I want my baby to be a dinosaur for Halloween! I have always wanted him to be a dinosaur as a baby. I have no idea why lol. I have a dinosaur costume for my dog as well so they can be dino twins.
Party prep for Landry's 2nd birthday party has officially begun! Please excuse the tears... It's so hard to believe that it's been a year singe turned 1.
I've been stuck on this project for a little while now, been doing any other work while going back to it and banging my head against the wall. I could get the code to run but the results didn't make sense to me, finally broke down and asked my boss for help. It was SO simple but it took me so long to understand what he was explaining, I felt like an idiot, but at least he wasn't made and blamed it on pregnancy brain. I'm glad I asked because I don't know if I would have figured it out any time soon. Feeling dumb but moving forward...
@mom2adoodle, that is the toe that I injured...the one next to the pinky on my right foot. It's kind of a worthless toe, so I can still walk okay. It just hurts!
@camichael84@Megan324I'm with you! I cannot wait to take my LO to the pumpkin patch this year. I will have to make myself wait until October to do it otherwise I would totally be there the first week it opened. I'm seriously also doing the cider mill and ooo don't even get my started on Trick-or-treating! I may have to restrain myself or this baby will have a costume for daddy's work, mommy's work, Dad's parents, mom's parents, and of course one for Halloween. They are really just too cute in the little costumes!
Come Christmas - all bets are off. It's going to be 12 days of the cutest Christmas outfits ever. Poor DH he will have no say about the cuteness of the outfits for Christmas.
Honestly, I had trouble finding Halloween costumes to fit DD her first Halloween (she was 6.5 weeks old... born 9/14). I'm sure if you look on Etsy or make one, you'll be fine, but retailers don't carry them in 0-3 months. McKenna had several Halloween outfits for the whole month, but wore this the day of Halloween.
I'm so excited to have this LO just before the holiday season. I know my family will go nuts over a tiny, squishy baby when they visit! We won't go out trick or treating for Halloween but I'll be passing out candy so I want to dress her up somehow. I saw a costume on Pinterest of dressing up as a web and wearing baby with a fuzzy spider costume covering the carrier, might do something like that. Or maybe have DH dress up and dress baby up in something similar, as long as it's simple and comfy.
About the holiday season - my first was a November baby. He was about 1 1/2 months for his first Christmas. I assumed that at family Christmas my aunts and cousins would get a chance to hold him. He was ok for Christmas breakfast where the crowd was smaller (my parents, brothers & their families - 8 people beyond DH and I), but for dinner when all the aunts, uncles, and cousins showed up (30ish people), DS freaked out and got pretty clingy. I spent most of the evening wearing him since that is the only thing that kept him calm.
FTM question here: is it normal to feel crampy when baby is kicking? I have an anterior placenta and have felt her mostly on the lower abdomen today but I've felt crampy when she's kicked me a few times.
@AlwaysAuntNeverMomIt's hard to say for sure since I'm not feeling exactly what you're feeling but I'd hesitantly say, yes, it's normal to feel a little crampy as baby moves around. I know there are times I have a hard time distinguishing between braxton hicks contractions and baby moving (sometimes they completely switch positions and sit sort of "lop-sided" in your belly which causes contraction-like pressure). This happened a lot with DD, especially as my pregnancy progressed and has already started happening this time as well. Not sure if that is at all similar to what you're experiencing but thought I'd throw it out there as reference!
@JennM205 I think that is it, yeah. I've been getting crampy off and on (mild, non painful cramps) for some weeks and the doc said those are BH. But I'd never had them get worse while she was moving.
@fireflygirl12 and @Themaritimemama -- I was a lurker in a14! That glyncoco drama kept me amused (and glad I wasn't in the thick of it) for a long while.
Ugh, I'm spotting. I don't think I've ever felt my heart drop so quickly in an instant before. I was on my way to work out, stopped to pee since working out always puts pressure on my bladder and surprise, surprise there was a pinkish tinge to the toilet paper and two small tissue-y somethings. I know from reading these boards that this can be totally normal so I'm trying not to freak out. But obviously easier said than done - especially when I've been through a previous pregnancy with no spotting or similar situations. Obviously I'm foregoing the workout for tonight (and taking it easy for the next few days). Should I call my OB? If so, wait until the morning, right? (Unless it gets worse, of course.)
