Happy Monday to me! Got into work, immediately spilled coffee INTO my purse and then spent 20 minutes on the phone with IT just to get signed onto my computer. Hope everyone else is having a better day.
@AnnaS930 - also just getting back from a business trip where unfortunately bumping was not possible, so finally catching up and so excited for you and your growing family! Congrats on the boy! So exciting!
@camichael84- You've maybe told us before, what did you go with for baby bedding?? We painted the nursery a medium gray for the walls and I've decided to do a truck/construction theme for baby (I'm not big into heavy themes). So I just found some cute fabrics to make window shams/a crib skirt/and some throw pillows for the glider. I might do a wall decal or two, and just accent the rest of the room in navy blue and orange! I'm so freaking excited!!!
The return of GoT has resulted in my fiancé and I meowing our way through the opening song. I've missed the goofiness of it while being between seasons.
For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about:
Thanks everyone on the extended congrats! I really appreciate all of them! I keep picturing this little Cooper man growing in my belly and can't wait for him to arrive! I gave Emmett a little boy plush doll this weekend, he furrowed his brow and shook his head. Hahahaha, get used to it kid! He's cominggggg!
Ooo also congrats to @MojieJoon finding out definitely that you're twins are team blue! That's so exciting! My cousin had twin boys a year and a half ago - they are the cutest together and easily the best of friends. Be ready for some wrestling matches though. Even at 1.5 yrs old, they can put each other in a head lock and do the best interpretation of WWE (of course having never watched it either).
I think I finally caught up on everything! I had to take last Thursday and Friday off work and I only bump away from work occasionally. I did log in over the weekend at one point to read some threads, but I never posted.
I was off work Thursday and Friday because DS was sick. He had a fever and no other symptoms. At one point his fever got scary high - above 105! He is doing better now, but gave us a scare yesterday. We were playing and he suddenly started crying and was completely inconsolable. The crying lasted more than a half hour and DH and I had no idea what to do. He was grabbing at his ear a lot, which isn't something he normally does. I thought maybe a bug went into his ear, DH thought that it was a rapid onset ear infection. Either way, we decided to take him to urgent care. Well he fell asleep on the way there so we decided to just keep driving around and let him rest. We ran some errands and after a while he woke up happy and normal.
I'm 19.5 weeks and we finally did something baby related this weekend!!! We took down the nasty floral wallpaper in the baby's room. Well 3/4 of it anyway, there's some seriously tricky spots. Upside? There was yellow paint behind it and DH was all 'I really like the yellow paint, can we switch the room to be yellow?' It looked good and this is his first step at making any 'baby related' decisions so I jumped on it and said sure! We'll finish getting the wall paper off this week and then find our yellow color this weekend!!!!
@marajay6- Ugh, those moments! We have been there - luckily not for a half hour but even 5-10 minutes feels like an eternity when a mood changes that extremely. I'm glad he was able to get some sleep and didn't have to be around the sick people of the ER! Hopefully an isolated occurrence... toddlers are so hard to understand sometimes!
My gas pains have been insane this weekend! I've been taking meta to try and push everything out and it has helped but the pain is horrid. So I've been all gassy and sore all weekend.
To top it all off, I started getting menstrual-like cramps a couple weeks ago that my doctor said are Braxton Hicks and those make me anxious. They're not really painful, just noticeable and every time I get them I worry something is wrong. Ugh.
aww @AlwaysAuntNeverMom I'm sorry! I had some wicked gas pains this weekend too, and hardly turned into much actual gas.. considered taking Gas-X but they came and went so quickly that I never went upstairs to search for it. Have you tried it? Really helps make the bubbles smaller so they're easier to pass! I also get crampy from time to time, and if I can I relax, get my feet up and sip on water until they pass. Good luck!!

For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about:
Just a quick update, I took it easy this weekend & haven't had any spotting since Friday. Baby's been wiggling and thumping like crazy all weekend, so I'm thinking it's just one of those weird things that can happen. My pregnancy with my daughter was so uneventful, and this one has been so different! Ack!

@runningisradglad you're doing well and had a good weekend.
Side note: I'm not sure if it's the graphic or my computer, but everytime your signature pays and the woman gets sprayed in the face, for a split second it looks like the water blew her face off! It's a funny gif, but even now when I see it, I have to do a double take to see exactly what I'm looking at, lol.
@AnnaS930 I've never tried it. I was getting this pain in the first tri a lot and it would go away (and the gas would pass) after a dose of metamucil but this time it's lingered for three days. I might just get some to see if it helps more. I keep fogging DH with my funky scents I need to stay away from pizza!
@AnnaS930 I hadn't decided until yesterday what I wanted for the nursery. DH and I spent probably a good 40 minutes trying to decide between two different sets, but in the end went with this one. We only got the sheet, quilt, and dust ruffle as well as an extra yellow sheet. We will paint the walls grey and I'm going to accent with yellow. When we were at the zoo, I picked up a grey stuffed owl for the baby, and I'm hoping to decorate with woodland animals as well. I'm so excited and keep envisioning it coming out so pretty!
In other news I started looking at room sharing ideas on Pinterest. Our kiddos are going to have to share once this baby starts sleeping through the night. But OMG, thinking about it made this even more real. I'm gonna have TWO KIDS. Ahhhhh!!!!

