@Jabreen me too!!! I can't wait till there are kicks in there with my thumping heartbeat!
@PSUBecky23 I don't blame you- I don't know how all the Team Green ladies do it! Such strong will! I'm a total control freak and I just HAD to find out so I can plan.
@runningisrad I've noticed some dried white stuff once in a while, so it must be a little colostrum already, which blows my mind!
@Annas930 OMG people suck! I agree- the only thing anyone should ever say to a pregnant woman is how wonderful she looks- even if it's not true! So far it's been good for me- no stupid ass comments- but I bet they will be coming as I continue to grow! p.s.- you look fabulous!!! Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!
@blondie080300 YAY! Glad to see you on again- I missed you! I'm sorry to hear about the pelvic rest, but I'm sure it will clear up. My placenta was lying a little low in the beginning so they had to go in and check intra-vaginally- luckily it has shifted up a little since then so I'm okay but still have to be a little careful. I hope yours moves up for you too AND I can't wait to see the bump!!! It's like we're all finally popping!
@RG1 OMG your siggy is HILARIOUS! I can't stop laughing when I see it!
@kimmyschmidt I feel the same- I don't know if it will feel real until I'm holding him in my arms- and even then, it will still probably be surreal!
Definitely feeling the same. Super weird to see people looking at my protruding belly too.
On a side note, wtf, belly has literally felt like it's been stretching ALL day (and it's probably little one growing since I didn't overeat or anything).
Just realized we didn't do our Monday Bitchfest thread. These daily threads rarely catch on around here lol. I'm not complaining, just commenting. I see some BMBs have tons and tons of comments on their daily threads and ours don't even get started! hahaha
Even though it doesn't apply to me, I'm annoyed that there's no January 2017 BMB yet. I'm looking forward to seeing that as it shows we're one month closer.
All I want to do these days is sleep on my back! I keep waking up having rolled over. I know it's not the end of the world to do that, but I've been training myself to side sleep for weeks! And now that I'm at the point in my pregnancy where it's really recommended, I can't stop rolling to my back! It's driving me crazy.
@KimmySchmidt I'm with you on that one!! I don't forget that I'm pregnant, but as someone else said, I don't think my brain has truly wrapped around the fact that a real, living baby will be at the end of this. The anatomy scan helped because she looks so cute and real, but I'm hoping as I start to gather more baby stuff my brain will start realizing just how real this is about to get VERY soon!!
And for the other ladies, as far as the milk/colostrum, I started noticing some dried stuff every once in a while and I was blown away by how early it is to be noticing that. Glad to know I'm not alone!
@Sporty1216 same here! I want to back and stomach sleep so bad! Stomach has been out for a while now and I dont think I could accidentally roll that way if I wanted to, but sleeping on my back feels really good! Until it doesnt. I've noticed myself getting lightheaded when I stay that way and I really notice my pulse. Might be my brain tricking me, but I guess it works.
Last time the most surreal part of being pregnant for me was the actual delivery. I knew what was going on, I felt the contractions, I pushed for 1 1/2 hours, but when the baby finally appeared in the delivery room, I just kinda felt like "whoa there's suddenly a baby in the room!" It was incredibly weird and magical.
The he first time he pooped when my husband and I were alone with him, I kinda wanted to page the nurse and either ask permission or have them change him. I was all like "what do we do!?!" My husband gave me a weird look and I was like "oh I guess this is our responsibility now"
Has anyone seen the Google Doodle for today? It must be the pregnancy hormones, but every time I open my browser I go 'Awwww.' I love the last one that looks like they're just trying to catch the bus.
DH and I started our registry this weekend! It was hilarious and eye-opening! I also had to go back into it yesterday and remove a bunch of items that DHs trigger happy hands added as 'No dear, we do not in fact know that it's a boy, we may be having a girl.' Cue taking 8 adorable boys clothes off the list.