Shoot, @JennM205 I'm sorry you're dealing with this! I hope that's the last you see of it. I imagine it would be fine to wait to call your ob, but I'm also a firm believer in calling whenever if it will make you feel better. Keep us updated!
@JennM205 I'm sorry about the scare! Hopefully it will stop right away. This is just me, but I would page my OB if I were spotting. All doctors are different but mine asks that I page him if I have either spotting (no matter the color) or severe cramping. Up to you, really. If you feel that you can wait until morning, then do. Keep us updated.
@JennM205 I would call your OB to be safe. Sending positive vibes your way!
@fireflygirl12 it's not a popular Facebook group anymore. Super lame now haha. @Sporty1216 glynncoco was definitely keeping things interesting. I half expected this board to be the same, but it's definitely more chill here!

I haven't been on here for a few days and did not read all the old posts in this thread. But I noticed somebody mentioned Halloween. This is my first dressed up as a mummy for her 1st Halloween. She was born in July. It was fun. Can't remember how to make it smaller. Sorry.
sorry I've been so MIA lately!! I've missed you ladies. Work has been freaking crazy - I cannot wait til summer.
you all have me pumped about having a sept baby. At first I was kinda bummed since I'll have limited nice weather with the babe (DS was born in June so I had the whole summer), but now I am super excited to have a little pumpkin this fall!
Any ladies deal with eczema? I use a topical corticosteroid for some spots on my hands that are super obnoxious. It's a class C med so I'm not willing to risk it while pregnant. Any other meds/lotions anyone can recommend?
Thanks for the good vibes and advice, everyone. So far no more spotting but I'm keeping an eye on things just in case. I had a very active day yesterday - over 13,300 Fitbit steps when I usually average around the 8-9000 range. Plus we had to hustle on our walk home from the park - uphill - because it was raining. Thinking maybe I just overdid it and need to take it easy for a couple days. I will definitely call my OB in the morning...sooner if I notice any more spotting.
@PSUBecky23 -- my DH's dermatologist recommended cerave. It's pretty great. Not sure it it will do the trick for you, but maybe worth a try. If you have Amazon, it is way cheaper there than in the store.
@fireflygirl12 I know this was like 10 pages ago but I can't keep up and I just wanted to say that I would NOT paint. Aqua totally works for a girl. I might replace your bins with a "girlier" color. Coral, purple, or yellow would all work. Same for if you decide to put up new letters with baby girl's name. Maybe a matching throw or pillow on the glider. That and sheets would go a long way towards making it look feminine.
Good call on changing out the bins @kimmyschmidt. I figured I would do a girly name color for sure. I think I'll take the advice and try to work with the aqua first. I could always paint later if I don't like it, and I currently LOVE that aqua with the grey.
@PSUBecky23 , even though steroid creams are category C there really isn't a risk associated with light or moderate use during pregnancy. Hydrocortisone, for example, is category C, but the risk is present when used systemically (ie oral tablet) but not for the cream. You would want to stick with a lower potency cream like OTC hydrocortisone, but it is safe. If you want to read more: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0014418/
if you still feel uncomfortable with using steroid cream, I don't have a specific cream recommendation. You can try using a moisturizing ointment like Eucerin or Aquaphor as opposed to a lotion or cream, and try to make sure you are using mild hand soaps with warm water when washing (avoid super hot water). If you are hand washing dishes try using gloves if you can. It may also be helpful to remove any rings or jewelry for hand washing/showering/sleeping if you don't already. Hope this helps.
Re: April Randoms Thread
I had a dino baby!

DS1 is a September baby and I loved it. Weather had been good for outside bday parties too!
Hugs @jennm205. Growing humans is so stressful.
@kimmyschmidt I JUST started watching your show and it's amazing. Tina Fey is genius
@LeahKnits Your LO is the most adorable mummy I've ever seen.
