39 1/2 weeks, 4 cm dilated, fully effaced, baby VERY low. OB was surprised LO is still hanging on in there, and rates my cervix at a 98% favorability. According to the textbooks, I should be in active labor, given my stats.
Normally, my hospital requires waiting until 5-1-1, but she encouraged me to go after I have just a few contractions 5 min. apart, as she thinks labor will go very quickly.
If LO hasn't arrived by next week's appointment, we will schedule an induction for 41 weeks. So, I have a max of 11 days to go!
3cm and 60% at 37 week appointment. Next check is on Wednesday. I've been contracting though for periods of time that last 1-2 hours and are every 3-5 mins. They always stop though so I've Just been hanging out at home waiting. So I'm curious if I've made some more progress since my appointment.
With my first LO I arrived at 8cm, delivered her in 1.5 hours, and didn't think it was true labor when I arrived at L&D. Needless to say, my bags are packed and in the car this time. I think I'll go quick again when I do go. I'm definitely not going to wait as long to go in.
Last week at 37+2 Dr checked and laughed.... Said baby isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Just so you all know I've had to be induced every time at 41 weeks and every time it's 0% effaced and 0cm dilated. And with one of my kids I went from 1-10 in 30 minutes. My longest labor took 13.5 hours from induction to delivery. The shortest was 6.5 hours.
37+3 and dilated 2 still. My doctor told me it would be a good two to three weeks. I'd like to prove her wrong. Lol. I know it really is a good thing to keep her in here as long as possible, but I am so uncomfortable. But at least I know others are in the same boat as me
39w2d and there has been absolutely no change in the past two weeks. Still at 3cm dilated, 50% effaced, baby's station remains steady at -1.
Not gonna lie, I'm pretty bummed there's been no progress, but on the other hand I guess if you have much progress from that point you're probably in active labor, and I was NOT in a state to actually deal with a baby until today.
38 weeks, still "long and thick" with basically no dilation. I have a sinking feeling this is going to be another induction baby. I so wanted to avoid that this time around....
Absoutely zero progress in the two weeks since my last check (I'm at 38w6d, 1cm and about 50% effaced). Head is down, but higher than the doctor would like it to be - she suspects that LO's head may actually be too big for my pelvis. Since she was at a minimum of eight pounds last week, I wouldn't be surprised. Also because I've been carrying her somewhat high again over the past few days...not that I wasn't comfortable before, but it's definitely more uncomfortable now. If I haven't gone into labor by next Thursday (by which point I'll have hit 40 weeks), I'm going to get a fourth ultrasound, and we'll decide what to do from there...
40+6 today. Had my first cervical check yesterday. She said I was a loose 2 cm, 70% effaced, baby's head was super low and my bag of waters was bulging. I had super uncomfortable/contractions all last night but they've gone back to feeling like bh's this morning. Midwife was pretty confident I would go into labor soon.
Just want to reiterate what's been said before - please take your progress with a grain of salt as it really has no bearing on when you will go into labor. I was 1 cm when my water broke.
3cm as of today...38 wks.....child #2. They offered to allow me to schedule an induction next week if I wanted. I think I'm going to tough it out. After having to be induced last time.....I don't want pitocin again if I can avoid it.
38+1 and progressing nicely. My midwife never makes any predictions, which I appreciate, but said that my body was doing a nice job getting prepared for baby boy!
I'm a "generous" 1 cm and still thick so pretty much haven't made any progress at all since I was first checked at 36 weeks. Kind of depressing since I'm having tons of painful contractions and other symptoms. Hopefully things will start happening by my next appointment on Tuesday.
3.5 just about 4 cm. water broke!! In the hospital hooked up to an epidural and IV. We get to meet the little one so so soon. I hope all is going to be good with her.

3~4cm/and thinner than 70% at 38+4. Baby is super low, so much so that the doctor didn't find her heartbeat with the Doppler for a good second. He also did a sweep for me as I want to avoid a medicated induction if possible. She is borderline SGA so if she waits too much longer I'll have to be induced
"closer to 1cm, but still not quite" 50% effaced and -3 station at 39 weeks. The only thing that changed in 2 weeks was my effacement, from 20% to 50%. She's obviously not listening to me lol
39w4d and still 1cm and 30% effaced. Doc says it really means nothing but I'll be induced next week if I don't go into labor before. I have high fluid levels again although not as high as at the end of my first pregnancy.
Was checked yesterday at 38w 5d and was still at about 1cm but moved up to 60-70%. She didn't give me a station though...hell, I don't even know what that means. But, like @LadySamLady said, I'm just taking it all with a grain of salt and just playing the waiting game! I had a dream the other night that I posted a video on TB and FB of my water breaking and I woke up in a panic thinking my water had actually broken. I was just sweaty...

I do this about every night. I will wake up to go to the bathroom and realize I'm "wet" but after a moment I realize I'm sweating and feel the bed to make sure. I need more sleep in my life.

YES, I'm notorious for checking the sheets too! Followed by a defeated sigh.
I can finally contribute to this thread! Had my very first cervical check and sweep today. I'm 2cm dilated but can be stretched to a 3. I bled quite a bit when she did the check. She was a bit surprised but not worried. Just said my body is definitely 'ready'.
I know I should be excited but I'm only 38+1 and I was really hoping for a solid week of prep and maybe some sleep! My last day of work is tomorrow thank god.
She did however make sure to give the classic 'could be tomorrow could be 2 weeks line'. But I did manage to get out her that she's be surprised if I was late.
So I haven't been following this thread & started off at page 7. Saw @TXmamatobe was having her first check & then I scrolled until I found you again to see if you were dilated...how creepy is that?! haha- just had to call myself out.

Doc said my cervix was pretty "unfavorable."