I can't bump on the weekends because we are always on the go and my mobile bump has stopped flagging new posts, so I have to scroll through all the pages to find where I left off and I definitely don't have that kind of patience these days!
@Sporty1216, happy a/s day! I'm sooo jealous. I have approximately 53.5 hours left until mine and I'm not sure that I'm going to make it!
@frogdog06, your puppy is adorable! We used to have a dog that would get so excited when we came home, she tinkled. I'd like to say that she outgrew it, but.... I'm sure you'll have better luck!
re: ticks. We have empty acres around our house and the grass gets tall, so my dog always has about 5 or 6 per summer. Last summer, I woke up in the middle of the night because I could feel something crawling on my stomach....It was a tick! The dog sleeps in our bed sometimes and I think it jumped off of her and got on me. Yuck!
Hope everyone has a good week. I used up all of my willpower and energy just making myself come to work today, so I'm not looking for a lot of productivity.
Edited to add: @camichael84, I love the bedding! So cute!
I got to my a/s appointment only to find that I wasn't on the schedule! My DH took the day off for this and the gal who does the scheduling remembers scheduling me. Fortunately, they got me in at 11. But I was so ready to be done!
Just starting to catch up on here. All is doing fine over here, still have bit of anxiety but no other issues. I'm at work and really don't feel like it. My brain is not cooperating today and I have no idea why my code isn't giving me what I want. I'm already a bit behind but at least my boss is very understanding. I really haven't missed drinking much but right now a couple classes of wine while relaxing outside would be heavenly....

Oh, no! That would have resulted in me crying at the desk. At least they can squeeze you in, though. Can you imagine if they had told you to come back in a week? Good luck at your 11:00 appointment. Can't wait to hear your news!
@Sporty1216- My fear is always that I won't be on the schedule - my OB texts me before appointments but things like ultrasounds don't give me any reminders. I hate when registration is searching through paperwork and I sit there fearing they can't take me in. Glad they squeezed you into the schedule and good luck!! Are you finding out the sex today? (I'm doing horribly at remembering who is/already has/is team green). Either way, I hope is all as you hope it will be!
@blondie080300 You can NOT just leave us hanging like that!?!?! Are you now team pink or blue!!!???? Congrats BTW!
Edited: Because I just saw your post on the Baby's Sex board - congrats on Team Blue! That's fantastic! Glad to hear all is well. Have you decided on a name?
Question for BTDT mom's -would it be crazy to skip a stroller for the young infant stage? I'm thinking about just investing in a carrier (like Tula or Ergobaby) and using that for outings until the babe has enough head control to sit in the regular toddler seat of the stroller instead of using the infant car seat carrier.
We registered for the Chicco Bravo system, but I'm not really in love with it and I've heard it's a bit tough to maneuver. I'd almost rather decide on the stroller after the baby is here so I can test it with a child inside.
@blondie080300 - I JUST WENT TO THE BABY SEX BOARD AND HOORAYYYYYYYY!!!! I knew we were pregnancy twins, congrats on baby boy!!! Woop woop! Woop woop!!!
@PoodleDoodleOoo- I would consider just getting a frame stroller in that case for the carseat. I think you might find some off-brand ones that are compatible for maybe $50 or so? I can't remember quite how much they run, but a much smaller investment until you really know what you want. I'm only a semi-baby wearer so I still used the frame stroller a good deal
@poodledoodleoo not crazy. Plenty of people do it. I liked the option of having both though. I enjoyed long walks with the stroller during my maternity leave but loved the carriers for running errands. Have you looked into a snap-n-go stroller? Inexpensive and you just stick the car seat in it.
@PoodleDoodleOoo, I don't think that is crazy, at all. I think whether or not you would use a stroller as an infant depends on your lifestyle and activities. If you can wear baby and you don't need a stroller, it's certainly less hassle. When I had my first, I wore him. When I had my second and was going to the park and whatnot with a baby and a 2.5 year old, the stroller was more convenient. I also found the infant carrier/stroller combo most useful when baby fell asleep in the car and I could just pop the carrier into the stroller and carry on without waking baby up. But I think if I was just having one this time, I'd probably do what you're contemplating and wait to get a stroller that does not have to be compatible with an infant carrier.
@blondie080300 I'm so glad you found out the sex! I know you were wavering, but I'm firmly in the find out asap camp (because I have no patience... haha). Congrats on your baby boy!
I used this stroller from Target, and actually we still use it from time to time.. It functioned as a frame stroller and held the carseat when E was tiny, and also works as a lightweight, basic stroller up to 40lbs. It doesn't have fantastic maneuverability, but folds up pretty small and Emmett is always comfortable in it. It was almost the same price as the frame strollers we looked at (I got it around $70 either on a sale or with my RedCard savings) and has lasted 16 months of constant use so far. Will use it again for the carseat for short distances while Emmett walks, or is pushed in one of his other million modes of transport (trike with handle, wagon, jogging stroller, etc etc) if my husband is with us. Then come next Spring I'll be looking further into the world of double jogging and walking strollers. woohoo!
Congratulations @blondie080300 !! Very exciting! So many little boys lately. @sporty1216 - So glad they could get you in today at least! Hope all goes well!
