Another UO (not UP). I am sooo done with this board organization topic. People aren't posting because the PSA thread, they aren't posting because we don't have that many people and a lot of people tend to wait for their first appointments to join. Also not everyone will post like a "regular". The PSA thread isn't overkill, its created a guideline to start with to help get conversations going and a place for them to start. People are still posting things that probably could fit in a designated tread and it hasn't been a big deal. I don't get why people are still complaining about it?
I guess it's because to me? It feels like there's always some comment on new posts lately about how "cluttered" things are on the board or that it should have been put "here -xyz thread". And that TTGP or TGAL board "does it this way". It weirds me out. I do agree more people will show up the further we get and this type of thing will remedy itself. I guess I know it's easy for a particular group of ladies to end up ruling a board. I mean, look at the mass exodus to ACF, the Parenting board crew, all that.

I appreciate when someone takes charge and starts a thread or helps a newcomer, I guess I'm just paranoid that too much order is going to prevent an evolution of the board. That's all, nothing sinister. So far, everyone here seems legitimately nice. I'm actually excited to be a part of this group, people have talked things out and seem to be excited as well. A BMB can be so freaking fantastic and useful. 2 years later and I'm still in close touch with some women from my last.
No not directed at you only. I guess I am just tired of talking about it on both sides of the fence (supporters and non supporters).

I just think we all need to see how things evolve and see what works for us.

Pizza without cheese is just bread and sauce. It is not pizza. I'm sorry @NatashaSprout I just can't support you on this.
One day I am taking you out for Chicago style pizza...with no cheese. You're welcome.
Now I'm all about the cheese on my pizza, but there is a place near my in-laws in Ontario (Roma Pizza) that makes this amazing cheese-less slab pizza. It comes cold and it's like the most delicious garlic bread with sauce on top. You can add toppings too.

Apparently this is where you post things you don't like.  I'm going crazy because my only internet is on my phone and I can't find a list of abbreviations anywhere!  So, I hate all these abbreviations!  What is UO?  What is m/s?  Grrrrr
UO stands for "unpopular opinions".  M/s is morning sickness.  The board organization thread pinned at the top that people seem to love to hate has a decent thread listing a lot of the more common abbreviations in it, if that might help your frustration.  Though there's also nothing wrong with just asking.  :)

    edit: missed a few words.
Thanks.  I found it once but could never find it again.  I'm sorry.  I've been very short tempered lately.

Love mayo, hate miracle whip. I think it's a deep south thing.

    Edit: wording
Word. Preach it sister. My MIL ... my god dude. She's a Miracle Whip lover (gag) and ever since she found out how repulsed I am by it, she has tried to sneak it into shit and not tell me, then try to get me admit that I like it. Except in 10 years, it's never worked.

I CAN TASTE THAT VILE CRAP IN YOUR POTATO SALAD JOE.
    YOU AREN'T SLICK, YOU'RE BEING A DICK.
My MIL does the same thing!!! I bite into a deviled egg and it's... sweet?! That's just not right!!

Also, I don't think it's a deep south thing. Miracle whip is gross in all places.
Oh I agree that it's gross in all places, but we only allow the unhealthy, full fat versions of every food like mayo, real butter, and heavy cream. It's why the food is so good, and why I will never lose my love handles.

The first time I saw miracle whip in a home was at my MIL's when I was 22. I didn't know people actually used it until then.
Ah I suppose that's true. I'm stranded in a land of Splenda and skim things!
Are you in granola-fornia (California) too?

I'm not familiar with a cheese steak but it sounds awful.

New England. I will concede that I could have it worse though... I remember when I lived in LA it was kale wrapped in Splenda and skim things, sprinkled with cilantro.

Have you ever tried making a grilled cheese sandwich by spreading the bread with mayo instead of butter? I know it sounds weird--I was skeptical at first--but OH GEEZ, it's life-changing...

  • I don't like Beyoncé. I don't like her music, she drives my nuts during interviews. I just don't get the appeal.
OMG yes. Finally. Everyone talks about her incredible voice and I just don't connect with it at all. She is totally average in my mind with her music. People treat her like she's this earth shattering, ground breaking musician and she is a pop performer. I remember back when Destiny's Child was big and her and the other two were being interviewed about letting the original 2/5 members go and she was suuuuuch a major b*tch about it. They pretty much started getting popular and kicked them out and then bragged about it in the most obnoxious, superior way.
While I agree that some ppl are way over the top about her, I am a Beyonce fan. I care less about her personality and more about the entertainment. Her music is fun, catchy and great to dance to. Also, when I'm pretending I can sing, she's a great duet partner ;)

And her concerts are nothing short of amazing. I've spent a couple hundred bucks  a pop to see her last three tours and it's been absolutely worth it each time. She sings, dances and entertains her butt off for three hours. Few ppl can or will do that today.

I do mayo on the inside with the cheese, and butter on the outside for the frying... because I'm a glutton. It's f*cking delicious.

UO: I think it doesn't make any sense when people say "I don't care whether it's a boy or a girl, as long as it's healthy." It's weird bc it implies that if you DO care, you don't care about the health. Like.. these are two different things!  Everyone cares about the health of their child, even when they're hoping for a girl.
I said that because my last baby was apparently too unhealthy to live. That statement doesn't imply that those who want a specific sex don't care if baby is healthy. Yes, everyone wants their baby to be healthy, and it's perfectly normal to have a preference for one sex of the other.  It's just that after a loss, that preference seems to go away, at least for me, and I know for a lot of others as well. I'll take what I can get as long as I don't have to go through that pain again.
