Thanks!! No it is actually painted strips of birch plywood. Super easy job, just time consuming.
Home Depot will cut strips for free when you buy the boards. I chose 5" but probably could have gone with 6". I also would limit it to 3 colors or all white because I feel it came out a little busy, but I still love it. We are team green and if it's a girl we are going to cover a few of the gray boards in a muted or thinned out eggplant color. I will also replace dresser knobs and get a girly chandelier....the room is neutral but definitely leans toward boy.
Have added the bumpers to the bed and a mobile, waiting on my rocker which hopefully arrives before baby! She'll be sharing with her 2.5 yr old SUPER excited sister!!!
We didn't have much space to work with but I LOVE how it came out. Not completely done yet though, we are putting a light gray/white glider in that corner where the stroller is facing and I hope to put a small rug down on the floor. We also changed the lightbulb to a whiter light (I hate the yellow lighting!) so it's better now even than when I took this picture. Maybe I'll post an update when it's actually full done. Either way I'm super excited!
Just started the nursery this past weekend! Convinced my husband to turn the office into a nursery. We painted, put in new carpet, and started to decorate! We still have a ways to go, but at least it's something!
So everything is pushed against one wall because my mom insists on sleeping on a blow-up mattress in the baby's room. Not exactly what I envisioned, but I guess it will work. What do you guys think?
@kwigg009 very cute! But why does your mom insist on sleeping in the baby's room? Is it a temporary visit or long-term sleeping arrangement? If you're okay with it, that's what matters, but if a family member told me they were going to sleep in my baby's room I'd laugh.
She is coming from another state to help out along with my 87yr. old grandmother. The baby will be sleeping in our room in a bassinet so I'm guessing she just wants the room cramping my style
