No planned c-section yet. I came back last night and they put the wick back in and this morning I was 75% thinned and at 2cm. They broke my water at 12:35 but it seems like not much is going on but idk. We will see.
I have reached the point where I can't tell a difference between LOs movements and BHs. My body is acting pretty weird these days so I have a strong feeling I might go into labor sooner than I thought.
I've been able to tell the difference when my entire stomach hardens. Sometimes I think it's just her butt moving across or something but then when I actually touch my stomach, the entire thing is hard as a rock. And if I'm standing when it happens, I get pressure down below.
If you had to be induced and you were fairly dilated (4 or 5), would you choose AROM or a small amount of pitocin to try to get things started?
The therapist in me immediately thought "active range of motion?" What will that do? *facepalm*
But yes.. that. Water breakage.
I had exactly the same thought! I'd have my water broken if that's an option, haven't done any research but I would guess that'd help the body progress on its own and the contractions might not be as hellish.
I've labored fine through pit contractions with my water intact, piece of cake. Laboring with my water broken is an entire new level of hell. And I worry about cord compression and malposition of baby if she is forced down by breaking her water.
But then I don't want to be tethered to an IV either or block my bodies natural oxytocin. Ugh!!!
3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3) - #3 due March 30!

Does this mean they're inducing or considering? I know your vitals have been a little wacky lately...

I won't go past 39 weeks and if I'm dilated to a 5 at my appointment tomorrow, they're sending me to the hospital. The urine dip stick at my midwife today also came back positive for protein so I fee like it might be the day tomorrow.

I have no choice but to be tethered to an IV so I'm gonna say break the water!

Nope, I'm not ready! Hopefully you'll level out and be able to keep her in there until 39 weeks...
@CCLow87 Break the water! I think that was the smartest move to make when I was induced with DS. If I had not made the suggestion, who knows how long my 33 hour labor would have been... Or if it would have turned into a c-section.
Sorry it took me forever to update everyone it has been crazy! So I delivered at 12:25am on March 15 to a little girl. She was 6lbs 3ozs, 17 inches long, and shares a birthday with daddy!!! It was a very long process but so worth the wait. The best part was at 11:30pm my doctor told me that I was at 6cm and 15 minutes later she can back and she told me that I'm ready to push and I only pushed from 20 minutes
I've mostly been a lurker with a few comments, but today at my dr appointment my blood pressure was high. I was sent to maternity triage and now I've been admitted to start induction at 37w6d. This definitely isn't how I expected my day or end of pregnancy to go. I sent my husband home to finish packing the bags and get the dog to boarding, and within the next few days we will get to meet our baby!
I'm so terrified right now since I'm alone, but my aunt is a l&d nurse and will be here soon for work. She also got me hooked up with a giant room. Fingers crossed all goes well and baby gets here safely!

Sorry to hear, but glad the condition was diagnosed in a timely fashion. Good luck and wishing lots of health for you and baby!
@KarenM1118 I'm sure that will be the fastest your husband has ever packed, and he will be back with you sooner than you know. Best of luck to you and your baby!
I had the same exact thing happened to me. I delivered at 37wks in 4 days but start to process at 36wks 6days. The best advice I will give you is try not to get frustrated if you don't dilated quick (I know that it is hard). Best wishes and I hope everything goes smoothly. I hope that I can make you feel better by telling you that my daughter ended up being healthy and I can't believe that she here alright.
How many BH before I consider it early labor? I have had 20 pretty regular ones since I got home from work, but they haven't been very intense so we will see what (if anything) comes of it. I would hate to put in for a sub for my classes tomorrow and show up to work on Monday like "Just kidding, baby is still cooking!"
I had crazy regular Braxton hicks on Sunday. 1.2 minutes long with about 7 min apart. It didn't matter if I stood up or sat down or etc... It was like clockwork... They ended up tapering off throughout the night and I could sleep through them... So I figured it wasn't the real thing.

My L&D told me they don't consider them real labor contractions if they are less than 40 sec long. When I do get them regularly they are about 10 mins apart for about an hour. I told this to my doc and she didn't seem concerned since they are still pretty irregular for the most part and only about 1cm dilated. They have become more intense every week but hardly any progress in two weeks. I'm FTM so all this is new...
@korpatch Yeah, that's pretty much what these have been like, doesn't matter how much water I drink / if I am walking around or not, we'll see if they get more intense or if they taper off.
@knottie2891384 Thanks, they've only been ~30 seconds and not painful, so I'm nowhere near where I would go in. I'm a STM and I remember it being a pretty distinct difference between BH and real labor last time, so the waiting game continues
wow! I'm 35 weeks 2 days and learning a lot from you girls who are about 2 weeks ahead of me. I've had a few BH contractions (does anyone else feel they come hand in hand with pressure headaches?) but really not that many all up. Looking forward to hearing more stories and all the best to those nearing labour! :-)
WWYD: contractions every 6-8 minutes lasting around 50 secs. They said they wouldn't stop labor after 35 weeks, which I am. Would you go in or ride it out to see if they fizzle out again?

How long have they been going on?
Only 30 minutes, but they are stroooooonnnnng. I'm leaning toward wait it out

Yes! Backaches and lower bellyaches are coming with headaches.

@CCLow87 I say break the water, but that's because pitocin did nothing for me with DD. Breaking my water kick started labor for me.
