Re: 3rd Tri/Labor Impending Symptoms **Updated**

  • KidShrink I feel you on the lack of balance - I almost fell down the stairs today.  However, I try to go super slow on the stairs because I am also wrangling 2 2yr olds who can't independently navigate the stairs yet.

I get so mad at myself for dropping stuff because then I have to bend over to pick it up.  Just don't drop it in the first place!!

  • Good luck @ayeshaohara ! Hope all goes well tomorrow!

They ended up releasing me after only about an hour of monitoring as both baby and I were fine and I didn't fall on my belly (like last week) or bum. The nurse made me promise to behave ;) So no baby for me again today, but we then went out to the restaurant for dinner, and I swear this little guy is engaging...I keep on feeling pressure and movement down low and can definitely feel something is there when touching. In the meantime, I'm off all kinds of duties at home (laundry!) because hubby doesn't want to see me going up and down the stairs with anything in my hands.

I just wanna complain to someone other that my fella for a minute.

Im super over puking everyday (hasn't stopped since I became pregnant) especially the 3 am puke sessions. Yup. Over it. I'm becoming annoyed with the small amount of symptoms I do have of labour without having the important ones! Been losing MP, having some mild lower back cramping (nothing rhythmic about it at all), lightning crotch so bad I can hardly walk!, heart burn so bad I'm wondering if I'm part dragon, but I have yet to have any contractions. Including Braxton hicks. I'm 38 weeks and 2 days. And as far as I can tell no contractions of any sort (with the exception of one day two weeks ago where I had tummy cramping on and off all day but it was so irratic that I doubt it was anything other than gas.)

im half tempted to go in to L&D and ask an NST just to see if I am having contractions or Braxton hicks and just not feeling them. LO is sitting super low and even though I'm still 12 days from my due date I would just love some sign that the end is near!

    Okay I'm done complaining now.
As a fellow long time vomitter I just want to say I understand. Throwing up daily is not just physically draining but emotionally. It leaves you feeling incredibly weak and vulnerable. I just cold turkey quit Zofran 4 weeks ago after being on it since week 10 but nausea and vomiting have returned this week along with the depression it totes along.
    Definitely over this shit

Really the nausea and vomiting are why we're done after this LO.  Well, DH is done anyway, but I was going to need more convincing. Not so much after the nausea & vomiting.  My sister's friend is mid first trimester and miserable, and she asked me for advice.  I am so sad for her - and I hope it goes away for her, unlike me.

  • So it's the full moon- anyone in labor??

    cat fail animated GIF

  • so woke up a little bit ago and randomly had some diarrhea and now I've been having contractions sense and my lower back is killing me .. wonder if this will turn into anything it's so weird because I've felt off the past couple of days and googled feeling off before labor before going to bed tonight lol

Pretty sure I'm contracting every 10 minutes. Just started timing...wasn't expecting to go into labor from this bloody catheter but apparently it can happen in 10% of women. I blame the moon!!
  • I've had contractions since 1 am about 8 min apart to 3-4 min apart so nothing super consistent but last more than a minute and all in my back .. I haven't even woke up my fiancé since he's sleeping on the couch as he's been getting over a cold .. my last labor was only 4 hours from being induced so I'm scared this one will go quickly I wonder if I should call ..
  • I get one painful cramp/contraction about every day (lately it radiates from low back up to my ears!) and then I spend the rest of the day staring at the clock.
    This babys never coming.
  • I started having spurts of false labor lately. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and will have a hour or so of time-able contractions 5-7 minutes apart that will stop for a few hours and then start up again. I just want my body to stop teasing me.. I'm far enough along that if the baby chooses to come I'm ok with that or I can wait another 3 weeks. Just pick an option and go with it   :(
  • @mello13 good luck!! So exciting!!

girl dont we have the same due date (may 9)? gotta relax, we have 2+ weeks to go.
I was going to say, it only gets harder to relax as time goes on. I'm due on Friday and I'm really starting to feel like she's never coming.

We do! Of course today I've had four of these bad boys in a row. I've been convinced since day one that they had my due date wrong so we'll have to wait and see :)

I've had the same problem, except mines usually right after I eat if I'm still on my feet. So I figured it was gas but I've take. Anti gas meds and it doesn't seem to help. It feels like one long long contraction without a break, idk.

