I just plucked some long, dark hairs from my stomach. I'm gonna go ahead & file that under "shit I never thought I'd say." Oh, pregnancy. What a wonderful, magical time...
I did this a couple weeks ago. Also, I second the checking the nipples suggestion. Why are we turning into werewolves?
@junebabyjoy oh no! I'm so sorry your OB was a turd. If it helps, mine was awful and we kicked him to the curb 3wks ago, so you're not alone in finding a new provider. I hope you find someone wonderful in the practice or elsewhere and that your former OB is out sick with a nasty stomach bug when you deliver.
Which reminds me - we interviewed a pediatrician yesterday because we want to get a vitamin k shot lined up for our little guy (we're delivering at home if we stay healthy) and the MD was such a twatwaffle about homebirth that he rolled his eyes and absolutely refused to help or give any advice. Wtf? I think he assumed that we are the type of people you see on the news whose kids get sick and they pray about it instead of getting medical help. My midwife saved the day though. She's certified in newborn care and can administer but can't prescribe; She was able to order a shot for us through an MD she refers to.
Also, I tried a date today. They're disgusting!
/end of my monthly post. I swear I'm here reading & doling out the love-it's! I just work some crazy hours and don't get to post as much as I want.
Thanks everyone! Close calls are always scary but we're thankful it was nothing in the end.
@CourtJack it's true! People forget how to drive in snow even though we always get one last spring storm every. Single. Year. We were on hunt club and it took us a bit more than a half hour to get from merivale to near uplands. Insanity!!
Texts from crazy... Looks like she's now all of a sudden anticipating a June baby. I don't really think a baby born at 30 weeks is something to "lmao" about but I also didn't realize this pregnancy was going to be a competition. *eye roll*
@ahernandez16 she is seriously mentally ill. Who uses "lmao" when describing a potentially fatal situation for their child? And docs don't schedule inductions for a baby two months in advance unless something is very seriously wrong. I feel bad for the child. WTAF.
@ahernandez16 that puts her actual due date at August 31st. Not late September. She needs to get her dates straight. Also, unless there's more than POTS going on, there's no way they would know they were going to induce at 30 weeks, that just doesn't make sense. I'm so sorry you have to deal with crazy mccrazypants over there.
@ahernandez16 OMG she is so terrible. I bet this whole pregnancy is made up.
That's what I'm thinking too. I'd be really careful around her. She really doesn't sound stable. How would someone know in early April that they will be delivering at 30 weeks in late June? I cannot think of a diagnosis that would require that.
Anyone else wondering if this crazy chick is gonna pop up on our bmb with some thread like "Welcome me! Conceived in February and am 28 weeks today. Due in September, But delivering in June at 30 weeks, so excited to join your group! Andplusalso I have every possible medical emergency, baby and I will be in nicu for 8 months, so go ahead with the thoughts and prayers for us now. Lolz for days!"
@ahernandez16- as everyone else has said, HOLY CRAP at the level of BS that consistently flows from her mouth. I'd bet money she's not pregnant and something will happen so no one will meet baby and there will be a horrible non-surviving child. Ugh. Cannot. Even. Imagine.
How do doctors know ahead of time especially for a FTM if you're going to "go early". I just don't get it. I have a short cervix, have been sent in for preterm labor monitoring, have a baby measuring almost 3 weeks ahead and my doctor/midwife has never even said that. If there is no medical reason, why would a doctor say that? My guess is they don't and people are full of it.
@ahernandez16 - Perhaps it's time to change your number? A few weeks ago (or months, who knows) when we were talking about the psychos who cut babies out of pregnant ladies and steal them I thought maybe that was a stretch for your cousin. Now it seems totally feasible, stay far away.
@nicknshan- If you're ever in Houston again let me know!

I was totally thinking the same thing @ahernandez16! She's clearly obsessed with you. Be careful around her.
@ahernandez16 she is crazy!!! There's no way that's true.
This bothers me so much that I have to edit to add.. My baby has a 40% chance of dying in the third trimester. I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow. We have no plans to take her out earlier than necessary unless a problem arises.
In other news, more people are coming out of the woodwork to start a thread to remind us that they have gained no weight and I look like a furry baby whale. Quite the slap in the face as it is 7:00am and I have already started second breakfast. That's okay, more food will make me feel better about it.

I saw that and side-eyed it too. Unless your OB moonlights as a soothsayer? Probs same people who pee on a stick to discover sex of the baby.

Wow. I am cranky pants this morning.
Pee on a stick to determine sex? What a bunch of crackpots, everyone knows that peeing in baking soda is what tells you the sex

STUCK IN BOX****
Add me to the list that was thinking about the baby snatchers. @ahernandez16 what day is your due date? It's just too weird. Have you told anyone else in your family this new piece of information?
@ahernandez16 I'm with PP. Don't find yourself alone with her, at anytime, ever. Also, is your cousin effing nuts, too? How can he subject his family to this nonsense?? What does the rest of your family say?

Yes! Stay away! I wonder if you should maybe call her local hospital and find a way to warn them about her..I could totally see her grabbing a nb! Or yours!

She is definitely going to kill you and steal your baby.
@junebabyjoy run far away from that dr. I see a different provider almost every time I'm in my office and they always know exactly what's going on and what my most recent bloodwork was, what meds I'm on, etc.
@ahernandez16, notice the subtle line about him holding that long. That makes me think she's planning on saying she lost the baby. Probably the day you have yours because she so likes to steal the spotlight from you. And also, her baby would not be in the ICU, the NICU, maybe, but not the ICU. I also agree with everyone who says you shouldn't be left alone with her--she's some special kind of crazy.
My cat is currently singing the song of his people right outside my daughter's bedroom--cat if you wake her up, there will be no fresh water for you today (he likes to have his water bowl cleaned and refilled at least 2-3 times a day).

I want to make a super snarky and passive aggressive thread about this and ask the admin to stickie it. But alas, I won't.
@lunagrl79 yay for ABA! I used to work as an ABA associate behavior analyst when I worked full time, and did in-home ABA therapy after going part time when my first was born. It is such a great and growing field! The difference you can DIRECTLY make in the lives of kids and families is huge. I'm excited for you and can't wait to hear how it goes for you!
There needs to be a maternity hotel. Where pregnant women go when they want to avoid murdering their spouses. I want to check into this hotel for the next 10 weeks. Right?!

I have MUCH to catch up on after not bumping at all yesterday, but wanted to say that my best friend's mastectomy went smoothly yesterday and she was tough as nails about the whole thing. I was in the waiting room with her parents and fiance and I got to see her in recovery--again, what a tough cookie! They began the reconstruction at the same time. The surgeon said that they took 2 lymph nodes to test, but that from what she could see, the surrounding tissues looked healthy and the "edges were clean," so that's good news! Hoping she doesn't have to do any follow-up chemo. Thanks to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers and well wishes for her. I know she's so relieved that part is over...now on to the recovery stage!

Re: Weekly Randoms go here...
@junebabyjoy get out of there quick!

@shannonrnbsn my fail was simply how uncomfortable it was not dug into the underside of my bump all day.

Um...no, gtfo.
@ahernandez16: Wow. Cousin Crazypants seriously needs help. I'd keep my distance.