Lastly...reading this thread on lactating now....WHAT!?!?! I really didn't think that could start happening until week 32 or something. I'm blind as a bat so I couldn't tell you if there's any residue on my breasts when I'm in the shower, but now I feel like I need to do the check in the morning to see if I need to start investing in nursing pads. ....I'm also laughing a little inside as I feel this means DH will get a shock at some point in the future a lot closer then he thought he would.
I've fully accepted/realized that I'm pregnant but the actuality of a second baby won't hit until we get home from the hospital. I even felt like it still wasn't quite real after delivering my son for the 36 hours we were in the hospital
So...Facebook invite is from an August mom with one comment (her FB announcement back in March) and her only 3 threads are in A16/S16/O16 to get people over to FB...very weird. Also, I know that some of us will fall into an August or October delivery date, but why would we join a group with people we know absolutely nothing about?
@blondie080300Good to have you back! Sorry to hear about the pelvic rest. I've only ever been on it for a week or two at a time and even that seemed long... Hopefully these next 8 weeks go by quickly for you and your 28 week ultrasound shows that the placenta has relocated on its own!
RE "feeling" pregnant - I have been surprised at how often I "forget" I'm pregnant. There have been several times I look down at my belly and momentarily think, "Wow, I must have eaten a LOT today," only to remember I'm pregnant and that's a baby bump! I've been waiting for it to really set in - After first tri is over? Once I start feeling movement? When we can see baby on a/s? - So far, nope! Haha
@blondie080300- welcome back! Hopefully the 8 week countdown will go quickly and give you a finish line along the way to look forward to, that always seems to help make thing move along. Also.. I could handle the no sex, but the no orgasm rule would throw me!
@Jabreenummm yeah, I'm still not interested in another FB group. I only use the really small private group from my last BMB which only has about a dozen of us actively posting in it. The big FB group was way too sunshine, unicorns and rainbows for me - I think once your full name, picture, actual information is tied to what you post it gets too fake for me. I'm also in a Maine Toddler Tribe facebook group that I spend all day rolling my eyes at. I'm good and comfy here until we get really close and/or until babies actually come - then I find logging onto The Bump cumbersome as I'll be on my phone for most of it and mobile bumping is not ideal
@Jabreen I saw that, too - her only three discussions are attempts at getting Aug, Sept and Oct "Mummies" to join the FB group. I did actually LOL at the responding gifs/images on the Aug and Oct boards (and ours as well) so I guess we can at least thank her for that - a little giggle in the morning!
@PSUBecky23Have not seen it but must now watch the trailer!
In related news - took my mom to see 'Mother's Day' last night for an early MD gift. Ladies - it was awesome! It was so funny and we both loved it. I highly recommend if you're looking for a funny, feel-good movie and something that's chick-flick/mom approved.
Re Feeling Pregnant: I think this all the time, like wow I'm pregnant, this is crazy. It's like wow there is a baby in there, like a teeny tiny moving and a groven human being that is only half a foot long but can still move and kick, crazy. I don't forget I'm pregnant, I thought I would all the time but nope it's kinda too much sometimes how it occupies the majority of my thoughts.
@jhems776 That's how I was when I was pregnant with DD. She and the pregnancy consumed my thoughts constantly! Which is why it's so strange this time around to actually be forgetting here and there! The difference between first and second children, perhaps? (Although that makes me feel a little guilty... )
Today is primary day for my state (Indiana). I am so apathetic about this election - I just can't find it in myself to support any of the presidential candidates. We also have some local seats up for election. I read through the 'Election Edition' of our paper to hopefully learn about the candidates and there was hardly any information - just a paragraph or 2 about each candidate that was mostly biographical and not focused on the issues. Now I have until 6 pm to figure out who to vote for (if I vote at all....)
Like @jhems776 I am constantly thinking about how I'm pregnant. Even so, I can't really connect that there's a person growing inside of me. This person that I've been wanting FOREVER. I just thought it would feel emotionally different.
