I bought a Snoogle this weekend and it's been absolutely fantastic so far -- like a boppy on steroids -- but man, it's hilariously huge. My boys tried to play tug of war with it and can beat each other with either end of the pillow without getting all that close to one another. My husband says he feels replaced (and I'd love to draw a happy little bearded face on one end to play that up).
Maybe I just have an affinity for silly oversized things.
September '16 - May Signature Challenge Awkward Family Fun
@LizC216 I was thinking the same thing and totally counted out on my fingers! AHH!! (hopefully more like 4.5 months for me though )
Speaking of kid preferences...My kid is attached to my hip. It's been really hard these past few weeks especially when I've been putting in a lot more time at work for my show. I was hardly home with him this weekend and he spent the night at my parents' last night so I haven't seen him since before I left for yesterday's show. I know he'll be stuck to me for the rest of the night once I get home (which could be interesting since his 2 year well check is right after work) I really wish he'd be more comforted by my husband (they have a great relationship, he just 100% prefers me) and it makes me nervous for when the baby comes that he's going to have a really hard time not having me all the time. (Add to it that because I'm a teacher we'll have the whole summer off just the two of us) ugh, yea, this ended up turning into a mom guilt thing. The struggle is real...
@LizC216 Yes, only four months - it's hard to believe!! Especially seeing my sister with her newborn and older DD this weekend...part of me was like, "Holy sh!t, that will be me in four months, I'm not ready, what am I going to do?!" And at the same time, another part of me looked on thinking, "I can't wait!" (For newborn snuggles again, for DD to officially be a Big Sister, to not be pregnant again, haha.)
@AnnaS930 I think it was you that said 18 weeks 6 days felt so much shorter, and today I looked at my countdown that says 18 weeks 4 days to go and OMG I totally get what you mean.
I spent all weekend thinking I am a week + farther along than I actually am. Wakeup call this morning when I opened the app, obviously my brain has departed this situation.
@Megan324-Yes, that was me, good memory! Certain lengths of time (especially when it jumps from x weeks, to the next x week 6 days) just feels so much closer. Woop woop!
I know a lot of women don't give a lot of weight to viability dates, but I just remembered that some look forward to 24 weeks for that "milestone" and that's just around the corner!!
I am sorry I have been MIA but between work and personal life, I have had a pretty busy 2 weeks. I am on page 65 of the April Randoms trying to catch up and have been reading each and every update of what has been going on with ya'll. I had started to reply last week and got disrupted at work and now feel bad I hadn't. But I have been feeling for you and laughing with you and am looking forward to being caught up on everyone's happenings these past 2 weeks. I definitely have a lot to share too! I will post more when I get a chance but I just had to drop in randomly to ask you not to forget me and to forgive my absence!
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
I've been crazy hungry recently. I need to either get a hang of it or get healthier habits. Had two servings of pasta at lunch and TWO slices of cake. In my defense, the pasta was whole wheat and the slices were small. Who am I kidding? It was carbs and fat galore. I need to stop baking cakes.
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom I wish I was hungry, I have to force myself to eat and I can't stand it! I loveeee food so its so hard to not want to eat! Unless its BK breakfast sandwiches, man alive I had 3 the other day
So I made a weird discovery this weekend. I got out of the shower and noticed my nipple had some weird white stuff on it. I was like, dead skin? Then I was like... That's not dead skin. So I squeezed a little and behold: The tiniest bit of milk came out. I tried the other one and sure enough, itty bitty amount of milk. I guess my boobies are really excited about this baby? I didn't lactate with my daughter pre-birth, so I was surprised!
This started happening to me at 16 weeks and I'm a first time mom... And now every few days there's dry stuff on my nipple and it comes off in one little ball of dried milk lol.
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom we discovered chick pea pasta and it's GLORIOUS!! There is so much protein in that stuff and it's pasta you don't have to feel guilty about eating.
@marajay and the other mommas feeling guilt- I HEAR YA!! DH is home with DS during the day and then we switch shifts when I get home. It's rough, but that's how we've made things work the past year. I am also a teacher so I'll be spending the majority of the summertime with DS and be able to bond with him before baby comes. I feel as though this will be bittersweet bc I don't know how he will react to a new baby in the house. Right now he would be fine with it bc he absolutely favors DH. Mommy guilt BLOWS.
@kosmo86 Thanks! I'm so looking forward to it...it hasn't quite set in yet that it's just us in the house again. But it already feels calmer and more peaceful...which is strange because BIL wasn't rambunctious or anything. Just so nice to have things back to normal. And not wear pants.
@JennM205 woooohooooo I'm so glad BIL is gone (you totally called the May date)!! Also, congrats on being an aunt again! I was there for my sister's birth and it was very amazing!
DH fell asleep with his head in my lap a couple days ago, just pressing against the bottom of my bump. After maybe 10 minutes, Baby A started punching him in the back of the head and then about 5 minutes later Baby B joined in.
And, of course, DH slept through the whole thing and missed it.
They're already crowded enough without being smushed from outside, apparently!
I'm jealous of everyone who has witnessed a birth! The closest I've come is watching Kourtney give birth on the Kardashians. Totally outing myself as a trash tv dummy, I know.
After all the leaky boob talk I totally just checked on mine. Not yet! With DD I started leaking around 22 weeks. Then when my mild actually came in it was crazy! Heads up to any mamas that have/had nipple piercings... milk comes out of all 3 holes!
ETA: Sorry if that was more TMI than general conversation, but I still remember my shock and amusement at the discovery, and rushing off to show DH my new trick!

