I'm speaking at a national conference next week and I just started working on my slides. I'm so stressed, yet also don't care. I need to get motivated!!
@bnsmith85 I just came on to ask if everyone else is as utterly exhausted as I am today! Easter kicked my butt, I feel like I need 2 days of sleep to recuperate!
I didn't sleep well last night so I'm kind of a bitch today but WTF is up with the 1st Tri post basically asking if she's showing yet before her damn pee stick is dry?! Come on, people cannot be that stupid. Also, the poor TTGP ladies are dealing hella drive by "Am I pregnant?" posts. It's taking all my will power not to jump in. The interwebs are full of crazies today.

is it just me, or is the board super quiet today? I'd much rather be bumping than working! Wake up everyone!
Yes this. So quiet. I have to check out other forums because our BMB is so quiet. I went to look at the Baby Names board today, and someone named their daughter Jizelle. Not a good name. Why not Giselle? How are people not gonna think Jizz when they see her name? Maybe it's just me and my mind automatically goes to the gutter.
Sooo our toilet stopped up for good last week (not the temporary kind that gets fixed with a plunger). Tried four different kinds of plungers and a toilet auger, no dice, so we called a plumber (covered under our home warranty). He came this afternoon and his auger broke in our toilet. He'll have to come back later with more parts. We don't have kids or dogs or anything - I guess our cat could have put or knocked something in, or it could have been from the previous owners (we haven't been here a year yet). However, I'm terrified that it will turn out to be something of mine and my husband will blame me!
I'm one of the quiet ones. I really have been in a funk for the last week or so. Not sure if it's pregnancy related or just a mood. Trying to perk up a bit. Maybe now that just the thought of working out doesn't exhaust me I'll give it a shot.

@RainMira9e this reminds me of a story I read this morning. About the girl who was on a date and pooped at her date's house and his toilet wouldn't flush. So she put the poop in her purse!
I'm thinking of starting a TMI Tuesday thread (tomorrow). I looooved TMI Tuesdays on my last BMB. Made me feel a little more normal and a little less disgusting.
Thank goodness this thread got started. The board has been quiet today and I have needed to get my rants out!
We told my in-laws about the baby on Easter by DD wearing a promoted to big sister shirt and...nothing. As in, not even a comment but literally a shoulder shrug from my MIL. A shoulder shrug? Really. F you.
And I just found out today that it is looking 90% likely the person I despise at work the most will be my new boss. Awesome!
On the upside, they are releasing a new parental leave policy at work next month which will give us 12 weeks of paid leave plus 6 weeks of disability. Score! So at least if I have to work for the worst woman on earth I have a 4.5 month break!
<end rant> thanks for letting me vent.

I know many of you don't like maternity photos, but I won a free session today and I'm thrilled because she's the photographer I've chosen to capture the birth of lil bean. Now I'll at least get to meet her before she's all up in my biznast with a camera.
@annabenanna I read about that girl! It was pretty hysterical!
I'm pretty tired from this weekend as well. Easter is always a weird one for me since I am not Catholic and didn't grow up celebrating it. I didn't realize how big of a holiday it is, but my husband is from a south side Irish, huge family and they take Easter pretty seriously.
I have been having major food aversions for weeks now, but for the past three days all I can think about is crab legs. I've been going on Yelp just to look at pictures that people have posted at seafood restaurants near me because I'm so obsessed with crab legs right now. I know, I'm weird. My husband has a half day tomorrow (otherwise he works 10-9) so he's finally going to take me. I'm ecstatic.
@rozANDbensince2001, I was laughing at her story! Especially when she said she was making out with him and all she could think of was "i have a poop in my purse" LOL. Easter is a weird one for me too because SO is Jewish and I'm Catholic, so I feel like I can't go all out. Haha. Also, on another note: Since you have Ben on your username, I'm gonna assume your DH's name is Ben, correct? Trivia: My ex-H's name is Ben, and SO's name is ALSO Ben, LOL. But I can't call him Ben, because that would be too weird... So I call him by his second name: Daniel.
@annabenanna Yes! I was reading and I was thinking this girl is just totally nuts! I mean, I can imagine the embarrassment, but would I ever grab a piece of poop and put it in my purse? Prooooobably not.
Yes, DH is named Ben! That is so funny! Calling him by his middle name is a fantastic solution to that weirdness! I always wondered about that actually and also about people who date people with their parent's/sibling's name? Would that be weird? I'm Thai, but I've never dated anyone Asian because I have 1.4 million cousins and it's too familiar for me--I just couldn't. But I'm a big fat weirdo.
ETA: Sorry I digressed. I'm tired and seem to just be typing whatever comes to mind
To piggy back on my previous post... I was just Lurking Dec 16 and someone actually intro'd over there even though she hasn't gotten a positive HPT. She just knows she's pregnant and the test is wrong apparently. The crazies are out!! I mean, I hope she's right but still. That's pretty weird to me.

@MRSCORKER - ha! Is that the chick who posted in the intro thread? When people called her out she was like "guys it's cool, my symptoms totally line up." Not enough eye rolls.

Yes! She had a negative pee test but intro'd anyway because she's "never late" and has symptoms.

Oh to be that confident. I'm predicting she would be one of those parents whose kid is never wrong and is the best at everything.

My random today is my family. We told parents about the pregnancy this Sunday. I still felt like it was a little early, but DH was DYING to tell someone, we'd had a good ultrasound Saturday, and we were seeing his parents in person, so we decided the timing was okay. My family is all OOT so I told my mom over the phone and swore her to secrecy except for my dad. We decided not to tell my siblings yet because we're still only at 9 1/2 weeks, because sister #1 is going through a rough time right now and I didn't want to be all "hey sorry your life sucks but I'm totes KTFU!," and because sister #2 has my little nephew and I wanted to tell them by facetiming them and showing them the "BEST COUSIN EVER" shirt we got for him, which we've ordered but has not arrived yet.
So sister #2 tries to facetime with me twice Sunday night (we missed her calls because we were having dinner with the in-laws). This is a relatively rare occurrence, especially at night because she usually only facetimes when the nephew is up, but it was Easter so I didn't think too much of it. Then she tries to facetime with me AGAIN last night. Nephew is up but it's his bedtime, and she and her husband are asking all these questions about how we're doing, clearly fishing for information, asking when they're going to see us again (we literally just saw them last month), talking about rearranging summer travel plans and maybe coming to me instead of doing the get-together we were planning at my parents house . . .
Yeah, I'm like 90% certain that my mom spilled the beans to sis, and sis is just waiting for me to tell her. Damn it, Mom -- can't this be my news to share when I'm ready?

Ahh, I'll hold off on saying anything just yet. But I'm oddly fascinated by it too, and curious to see how this turns out.