So I finally had a contraction I could recognize. It wasn't painful but lots of pressure everywhere. Felt like someone was taking my hips and back and squeezing. At least I know I can feel them. My mother never felt a single contraction.
  • So my Ob has never really talked about baby movement before and never told me to do kick counts.  I did them now and again anyways. For the last month or so she has been moving a bit less noticeably. Mostly she rolls instead of kicks so I don't always notice.  At my last appointment OB specifically said "and just keep track and make sure the baby stays active and keeps moving" Needless to say I have been hyper aware of it now.  This morning I woke up at about 6 and usually she is pretty active as soon as I get put of bed...Nada.  She didnt move after I had my morning coffee either which is odd. So I started eating Ice which normally gets her going and still nothing.  Of course by this point MH and I are pretty paranoid and borderline freaking out. I called the hospital and they told me I could come in to the assessment unit if I wanted to check up on her unless she starts moving before then.  She finally woke up at around 10am and hasn't stopped moving since then.  I hope she is planning to make her grand entrance soon because I really don't want to go through another freak out morning like that.  Anyone else have unusually still moments near the EDD?  Is she just cramped? or sleeping extra?

One annoying thing was that when I called the hospital they put me on "hold" for about 15 minutes.  Basically the woman put the phone down on the desk and continued the conversation she was having with two other nurses which I could hear and they were all laughing and having a good old time while I was on the line having a damn breakdown.  Needless to say I was beyond annoyed...

I got worried cuz my LO-who is constantly moving- didn't move for 4 hours! I got him to move by pushing on my belly, but my midwife told me usually at this point if you're moving they're not moving, which is annoying!
  • I lost my mucus plug tonight!
  • @Kurrant I'm sorry that the nurse you talked to was so dismissive! I've definitely noticed that as I near my EDD, the movement I feel is more of little wiggles or slow shifts. If I'm moving around a lot, it's easy to miss. Around 36w and later, the baby has significantly less room to move around.
  • @kurrant Honestly, if it were me and this were to happen again, I would head right into L&D and ask them to monitor baby just in case. I wouldn't wait for them to tell you it's okay. You never know if baby's HR is dropping at certain points or if something else is causing the non-movement. I know I am super paranoid with this pregnancy, but this is exactly how everything started for me last time and it didn't turn out well. Again, I am paranoid and I don't want to put that on anyone else, but this is my opinion.

@Kurrant was that wellington hospital? I'd make a complaint about that.

As far as movement, my MW never worries about kick counts or anything, she  just asks that baby is making lots of regular movement.

my first stopped being jabs and kicks and turned into a more sliding action about now. Kept taking my breath away lol. This one will have a quiet day folliwed by a really busy da,and is starting to  turn into slides as well.

If you are ever worried, go straight in, dont call and  wait. Better to have 100 false alarms than 1 real deal.

  • @Avidkeo No, it was at Auckland National Women's Hospital.

If this happens again I am just going to go right in instead of dealing with the nurses on the phone... Thanks everyone.
  • @Aquinna82  You sound like you're at the point I was a few days ago. I just had my LO today, so hopefully the end is in sight for you too!

  • Anybody else having a feeling of something being just...weird, for lack of a better way to explain it? Like, I can't put my finger on what's bugging me, and whether it's all in my head (most likely), or if there really is something off, or what. Had an OB appointment yesterday and nothing stuck out as being out of the norm for this point or as something to worry about.

This is either some weird (I can't get away from that word, sorry) part of my body's last few adjustments during the 3.5 weeks I have left before my EDD, or my anxiety is going up in a way I did not expect it to.

Yes! I keep trying to explain it like I have not an impending sense of doom but an impending sense of something!
  • @Kurrant : sorry the nurses were such TW. It's happened to me a few times over the last few days where I've worried about the same, especially since I fell again Friday night. I was out and about all day yesterday, so I fidn't feel baby moving much, but I was getting a ton of contractions. I'm actually awake now because I was worried...I have a home doppler and just used it to find his heartbeat. Seems fine. Just lying down on my left side now to do a quick count which will most lukely turn out fine, but I hear others of that impending sense of doom or something. Ugh, I just want him out of there so I can stop worrying about him being okay in there and hopefully I can stop falling like a massive klutz. All these contractions (not regular/frequent enough) are really getting annoying now!
  • @Kurrant I went in for monitoring when I hit 36 weeks because of decreased movement. Even though I barely felt her all day and she started moving right when I got hooked up to the monitors, the doc & nurses were glad that I came in and encouraged me to do so in the future if this ever happened again. That's what they are there for! I'm sorry you had a bad experience. After that day I can definitely tell that movement has changed/slowed down.

  • Well, I'm glad I have a space to"vent"...experiencing lots of hip pain, crotch pain and swelling of the crotch...so bad I'm barely able to wipe after urinating 5 times per night without wincing. No swelling of anything because I've only gained 6-7 lbs
