of me! I made a person. Then my doctor checked me and I'm 1cm dilated. So I guess this is all pretty real now!
