@abberson@PSUBecky23 we've had my little guy in lessons for about a year now. He'll be three May 28. It took a solid six months for him to love it...but now he does! These are the lessons without me.
I called them "screaming lessons" for quite a while. I think it has paid off, though! Hang in there Mamas!
So I just got my Bellaband in the mail today. I can't believe I didn't order this sooner or in one of my other pregnancies. I love it! Whether pregnant or not, I always have a "B" belly. It drives me nuts. No matter how much weight I lose (when not pregnant), there is always this weird upper area of fat in my abdomen. This totally smooths me out and makes me look like a "D" belly. My Saturday has been made!! And I kind of want to use it when not pregnant...lol!
PS I had no idea about "B" and "D" bellies until my last pregnancy. Someone mentioned it on my last BMB and I was like "aha"!
@mom2adoodle thank you!! we got him at 12 weeks old after thanksgiving. he's now 90% housebroken and by the time LO arrives, should be quite well trained. love our fur babies too!
I guess it's not a baby brother doll technically. It's all plush and in a blue shirt/hat and a little white diaper. Made by North American Bear Company. So far he shakes his head no at it and continues to feed his diapered monkey stuffed animal with a bottle. Oy.
8pm, parents visited and left, husband working until 11, toddler singing himself to sleep. I'm resisting the urge to snack (already had some chips with lunch) and settling onto the couch for a night of crappy tlc reality shows! This is the life.
The overwhelming sentiment in this group re drinking while pregnant is it's only nine months, it's not that hard. Come have the day I had alone with my three year old and say that. (FTR, I agree. I just had a crappy day and she's still fighting sleep so it's not even over.)
@PSUBecky23 - Ugh. Sorry it's been a rough day. I hate it when you think "It's finally bedtime, the madness can end!" And then it just doesn't. Hopefully she tires herself out.
I swore up and down that u wouldn't buy any more maternity clothes from Motherhood Maternity since they're so expensive. I gave in today. They had a BOGO 50% off Sale plus I was able to use a $20 off coupon and a 20% off one item coupon. I've been living in my maternity jeans but I have a feeling that I'll now be living in my maternity leggings. The full length ones and the capris ones. I don't even care that the capris will show off my current cankles. I dare someone to judge me.
Finally bought my first maternity pants and I don't know why I haven't been wearing them my whole life! I'm stopping tomorrow before work and buying more
So bummed right now. We've been looking at houses, and went to look at one today that seemed so great in the listing. I knew it wasn't going to be perfect but I did expect to love it as a "work in progress". And I think that could have happened, but apparently it REEKED of smoke-- I say apparently because I was at work so DH had to go look without me. I'm glad i wasn't there now though, DH said it was nauseating how strong the smell was. I feel like that's a deal breaker-- I'm not sure we could ever totally get rid of that smell in a house that's been smoked in for years and years. Boooooo to house hunting.

I have never heard of B and D bellies before but this makes complete sense!!! I have a B belly when not pregnant, my bump seems to round out once I get to a certain point but I've always had a B shape to my tummy even at my smallest!

