Yay for the healthy (not June) babies that were born!  I can't believe it's already getting so close.

I heard that Janet Jackson was taking time off to start a family, so she may not actually be pregnant but undergoing egg retrieval or something of the like and using a surrogate?   idk

@Palisson glad you're back, sorry you're feeling shitty :( but I did get a chuckle out of your son knowing how to say robitussin

I'm also gonna use an imaginary account once I get it done :)
  • @Palisson Just knowing that 20 months old can take Robitussin might just be a game changer in my world!!  My son gets horrible coughs and all we thought we could give him is Benedryll for the decongestion!  Hope you both feel better soon!
  • Baby girl isn't being as active today :(
I know they go through days where they sleep more and aren't as active but I wish she would just wake up and punch me and go back to sleep.

I AM NOT A MEDICAL DOCTOR AND YOU SHOULD TALK TO YOUR PED FIRST.
We give baby Palisson one of the two Robitussins that do not have any letters after the name. There is a cough and a cough & cold. He is still to little to take the expectorant. It helps a bit. I also found that giving him 5mls of Robitussin + 5mls of Children's pain reliever before bed helped him cope through the night without actually knocking him out or anything.

That's great to know!  Yeah, I will for sure talk to his doc first, it's just good to know there are other options!  The Benedryll mostly just helps him sleep but he still coughs all night!  I hate coughs!  I'm so glad we're coming to the end of cold and flu season!
  • @colesmom33- does he have any sort of asthma or reactive airway?

My first time randomly posting here just cause I'm that boring..lol. I'm with you on the movements. I'm 33 weeks today and baby was soo quiet and lazy all morning, he's just now moving around more but good grief it worried me to death cause he was soo quiet except for a teeny weeny bit of movement.

  • Did anyone see the update on baby Cindy in the Sept 2015 board?

  • Okay,so since I'm using a birth center as my care provider, we don't get ultrasounds at every appointment. The only one we've gotten so far was the gender one and we had to go to the nearest hospital there to get it. I'm thinking I might get one more for the GBS test but I'm not sure. I really wish I could at least get an estimate of how big my baby is cause I'm still concerned that my stomach isn't growing much for being 33 weeks. Might just be me but I always assumed I'd have a big baby cause I was big but now I'm not so sure.

  • I feel like I fell off the face of the internet! I haven't been on in over a week, and I missed so much I feel totally out of the loop now. Let me give you guys a quick update as to what's been going on.

Last week we had our third tri ultrasound and baby was low, so low that they couldn't see my cervix or the top of her head at all. We decided to do a trans-vag so they could see everything that they wanted to see and that is when they discovered that I am dilated and my cervix is thinning. Apparently I have also been having regular contractions I just thought they were seriously intense gas pains. (oops) So they then decided that I would get steroid injections to help develop her lungs "just incase" she decides to come early. I drove the 90 miles one way three days in a row for steroids and an extra US to check everything. As of now we have prepped and prepared in every way we can for her early arrival, and it is all up to her to choose her birthday.

Meanwhile H's grandmother took a little turn for the worst and had to be put on hospice. She keeps having mini strokes and they don't think she will make it much longer. She's 93 and has lived a great life; she is ready for the end. It is just sad for everyone else. Family has been trickling in and out of our tiny town to say their goodbyes, and staying at our house while they are here. It feels like I've been entertaining non-stop when all I want to do is lay on the couch and not move.

Sorry for such a long post, and sorry for not being so active. I didn't want anyone to think I was being a "only post when I want an answer" kind of person.  I'd love to be added to the fb group, I was a little confused when I finally got to log in today and saw the adds. I thought at first someone was posting the ad in their own post! Ha!

I totally get it, I hate days like that!  Drink some ice water, maybe that'll wake her up long enough to give you a comforting nudge?

@gray51015: Sounds like you've had quite a week! I hope baby stays put as long as she should, and that you're able to get the rest you need during all the comings and goings. Sorry to also hear about H's grandmother. It is tough to let someone go, even when you know they've had a long, happy life.
  • Yikes! Sending prayers your way @gray51015
  • @colesmom33- does he have any sort of asthma or reactive airway?

He has cold induced asthma.  Normally, he doesn't have any issues but if he gets sick, we have to use an inhaler a few times a day.  The doctor said he most likely will grow out of it, but right now it really sucks!  It was one of the reasons he was in our bed for so long.  Whenever he would get sick, I would want him right with me so I could check on his breathing and give him his inhaler during the night.  Parenting is not for the weak, that's for sure!  :)
  • @gray51015 wow! A lot going on for you! Prayers that your LO stays in as long as possible!
  • How scary, but I'm glad that they caught it @gray51015! Fingers crossed that LO stays in there as long as possible.
  • @gray51015 yikes! What a tough week for you. Hope that LO stays in there as long as possible and all of the positive vibes to your husband's grandmother.
  • Prayers for you, your little one, and H's family, @gray51015
  • @colesmom33- I truly feel you on that. I have allergy induced asthma and had pneumonia and bronchitis all the time growing up. It's awful and our son inherited my craptastic lungs. He had RSV at 8 weeks and while he's gotten much better as he's gotten older (he's 6 now), those nights when they cough so much and wheeze are both emotionally and physically exhausting. Have you tried nebs with albuterol?
  • @gray51015 hope that baby keeps cooking for a little while longer!  Sorry to hear about H's grandmother, hospice is never an easy thing to go through.
  • @gray51015- wow! So much going on. I hope baby stays put as long as possible! So sorry about H's grandma- even though it may be expected, death is always rough.
  • @gray51015 Praying she will keep cooking a little bit longer!! How far along are you?

  • @vikinggirl12 32+3 today, but at the US they said she was petite and measuring closer to 28 weeks.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Hopefully this will all be precautionary and she will stay in until full term.

  • @gray51015 - holy moly, what a week. So sorry to hear about your h's grandma. It's always hard to lose a loved one :(

Echo'ing others; how far along are you? How much have you dilated so far? How are you feeling?

  • @gray51015 I'm sorry you're having such a hard week! Prayers your little one stays in & healthy a lot longer!!! And I'm sorry to hear about DH's grandma, losing anyone no matter what the age isn't easy, my thoughts are with you!

  • @gray51015 So glad you were able to get steroid shots and start preparing just in case baby make an early entrance! Sorry to hear about your H's grandma, too.  Your family will be in my prayers.

PBear93 WHAT?! You were over 13lbs?! Is that like, a world record of some sort? Holy crap.
It must be, I think the record for biggest baby ever born was 14 pounds and it was in China. Are you sure you were 13 pounds?!
