Our first peek at our little bean Baby was very cooperative, danced around and even waved at us. What an amazing experience! Feels very real now ! EDD 11/16
@Knottie1458416769 We did. Before we used it we discussed the risk of not being able to hear anything, and not taking any meaning from it. After watching a million YouTube videos on how to use it after we received it on Wednesday, we heard the heartbeat (already 3 times). It was so worth the buy. Now I feel much better knowing our baby's heart is still beating away. It's a long wait between each ultrasound
If if you do buy one, just be careful not to freak yourself out. It's easy to lose the heartbeat, and hard to decipher yours for the baby's.

@rachelcrowther@ZoeFer@whaat A friend told me that for her ultrasound, they told her to bring a very cold drink. Apparently that can also get them moving around. They had her up, walking around, and drinking ice water, and baby finally cooperated. So, hit a local 7-11 for a Slurpee beforehand, and you can get the sweet and icy cold tricks in one shot, haha! I'm doing my glucose test right before, so I'll be sure to drink that nasty orange stuff very cold.

U/s #2 I measured 6days ahead and very first one I measure a week behind a little confused but and those portable u/s machine have poor quality. But hb 166 bmp. I feel alot more at ease.
11w 4d and a 4D photo too! Baby had hiccups and was practically standing up today. So cute. Heard heartbeat for the first time (160). It was so fun! We paid for a private scan. This baby has some long legs!
Finally! After knowing that I was pregnant from 2+6 days LMP I got to see my baby. It measured 9 days bigger than I thought at 12+5 and moved all around the place. HB 157
We can't believe how the little bean is growing!! This is around 10.5wks. I have hyperemesis (wouldn't wish it on my WORST enemy) so we've been in every 2 weeks. This momma LOVES ultrasound days!
From last Thursday, 9w1d, measuring right on target. The technician was super quick about it which was a bit frustrating, but it was enough to see all the arm movement and strong heartbeat and make this all more real.
Anyone else think it's weird when they feel the need to give you pics that say "baby" on them? Despite how it looks, I doubt I'll come across the pic in a few months and think it's a picture of a peanut or lima bean!
Aaah! I'm late to the party. Here's our little buddy at 7weeks 5 days but I'm going to be 10 weeks tomorrow. Can't wait to see how much it's grown at our next appointment in 2 weeks! I love everyone's 10-12 week ultrasounds--you can see so much more! @lajoliedreamer, it does seem a little silly (I don't know how common that is and DH and I weren't expecting it either) but we I laughed when the ultrasound technician wrote "BABY" because that's the nickname we've given it to avoid giving it a nickname. :P
YAY YAY YAY YAY! It's finally my turn! I feel like I was one of the first ones to join this BMB (EDD 11/5) and the last one to get to post my u/s. I'm measuring a few days ahead at 5w6d, but we're keeping my EDD at 11/5 for now. My bladder was actually TOO full, so I had to partially empty it, and it was still borderline too full, but we were able to see our little one dancing around in there after some rolling around and poking. DH was like "I guess you weren't just faking it to get out of scooping the litter box." Haha, thanks, Dear. ANYWAY, here's my little plum!
ETA: We just decided he or she looks like Tweety Bird in this picture, so that's our new nickname.
So relieved to see a strong heartbeat and bubs moving around!
DH has a friggin enormous cranium and has been teasing me since I got KU that the baby would have an enormous head. His first comment on this pic was "see- has my head"
Only bummer was my SCH tripled in size in the last 2 weeks
Ended up with a bonus photo today! I'm 10 weeks on the dot. Strong heartbeat (got to hear it for the first time today)! Back is to us, head is on the left, and dark circle on the right is the rest of the yolk sack until the placenta finishes taking over. I went in due to severe sudden cramping. Thankfully no bleeding but it felt like I was going to start gushing at any second. The pain started to subside by the time I could call and make an appointment but I figured, at that point, I might as well go in anyways. They guessed it was either a charlie-horse muscle spasm, like round ligament pain and/or I was a little dehydrated. So keep chugging that water ladies!
Soo... At my ultrasound yesterday, the tech was pushing down reeeeally hard with the wand (which was extra uncomfortable with a very full bladder) and it was pretty highly uncomfortable, and honestly took a lot of the enjoyment out of the experience for me because I just wanted him to stop. This morning, I woke up, and it feels like I have a giant bruise over my pelvic area. There's no visible bruise, but it's sore to the touch. Has this happened to anyone else???