Any other dog moms ever have their pup get ticks? This is our first time with her getting anything, we have been very lucky. Well, we are off at the beach on a nice hike, we come back to our hotel and what do I see? TICKS!! We must have pulled at least 15 off of her. She is a labradoodle so her fur is not the easiest to navigate through. We spent hours checking her, came home early to give her a dose of nexgard, and now I'm on a washing/cleaning streak. I sent DH to get the car washed, I'm sweeping/mopping/vacuuming even though she's been in the house for one hour. I'm freaked!!! I didn't see any engorged in her so that's positive, but it's not like I even know what I'm looking for. UGH I am so happy baby isn't here yet because I'm already concerned for myself and DH. I can't even imagine being afraid of a tick biting my baby.
@mom2adoodle Check between the paws. I few years ago my EX-mil babysat my dog for the weekend and did not tell us she had a tick infestation. He came home with over 40 on him (mostly very tiny non-engorged ones) and he is a 17 lb jack Russell.
Me: 32 DH: 31
TTC #2 since January 2018
Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
@mom2adoodle living in maine we pull ticks off of dogs after every walk (luckily my little 12 pounder walks mainly on roads so we have found very few). Deer ticks are the ones that carry Lyme if that's your fear, you can Google the difference. If not engorged you should be ok, check yourselves to be sure but I wouldn't panic... though they really gross me out!
I ran 3 miles with e in the jogging stroller today, we took a 5 minute break halfway so e could check out the doggies at the dog park (and because I was clinging to life). Holy smokes, I haven't felt so out of shape in a long time, but we survived! Now I stink, waiting for e to go to bed and showering at 730, hubby home at 830, GoT at 9, and we got some gelato for the show (they had an amazing salty chocolate covered matzo flavor for passover, my husband is going to die!!!)
@runningisrad I'm still hopeful that I'll round out this pregnancy. My first two I never did. It looked normal when I was dressed, but I always hated that it wasn't a perfect bump underneath. Each pregnancy I've weighed less, but like you, I have always had this even when not pregnant. It's like that one area you can work on and work on but it never fully goes away. There are worse things, I know, but this little area drives me nuts!
We started pricing baby furniture today...holy smokes that stuff is expensive! We also had trouble finding any crib that doesn't convert into four different beds. I just don't feel the need to buy my unborn child an heirloom quality bed. Long story short: it looks like we'll be going to IKEA for the furniture!
@mom2adoodle my dog is Lyme positive. We have no idea when it even happened because we don't take him anywhere except for walks in the neighborhood. He was put on antibiotics for six weeks and the vet just advised to look out for lethargy and joint problems. He's been fine otherwise.
@mom2adoodle I have pulled quite a few off my girl this year. Just be sure to keep up on flea and tick preventative, if you're in the north it's going to be bad this year because of the mild winter.
@cassloumy we bought my daughters whole room from Ikea 2 years ago. Spent less than $500 (how much some cribs cost) and got a crib, dresser, storage cubby shelves, poang chair, and book shelves for the wall. I never felt guilty about blowing a ton of money on it and it has held up great to 17 months of use so far. We plan on doing the exact same for this babe. No regrets haha I felt the same when I was looking at nursery furniture before. I can't spend 300 on a crib, 300 on a dresser, 300 on a glider... That sh*t adds up quick!
@mom2adoodle My cockapoo gets them occasionally- I usually try to check him super thoroughly before I let him in the car, and again when I get home. We put front line on him and I haven't seen any on him since. They skeev me so bad too- ick!
@mom2adoodle my app likes to kick me out for a long time... I can see the posts, but can't like, comment or anything on posts. It's really frustrating, and this is the third time it has happened. Stupid. Glad to be back though!
I'm super stoked that we're getting an IKEA here.. I can never justify the shipping cost, but now I won't have to
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
My pup also tested positive for Lymes years ago and has been doing fine since. I also heard what @Thscary said, because it was such a mild winter, ticks, mosquitoes and other bugs are going to be insane this summer. Good times.
I hope someone can help with this, I'm looking for a facebook group or page I can go to for advice and other random questions. I love the bump app but I don't use it daily. I was recently added to Teo groups by a friend and the groups are basically mothers bashing other mothers for having c-sections, not breastfeeding, circumcision, and even for vaccinating their child. Needless to say this is not what I'm looking for... any ideas or groups that come to mind?
Last week, a couple ladies asked me to post a recipe for the Cranberry Almond Energy Bites I made -- I can't remember exactly who it was or what post it was in, so I'll just post it here! Finally made them again and measured everything, so now I know exactly what I put in them
1 C old fashioned oats 1/3 C coarsely ground almonds (I pulsed mine in my Vitamix about 6-10 times) 1/2 C Crunchy salted peanut butter 2T real maple syrup 1/3 C dried cranberries 1/2 tsp almond extract
Just mix all of the ingredients together (no cooking needed!), and form them by hand firmly into 1" balls. Just make sure you pack them tightly so that everything sticks and they don't crumble. Store them in the fridge or freezer -- this will make about 16-18 balls. I take 2-3 with me every day and have them as a mid morning snack or pre-workout snack and because they are pretty calorie dense, just 2 will do the trick usually!
@mom2adoodle yes, our dog actually caught Lyme disease. It was terrible! She wouldn't eat or walk or drink! Fortunately we figured it out and after some antibiotics she was fine.
My husband found a tick on my exactly one time and I had a genuine panick attack- the only I've ever had in my life.
Spiders, bugs, whatever generally do not bother me but I'm legit terrified of ticks. I know too many people who caught Lyme and struggle with it for the rest of their lives.
My random... We made it over 19 months before we had a poop in the tub incident. Our bathtub is now probably the cleanest it's been since I was nesting during my first pregnancy.
Otherwise it was a great weekend. Day at the zoo, trip to BRU to getting baby's bedding, and cook out with my family. DH was finishing homework last night, so we will be watching GoT tonight.
@camichael84- it was a good episode, you'll enjoy! Also, we are at 17.5 months without a poop in the tub.. going strong! I remember when my sister's son pooped in the tub while he and his twin were in there. It was hilarious as it turned into a rescue mission to get Harper out ASAP. Oh children, the things you do!
@themaritimemama YAS! My a/s is Wednesday and I felt the baby from the outside last night- little stinker was doing the usual fluttering and then WHAM! Actual kicks- just a few- but it was awesome! Unfortunately DH didn't feel them yet- by the time he came over and tried I think baby was like "alright enough of that" lol! Let us know how you make out!
@cbw930 I'm in a Facebook group now that I really enjoy- all September 2016 mamas-to-be. If you are interested, send me a private message with your email address and I can ask to add you to the group there I've been dying for the Facebook group for this group, but I can totally understand why people want to wait a while longer.
@blondie080300 YAY! I was also thinking about you since I hadn't seen you on here all week. Hope all is well

Is anyone else with me that we need some weekend weekly threads? I know we do the weekend wins sometimes, but I think that's only for Sunday?
