Gah. West Coast means I'm just starting to function...
I'm glad you guys all agree that it sounds fucking nuts! I absolutely will never ever be alone with her and neither will my kid. I told H about what she said and I'll tell my mom. Everyone else in my family is so damn oblivious because they think a cute baby is on the way. If I mention anything they get mad and start accusing me of acting like my mom and thinking someone is always out to get me. So annoying. She doesn't know where I live. Thank God - but I've seriously considered staying at my mom's on nights when H works late just to be safe. I think after last night I'm going to start. Her text just totally rubbed me the wrong way. She had just posted about her situation on Facebook but felt the need to reiterate things to me privately in a text? Odd.
I'm still in the thinking she isn't even pregnant camp and am anticipating a claim of loss very close to my due date. I've never heard of a planned induction at 30 weeks, 2 months ahead of time. I guess time will tell. I wish she would just go away.
In other news, I completely agree with @CourtJack. I'd check into a maternity hotel for an extended stay in a heartbeat.
@parsonsperson wonderful news! Prayers her recovery is smooth!
Quick update on my father's diagnosis. His surgery has been scheduled for a week from tomorrow to remove the prostate cancer, he also has a bad hernia that they feel needs to come out asap so they're doing it at the same time - so its a major surgery with overnight hospital stays. I'm stressing majorly about it but praying that all will be ok and that when they remove the lymphnodes around the prostate they are clean (which would mean the cancer hasn't spread outside the prostate and that radiation isn't necessary). Also praying that this surgery puts the whole ordeal behind him (and my family) and that he receives a clean bill of health afterwords!! Would appreciate additional prayers from my June BMBers
I have MUCH to catch up on after not bumping at all yesterday, but wanted to say that my best friend's mastectomy went smoothly yesterday and she was tough as nails about the whole thing. I was in the waiting room with her parents and fiance and I got to see her in recovery--again, what a tough cookie! They began the reconstruction at the same time. The surgeon said that they took 2 lymph nodes to test, but that from what she could see, the surrounding tissues looked healthy and the "edges were clean," so that's good news! Hoping she doesn't have to do any follow-up chemo. Thanks to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers and well wishes for her. I know she's so relieved that part is over...now on to the recovery stage!
So happy to hear this! Praying her lymph nodes are clear and she can recover quickly.
In other news, more people are coming out of the woodwork to start a thread to remind us that they have gained no weight and I look like a furry baby whale. Quite the slap in the face as it is 7:00am and I have already started second breakfast. That's okay, more food will make me feel better about it.
@ahernandez16 your cousin is insane..... I... Just.... No words. She's probably going to pull the miscarried card (I hate using those words as its a very real thing many of our fellow bumpies have gone through), and try and steal your moment when baby comes. And it's sickening. Ugh I want to punch her in the titty.
@parsonsperson so glad to hear that the surgery went well!! Double mas is no joke!!
@msbeachnj happy to hear that your dad might get to skip radiation. My dad went through it (he didn't get surgery as the chemo/radiation combo was the first choice as they caught his early), and said it wasn't so much painful as it was uncomfortable and made him want to sleep all day.
Keeping ALL of you guys in my thoughts and prayers for fast healing and no run ins with crazy cousins.
@msbeachnj hope everything goes well. My grandpa had prostrate cancer and after surgery they put these chemo/radiation (I'm not exactly sure I was little when it happened) disks in during the surgery to get rid of the remixing cancer--he never had to go into the hospital for treatments.
Just got back from my 31 week appt. They found bacteria in my pee, my midwife told me to stop taking so many tums as they can cause small kidney stones that scratch the urinary track and create a uti. Apparently you shouldn't be taking more than 4 tums a day. It doesn't hurt when I pee yet, but I'm still drinking cranberry juice just in case. Have you guys ever tried cranberry juice? NOT cranberry juice cocktail, cranberry juice? It's terrible. SO GROSS. Also, I'm not totally convinced that cranberry juice actually helps flush out uti bacteria, but I guess if it's good enough for my midwife it's good enough for me.