Scan today (3rd one!) measuring at 12+2 so edd pushed back two days again! Everything looking good, baby didn't wanna wake up and was then very reluctant to cooperate for the measurements haha!
Does anyone know if you're suppose to have a full bladder for an abdominal u/s? Or does it matter? I have one today and they didn't tell me to empty my bladder or come with a full one. I didn't even think to ask.

@ShallowSeas definitely full for an abdominal ultrasound. I go to two different US places, one has me pee an hour and a half before the appointment and then drink 1L of water in a half hour (finishing an hour before the appointment) then hold til after the appointment; the other place has me pee two hours before the appointment and hold it until after the appointment, no water requirement. Maybe call back and ask what their policy is...I'd hate to show up and be rescheduled because I didn't do it right!
13w0d.. Baby was jumping around (kind of like doing the worm but on its back) and rubbing its face with its left hand (which is that little white blur near the mouth). Very cool! This was the NT scan as part of the sequential screen. They said everything looks great so far! Everything is normal and baby is measuring right on track according to my LMP.
@comealongponds thanks for sharing the bladder information and good luck with your scan this week ! I will have my first abdominal scan tomorrow for NT scan and they did not give me any information on what i should do before the appointment. Also, i see that many of you ladies have the NT scan at around 13 weeks but they scheduled mine for 11w3d, I hope that it is not too early. i have read that early scanning might increase the false positive chance. @whaat the picture is so cute and congratulations on having great results !
@shallowseas - my notes on my appointment schedule sheet for the N/T (which is transabdominal) also has information about when to drink before, how much, and to not pee for an hour or something like it. I agree that you should probably call and they'll tell you what their preferred method is.

@ShallowSeas - every doctor and tech that I've come across has had a different opinion on that. I think they just all work differently, and find their own way the easiest. I would stick with what that office told you. With my first ultrasound this pregnancy, I changed doctors. When we were scheduling the first, they made sure to emphasize a full bladder. When we switched to the doctor I wanted, they said to empty it. I questioned it and the receptionist told me that the one doctor really liked empty, the other full. You can always bring a bottle of water just in case.
@shamrocandroll I am so sorry that was your experience. Did you bring it to their attention? I let my Dr. know when she moved it a particular way that caused me discomfort and she quickly made sure I was fine. I say don't be afraid to communicate if it is uncomfortable, it shouldn't take away from the joy of seeing baby. After mine I just had very mild bleeding the rest of the day and was back to normal the next day. So sorry.
@LadyBugMe101 I did, and he apologized, but said he needed to get a certain angle and was having a tough time getting it. Luckily it was worth it to see our baby for the first time, but it definitely hindered the enjoyment of the experience! The soreness is better today, fortunately.
Regarding the bladder issue, they told me to come with a full bladder, which I did, but it actually ended up being TOO full, and they had me partially empty it. They said too full is just as bad as too empty sometimes. I think for transvaginal, you need an empty bladder, though.

12 week ultrasound, measuring 12w3d. I had a full bladder but the sonographer told me half way through that there's no need to after 10 weeks, so we did the other half of the ultrasound empty (and much much more comfortably). So much fun to see him or her moving around, i struggled to stop laughing (impossible to ultrasound someone giggling) everytime he or she moved or we saw a different view, was just so happy, so amazing and incredible!
12 week u/s. HB was 158. He/She was sleeping during it but would move it's little arm up by it's head so it was hard to get a good profile picture. An hour after the u/s my doctor put a doppler on my belly and said the baby had woken up and was so active he couldn't stay on the heartbeat long enough for the doppler to read it. Hopefully we'll see Baby dance next u/s.