If you're having a hard time connecting that this little bean growing inside you is going to be a baby.. I strongly suggest talking to him/her. Last time around I loved placing my hands on my belly and just talking.. about my day, about my dreams for him, about how much we wanted him and loved him already. Once we had the nursery set up, I'd sit in the glider and read some of the books out loud that we had already received for him - a lot of the time my dog would sit on my lap so I felt a little less crazy.
I swear there are songs/stories that Emmett immediately recognized/was soothed by that we had used a lot during the pregnancy. Very cool stuff
Edited to add: Should it make me feel less crazy that I was reading out loud to a dog instead of a fetus? I think my logic is a little fuzzy here..
I just bawled my entire way to work after '7 Years' by Lukas Graham played on the radio. Yeah, I'm not emotional at all. Eeek.

Because we love giving personal information to strangers?
@mamadomino I totally forgot about that part. I do love sharing intimate details with people I don't know. Do you think she also needs my banking information so she can transfer her massive fortune out of her war-torn home country? Maybe she'll even gift me 10% for the service!
I don't feel a "bond" with my LO yet, I guess I figured one day it would just click. We have done a few things "with" baby, H has read a book a couple times and some smaller talking to/at. When I talk to LO I am more or less just saying my inner thoughts out loud, and since now they are towards baby I'm not talking to myself lol. I will start doing more.
I haven't had time to think about this pregnancy. Between my crazy job and my crazy three year old, I can't say that I forget I'm pregnant but it's definitely a little bit of an afterthought.
is it ever too late to join the randoms thread? I tried catching up on April and couldn't so I'll try and keep up this month!
I was doing the dishes this morning and my 3yo came over and handed me my coffee cup. It was empty. Shame on me for leaving it at arms length. She is currently ballroom dancing with her life size Elsa doll to Ed sheerans video Thinking out Loud
@AnnaS930 - That's a great point. I loved sitting down and talking to my belly when I was pregnant with DS and DD. While they're certainly hearing me talk this time around, these two are also getting lots of love from their big brother and sister who are enjoying telling the babies stories and reading them books. Oh, and giving my belly lots of kisses. DD's favorite thing to tell the babies is that she will "take care of them for the rest of her life".
Eh, you could do a lot worse than reading to your dog. For example, our dog Snickers has no hair on his back and ears (somehow it all ended up on his belly). During the winter when we lived in MN, I would swaddle him in a blanket when he came back in from outside so he wouldn't get cold. Crazy? Maybe.
I have been pretty MIA this last week, Hubby and I went on a babymoon/ first anniversary trip to Disney. I got to be away from work for 6 days (YAY!) but OF COURSE I woke up on my day back with a really really really sore throat. UGH! I seriously don't have time to be sick.
On a happy a note we took this pic this weekend and announced on facebook we are having a girl!
Does anyone know anything about the Lillebaby complete carrier? I think I am going to switch my ergo baby 360 to the lillebaby. LOVE that the lillebaby has a zipper vent to it when it gets hot and baby can sit forward-facing like the ergo 360. Haven't heard of anyone actually using it yet tho.
i also don't feel as connected to this baby yet as I did with my previous pregnancies. I think it has something to do with having two wild kiddos that keep me on my feet all day that I forget to acknowledge my growing peanut. My favorite time is at night when I'm finally relaxed and I get to feel her moving all around and my DH just keeps his hand there. I hope we can agree on a name soon so I can start calling her by it

I've heard nothing but good things about it in the babywearing groups I'm in. But I'm also an Ergo diehard.
@Cricket BugA bunch of my coworkers are in Nashville this week for a conference. Last week, we were talking about their trip and that they planned to see Darius Rucker while they were down there and we got on the "Hootie turned country" topic. Then, I brought up his (country) song "Won't Be Like This For Long" which none of my coworkers had heard. I tried explaining it to them and couldn't even get my first sentence out before I had to choke back a sob! And this is a group of all guys, fairly young - all unmarried, without children. So, yeah, the lone woman, pregnant at that, nearly blabbering about some country song? Not weird at all...
Anyway, that's a long story to tell you in short: Songs. They'll tug at your pregnant heartstrings, for sure!
