How far along are you and how dilated?

Just curious! I am 35 weeks +4 and 1 centimeter. Doctor doesn't want me going past 39 weeks because of baby's size and my GD diagnosis. Crazy to think we'll be having a baby THIS month!

    Monday I was 35w5d. 0 dilatation, 70% effaced and baby at -1 station. I don't think it means to much. They will use that together for your bishop score to determine if induction is favorable for you if you don't go into labor on your own before 39 weeks.

    Nope not mandatory - unless you have medical concerns your OB would need to check like GD and they might need to induce early. You can decline if you don't want the checks. I asked mine since she was down there to do my group B strep test but I probably won't again till 39/40 weeks.

    I was checked yesterday - 35 w - and 60% effaced with zero dilation.

    I'm 35w4d and I was in L&D last week to get checked out for pains, etc. They checked me and I was not dilated or effaced at all. Cervix was long and thick. I will not go past 39 weeks as well but b/c I'm having a repeat c section. So it doesn't matter if I never dilate. The dr in L&D didn't think she'd come early which is good b/c I'd like to walk into my scheduled c section.

    When I went in the hospital with contractions every 2 min saturday night, I was apparently 1-2cm dilated, and somewhat effaced (not sure how much). I was checked by two different OBs (the one on call Saturday night, and the other one Sunday morning). I went to my OB on Monday because I was feeling like death, and when she checked, she said I was absolutely not dilated and said the other two OBs probably got fooled...so yeah, I'm somewhere between not dilated at all and possibly a little dilated. Going for a NST on Friday to make sure all is well, and next OB appointment (with another OB from the group I've never met) next Monday...so we shall see. I'm 36w1d now.

    35 weeks and was checked today - cervix still closed and said I'm still "thick". Aka she uses terms with me that aren't over my head :smile:

    35 weeks.  I've Been to L&D twice this week for extremely painful contractions 2 mins apart.  Both times I was 1cm 50% effaced

    Same!  I really wish I didn't know,  because it honestly means nothing but it still makes you over think everything

    I got checked Monday at 35w3d and I am ! cm, cervix is long and thick.

    36+3 today.  2cm, but high and thick.  It's my usual for this timeframe, so I expected it.  I probably won't be checked again until labor.  I only let him check today because we did the gbs test.

    I was checked today.  I'm 34 weeks + 5 days w/twins (3rd pregnancy).  I'm 1-2 cm dilated and 50% effaced.  Still no way of knowing when these babies will come, but there's the information.  ;)

    34 weeks currently and was at 1cm at 32 and 33 weeks. Got a week off from checks and may even get next week off too (so long as there are no strange happenings or contractions)!

    I know exactly what you mean. I'm 36+1  now. ill go Saturday for an apt and will get checked! Even tho I know it means nothing. I can't help it! I was dilated 3 cm and 80% effaced with DS from 37w and didn't have him until 40+3. And there wasn't anything I didn't try...  it's such a mental game!

    At 35wks, my doc didn't tell me how dilated I was when she checked, which is fine by me! But she did say I'm not having this baby anytime soon! I'm rooting it'll stay there until my EDD.

    I believe my doctor only started checking me at 35 weeks because of my GD diagnosis.

    My Dr only checked because I reported contrax and I am a TTM, also she was doing the GBS swab, so I was in my paper gown anyway.

    36 weeks and have not been checked yet. I am holding off on checks until I feel a change or show symptoms.

    36w, No idea yet, but they'll check Tuesday when I get my strep swab and when they assess baby's positioning. The past 24hrs I've gotten that definite "it feels like baby is going to fall out" feeling which makes me curious to know. I do know that there isn't necessarily much correlation though-- just a few days before my water broke with DS I was only 1cm dilated and minimally effaced. 

    Edited my stupid autocorrect that likes to make non-words. Sigh.

    I'ts like reading tea leaves but I would think with baby at  +2 and at 4cm she's getting ready. Or you could be walking around normally for a few more weeks :)

    Im 35 weeks tomorrow. I'm 50% effaced and 1-2 cm dialated. The doctor told me I have to stay pregnant for at least another week...but...I get to go back to work on Monday!!

    They'll start checking me tomorrow at my 35 week appointment. I'm curious to find out where I'm at, although I agree with others that it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

    I'm 36+1, I had my GBS swab today and had some contractions so I was checked. 1cm and it actually wasn't painful this time. I also found out that my new practice induces at 37-38 weeks for pre-pregnancy high blood pressure even though my last practice allows patients go to their due date and then induces. I swore I asked this question at least twice before switching so I'm a little freaked out. I pushed for 38 weeks on the basis that my bp has been steady at 120/70. I was prepared for 4 more weeks, not 2. I'm hoping to discuss more next week since I'm not currently showing any conplications.

    I was checked when I was 34w3d due to contractions. I'm 3cm but my cervix is still thick. I'll get checked again at 36 weeks.

    I won't be getting checks because it would only drive me crazy....buuuut I was talking to my mom last night and she said she was 7 cm for THREE WEEKS with my older sister. I've never heard of anything like that. So take those stats but don't think too much into it! Lol

    I was checked at 35+5 last weekend and was 2 cm 75% effaced and -2 station. It's been a week already since my last check so hopefully she holds on until 37 weeks!

    Was seen this afternoon: 2cm dilated, 60% dilated, baby sitting at -2 position. Doctor said to go home and pack our bags since we hadn't...she said we should have a baby in 2 weeks. Shit just got real.

    I'm 35w and was checked today. Not dilated and baby's head is still high. Didn't expect anything different.

    I had an appt today & I told her all the symptoms I've been having but she didn't seem concerned and said it was completely normal that baby is literally just bashing his head into my cervix and that she will start checking me next week when she does the group b swab! We are almost there ladies :)

    I was sent to the hospital at my 34 week appt because of high blood pressure and while I was being monitored it showed I was contracting quite a bit (I didn't feel it at all!) so they did a cervical check... I believe the phrase she used was "High, thick and closed" ... So nothing yet, thank goodness!! :-) this boys still got some cooking to do!