Maybe you can just take cranberry pills and lots of water? Less yucky?
@WinniethePoohsPants- ugh. Sorry!! Plain cranberry juice is awful. I feel like I've read in multiple places that it's a misconception that it helps UTIs and any extra liquid to help you keep peeing is helpful. Who knows.
So the earliest I could book my 2-hour GD test was 10:40 am. So I can't eat or have coffee all morning.
I might actually murder someone. I keep telling myself "this is such a minor thing, stop being dramatic, you are not having a particularly challenging pregnancy all things considered" but then I get another hunger pang and switch right back to "THIS IS A HORRIBLE INJUSTICE WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE TO DESERVE THIS"
@ahernandez16- as everyone else has said, HOLY CRAP at the level of BS that consistently flows from her mouth. I'd bet money she's not pregnant and something will happen so no one will meet baby and there will be a horrible non-surviving child. Ugh. Cannot. Even. Imagine.
@ahernandez16 I'm with PP. Don't find yourself alone with her, at anytime, ever. Also, is your cousin effing nuts, too? How can he subject his family to this nonsense?? What does the rest of your family say?
*Stuck in box again* but, AND THIS^^^^
I can't even fathom her ridiculousness it's so bad...
@parsonsperson - your friend sounds like a rockstar, I'm happy things went well and thinking of her and for a speedy recovery!
@MsBeachNJ - thinking of your dad, you and your family! I hope all goes well

I used to get UTIs at least every other month, to the point where my PCP wanted me to take Macrobid multiple times a week. It could totally be the placebo effect, but I found that the times I could feel one coming on, if I just doubled up on the cranberry pills it would usually go away without having to resort to the antibiotics. You just have to get a high concentrate like 2,400 mg. Ran it past my OB and she said it was fine for a daily supplement, too.
It just hit me that I only have 9 WEEKS LEFT!!! I've got to get my butt in gear and get DS's nursery ready, pack my hospital bag, pre register at the hospital, omg how did this happen?! Tell me I'm not the only one freaking out a bit..
@ahernandez16 - Perhaps it's time to change your number? A few weeks ago (or months, who knows) when we were talking about the psychos who cut babies out of pregnant ladies and steal them I thought maybe that was a stretch for your cousin. Now it seems totally feasible, stay far away.
@nicknshan- If you're ever in Houston again let me know!
I was totally thinking the same thing @ahernandez16! She's clearly obsessed with you. Be careful around her.
Yes. This^. If i had a cousin/relative etc. like this, I wouldn't let her near me or my baby, ever.
Emztron500 - mine was at 11. Rant away - it sucked!!!!! Any chance you can take the afternoon to sleep and/or do absolutely nothing? I was wrecked after my test, even after I ate. I had a massive headache and needed to sleep. (not to add to the awfulness - just to prepare you for a possibly crappy day).

That's how I felt after the one-hour one, plus I was super shaky. I can't imagine the three-hour FASTING one. I'm sorry, ladies

No I'm freaking out as well! I haven't done anything above either. Trying to be a nice wife and not kick DH out of the office before May...but I don't think I'm going to make it.
@WinniethePoohsPants I'm a weirdo that actually likes the stuff. It takes some getting used to but it really will help. If you make smoothies you can add it in there with some other fruit to help with the taste. It's so good for you though.
@ahernandez16 I am so sorry you are dealing with this crazy person. Be careful. I feel awful saying this but I don't think she is really pregnant.
@MsBeachNJ keeping your dad and family in my thoughts! Sending positive energy and thoughts his way for a successful surgery and recovery.
@parsonsperson so happy the surgery went well! Such a scary thing to face.

I GOT THE JOB! wooooooo i start the 18th. Next week will be filled with completing all my back ground checks and online training modules so I can jump right into training with a therapist on the 18th. The company is so amazing and very family friendly. I think it's going to be a great place for me. After my training is complete I will be a certified ABA Therapy Tech. So excited. I think this will be a great fit and so rewarding. Also excited to learn skills that I know will help me with those crazy toddler years! ABA therapy is so awesome and I think it's going to help me in so many different ways in my daily life. So excited to learn more about it!!!
feeling so blessed that I found a good paying job that is so much more than just a paycheck. Thanks for sending all your positive thoughts my way. I know it's helped. Hugs.
@WinniethePoohsPants lemon water.lots of lemon water. Straight from my urologist's mouth to you. The acid in the lemons will help break down any stones or calcium deposits. I had 4 kidney stones with my DS2 and he told me to drink lemon water to help prevent them from forming again bc pure cran juice sucks
@WinniethePoohsPants: I had a kidney stone a couple of months ago--drink yo' juice!! Seriously though, after a UTI in college (so, a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away) I was told to drink cranberry juice by the doctor. So, Idk if there is evidence now that shows it's not as effective as once thought, or whatever, but it certainly can't hurt. Also, like @sdnybrk1 said, lemony water is good, too. Hope you're able to clear it up!
Re: Weekly Randoms go here...
Re: maternity hotel- will said hotel have 24/7 room service, adjustable beds, masseurs at our beck-and-call, and hot tubs we can actually use???

@MsBeachNj: Thanks for the update on your Dad. Hoping his surgery is successful to repair the hernia and remove all cancerous tissue!
@ahernandez16: Staying with your mom is a good idea. Also pepper spray.
Also, the hotel would be cheap, but 5 star!