That was epic that she pulled the baby out herself!
On the milk topic, I've been noticing some dried bits on most days. I never thought it would start this early. I hope this means I won't have any difficulty once baby is here
My random is that everyone's akward family photos are cracking me up while I browse at work. I have to get in an update my signature this month. They are seriously so funny.
@Megan324 I feel like I popped overnight too! I am excited to show off my bump finally on Wednesday's board.
@mom2adoodle I know it is not the same as in person but YouTube is great for seeing births. We watch 2 a week at the end of my hypnobirthing class. It is really helping to desensitize me to the whole idea/shock factor of it all.
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
I'll have to go on the computer to see everyone's siggies! I'm sure they're hilarious.
It's funny that everyone is talking about the nipple leakage. Last night was the first time I discovered a clump of the stuff on my nip. I've been seeing small clumps for a few weeks but never explored it, just washed it off when I showered. All this talk has me going ew though
So my latest and greatest news is that I was just put on "pelvic rest" for at least the next 8 weeks. I am sure there are many of you have have gone through this but I sure was mourning the idea of it over the weekend (I found out Friday). So my a/s revealed a healthy baby boy as I said before, but also that I have a low laying placenta. I guess it is pretty common and 9 times out of 10, it moves up the uterus as it grows. However, because it is so close to my cervix, my doctor wants me to take precautions and that means NO SEX, NO ORGASMS and NO EXERCISE (except walking) until I have another ultrasound at 28 weeks to see if it moved up. I know it could be worse and if I get placenta previa than I will be on pelvic rest for the rest of the pregnancy and could even get put on bed rest (according to my research). The odds are in my favor that this will resolve itself but being told you can't have sex all of a sudden makes me want nothing more. LOL.
Add that to work being crazy busy and stressful and some pressure to get registered in the next 2-3 weeks since I am traveling a lot at the end of May and first half of June (shower invites are going out the first week of June). Just a lot going on!
But I am happy to read so many good news stories and that everyone is feeling babies move, planning nurseries, etc. It is such an exciting time!!!

Put on a tv show for my daughter tonight before bed and then sat down next to her to eat my dinner. Out pops a little foot because she can never freaking sit still and knocks my plate to the floor. Ice cream for dinner it is.
Sounds to me like she did you a favor @PSUBecky23. But seriously, sorry that it happened! I have dropped my own dinner by accident after working hard to make it. I wish I had ice cream on hand then!

Is anyone else like "Oh my god. I can't believe I'm pregnant. I can't believe this is happening" still? It's like the initial shock of seeing a positive pregnancy test has not *really* worn off. I'm wondering at what point I'll really be able to wrap my head around this. (At this rate, not until I'm holding him/her in my arms.)
@KimmySchmidt I'm feeling that way as well. It's like I'm going to be that lady who unknowingly hits week 40 and all of a sudden a baby pops out as I'm sitting on the toilet
This happens to me sometimes too, @KimmySchmidt and @RedMar ! I'll look down and see my belly and be surprised for a minute before I remember. Oh yeah, I'm pregnant! Haha
I remember I'm pregnant but still finding it hard to believe this bump leads to a real life living breathing baby (God willing of course). Getting baby gear makes it a little more real but for now it's very very surreal
@KimmySchmidt@mom2adoodle@RedMar@Sporty1216 This is so me. I tell my fiancé all the time "I can't believe we are having a baby" and he just goes "uhh start believing because he is coming" lol
Now that I feel him kicking every day and getting our first baby present it's really starting to feel real.
WTF is it with people around me randomly becoming anti-vax all of a sudden?
With the exception of one person, they've never had an issue with vaccines before.
I don't want to get into details right now, but I'm losing my damn mind and this latest one has the potential to majorly impact close family relationships well into the future.
I mean I know I'm pregnant (although it still amazes me), but the idea that there are going to be two babies in our house this fall and they're going to be mine is just failing to compute so much of the time in spite of all the stuff we've bought and the kicks and punches I can feel and, of course, the round belly.
