Got our first ultrasound today at 10+5! She didn't tell us what our baby is measuring at but I'm assuming 8 weeks since babies usually are about two weeks behind when you go by the LMP for the due date.. Heart rate was 170bpm
When we talk about how a baby is measuring, we use the LMP date (or 2 weeks before ovulation). So if you're 10w5d according to your LMP, your baby is considered 10w5d, even if it was technically conceived 2 weeks in. Not sure if I'm making any sense or if that was even what you were wondering....
Yeah I know that! I was wondering haha I've just heard of people's babies measuring two weeks smaller since the date of conception is usually about two weeks later than the first date of the LMP.. She didn't say anything though so I guess I should just assume my due date is still the same? My baby just looks smaller than other people's that are the same week haha

Yea, I'd assume your due date stayed the same. Your OB should tell you if (s)he feels the need to update it.
As for the baby looking smaller, different machines display pictures of different quality. And also the type of ultrasound that was used plays a part (transvaginal vs transabdominal) since the baby is still really small at this point.
So for some reason I didn't notice this until today(u/s was 2 weeks ago), but this side view of baby looks odd to me. The shape of its head seems like it protrudes in the front and the back, and i haven't seen anyone elses looking that way. I'm fully aware that their heads are large at 9 weeks but, is this something I should be concerned about?
First of all I love seeing all of these little babes and congratulations to everyone! We have our first ultrasound tomorrow and I am so excited but super nervous as well. I'm terrified they aren't going to see a baby or a heartbeat. I feel like I was not this nervous with my ds but this second one has me very anxious. I can't wait to see him or her and just put my mind at ease. Looking forward to being able to post a picture tomorrow
Got mine yesterday! I thought I was 7+2 but according to the u/s I'm 8 weeks exactly... which means I would've O'd on CD9 so I'm not convinced. Better measuring ahead than behind though, I just hope it doesn't lead them to induce early. I forgot to ask the hr but it was definitely flickering away. H and I both cried. So relieved!
I had my NT u/s today. Baby was measuring two days ahead at 12+2 with a HB of 163. Everything turned out well with the NT scan and IPS bloodwork. We met with the nurse after the u/s and there were no concerns. I am so relieved and he/she actually looks like a baby now!
@grannysmith912 and @comealongponds I know! My last u/s was around 9w and it was amazing how much things have changed in 3 weeks. Baby was moving all around and had a hand up by its face almost the entire time! I can't wait to see what my 19w u/s will be like!
How are you all getting multiple ultrasounds? DF wasn't able to make it to our first one and my OB office won't schedule us for another one until 20 weeks. He's really upset he has to wait 3 months to hear a heartbeat and see the baby on screen. Should I keep asking for one or try to switch to a different office?
@little+tiny I had to do IVF so I see a RE and have had an ultrasound every week since 5 weeks. I don't think it's standard to have more than a couple of ultrasounds. I just graduated with him so I won't be getting weekly ultrasounds anymore. I do know my OB will listen to the heartbeat with a Doppler at appointments. I also think some people have had multiple ultrasounds because of an issue like a SCH or spotting/bleeding.
@Little+Tiny My office only does two the entire pregnancy (more, perhaps, if it's a high-risk pregnancy or there are other concerns), so it might just be an office issue. If that's super important to you, maybe consider changing OB's, but if you really like your OB, you might just have to wait it out. I've been searching week-by-week ultrasound pictures on Google Images since my last one, and though it obviously isn't the same, it at least gives me an idea of what I would be seeing if I did get one!
I'm so tempted to buy a home Doppler to play 'find-the-heartbeat' every week - especially since we graduated from a fertility specialist to the perinatologist and won't get weekly ultrasounds anymore. But I don't want to create more anxiety, so no home Doppler for us (if I can help myself).
My name is Lora I am from indiana. So I am new to the community got married march 12 found out we were pregnant march 18 we had stopped trying and it happened. Our due date November 22. Already have a 6 y/o daughter and a 8 y/o step daughter
@Little+Tiny Most of us who have had multiple ultrasounds have so many because we were on fertility treatments with an RE. Its pretty standard to only have a couple throughout the pregnancy and most insurances only cover 2 or so.

@little+tiny was it big? They found a tiny one on mine and my OB, the tech and my RE all told me it was nothing to worry about because it was so small. The tech told me a lot of times they don't even mention it if it's small because a lot of people get them. If you're concerned about it though I would ask your doctor for another one to check on it. I think REs are more accommodating because they're in the world of infertility so when I wanted one last ultrasound he said absolutely. I'm not sure all OBs would've agreed to it though.
@whitneyf1 the ultrasound tech didn't even really talk about it. She told me to lay off of sex and orgasms until I'm 12 weeks and then she moved on. I didn't even know what it was until I went home and googled it.
@little+tiny I would reach out to your doctor and see what he says. Tell him you're concerned and ask for an ultrasound to see an update on the SCH. Hopefully he'll do it!
We only get 2 ultrasounds but are going to a private ultrasound clinic for more it's only $29 and totally worth it to be able to see bun whenever I want!

I can't seem to find any private u/s places around me. I've searched all google and nothing.
Another ultrasound for us! Measuring slightly behind at 9w1d but not concerned at all. We get to graduate from our RE to my normal OB which is an exciting step forward!
Had 12 week NT scan this morning! Baby wouldn't cooperate and kept sticking bum up instead of face (they need to measure head, nose, neck, etc.). The tech was great but had me jumping up and down, flipping on my stomach, bending over, dancing, all sorts of things to get the bean to move around. Finally we got about 2 seconds in the right position, saw little one sucking thumb!! Anyway, the one piece of advice she gave me that may help some of you out is to eat something sweet before the NT scan -- orange juice or anything to get the blood sugar up and have baby moving around instead of snuggled in, comfy and in the wrong position for the scan. It should be a 15 min scan but it took almost a full hour to get the right position.
@rachelcrowther dancing and jumping in the clinic sounds very funny ! I am glad that you were able to have the measurement at the end. Thanks for the advice, I will have my NT scan next Thursday, i am very excited.

I have mine on Wednesday and it makes me feel better that if baby is in the wrong position, I might be able to fix it instead of just being out of luck (as my doc implied)
