I don't even think it has to do with everyone trying to be polite. There have been several times where ladies do not agree with one another. They just are rational about their piece and don't go off about bullshit. I, for one, value that in people.
I agree that it's more than just politeness, I was just referring to the lurk-post that specifically said she was here to see what happens when we inevitably stop being nice. Like others, I found it funny, because this board has been awesome in terms of civil disagreement. To echo many others, way to go S16 for being full of normal, well-adjusted human beings who can have differing opinions without resorting to name-calling or personal attacks!
It's pretty pathetic to sit around watching a board all day waiting for them to stop being nice to each other. I really would love to give her a piece of my mind but at the same time refuse to give her what she wants. Drama. If that's the reason you're on The Bump, step away from the phone/laptop/tablet, and get a life for goodness sake! YUCK!
@Jabreen Haha now that's a reality show that I could get into. I'm apart of another mom group on FB that is very similar to our BMB as far as feel (not topic). It's amazing but people can disagree on the Internet without getting cray!
Maybe she isn't even pregnant. Maybe she's a 40 year old man living in her parents' basement just creeping around on The Bump all day. That's right, everyone... she could be a catfish!
I wish I could keep shut, but I didn't. And I don't regret it. She clearly doesn't stalk the entire board because there have been disagreements here. Even in the UO last week, people were disagreeing. Their board must be bored again. Since that's the go to reason to come here...
@UnwritteN12 I eat blue cheese every day. It is pasteurized so no problem there.
Also, flu shots HURT!!! I decided to suck it up and get one today since my doctor wanted me to and I know pregnant women should, etc. So I went and got it and it still hurts. It was probably not the wisest decision following work, a Brazilian wax, and considering it is my birthday. Lol. So I was having a pity party until I discovered my girlfriend sent me cupcakes in the mail (cute ones in a jar!). So now I am happy again. But, my arm still hurts.

Got an awesome recliner this week. Went home from work to let the delivery guys in. It wasn't until I got back to work did I realize I left my purse at home. The next day I almost forgot to feed the dogs before leaving. Then the day after I forgot to leave water out for the dog. Oh man, this pregnant brain is starting. Do we have a thread for this? Surely I cannot be the only one with things happening like this.

I'm there with you! One morning I left the door from the garage to the house open. Another I let our dog outside without his shock collar and left the patio door wide open. I also lost my truck keys for a good 5hrs one day. When ordering at a drive thru I had to have the lady repeat my order because I forgot what I had said l, and then had to tell her that was all wrong and start over. It's been bad
I have a tip for organizing TB. I wish when you gave someone a "shout out" that only their name appears when you @ symbol them. It annoying to see 80043736 different Blondies when it's not the one from our group! I get that it's handy when needing to address other boards, but can't they just "expire" the names that haven't been used in years?? #clusterfuck
Thanks for all of the birthday wishes! DH did REALLY good and bought me a new MacBook Air! Ya'll have no idea how hard it was for me to bump on my old laptop. It took forever. And if gifs were involved, forget about it. It would freeze or take like 4 times as long to post or scroll through them. I am a very happy girl!!

YESSSS I have to scroll back up every time I "@" someone to check the numbers at the end of their name because there's always a million choices!
There is a Draco malfoy figurine (action figure?) in my home and I have no idea where it came from. Hanna (almost 2) keeps carrying it around and calling it mommy. I have dark hair and look nothing like it, and it cracks me up.
I miss my husband on days he works overtime and it makes for an exhausting day being on my own with my daughter. But, it means I can eat cereal and ice cream for dinner.
to add to my hilarity, we told the two older kids on Friday that we were having another baby. They were super excited, but we haven't told everyone yet, so told them to keep it on the down-low. My brother came over for dinner tonight, and my son says "mommy! can I tell uncle that you have a baby in your belly?!"... Right at the table... While sitting beside my brother... *facepalm*

Is this irony or just bad. My friend asked me to babysit her 3 month old Saturday night and I'm scared. I have not watched a baby by myself since college, 3 years and up I have but not diaper age. Now I'm thinking I better be OK my little one is coming in 30 weeks. Other than the baby I'm a little nervous about watching the baby that late as I go to bed at 9:30 and I am a bit scared of their dog(it growls and barks a lot). Can I ask her to have someone else watch the dog? I wish she had asked before to watch for a couple of hours during the day to ease it. I feel dumb being pregnant and nervous to watch a baby.
1) you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. If you are uncomfortable, tell your friend! or, make up an excuse if you have to. 2) watching someone else's baby is different than caring for your own baby, so don't let your hesitation freak you out about your own motherhood! 3) if you are nervous about the dog and decide to babysit, definitely ask if the dog can be outside, in a kennel, somewhere else. You don't want to worry about a dog and a baby--that's a lot to handle, especially if you are nervous about one or the other or both.
I hope you can come up with something you're comfortable with and if you decide to babysit, I'm sure you'll rock it!
I looked up my weekly pregnancy pictures from last go-round this weekend (they're only on my computer since I deleted that The Bump account and took them on a phone I broke). So far I look really similar to last time around which is promising, I'm probably a few pounds heavier this time than last but no huge difference.
Also, I don't ever remember looking as pregnant as I did in the 36+ week pictures.. and guys.. I LOOKED GOOD!!! I hope we can all appreciate our pregnant bodies this time around. I was always really happy (once the bump took the place of the blump) and loved having a pregnant body but I didn't really see myself the way others did.
Now to start eating a little better so I can feel good this time around too!
I really wish my doctors would do in-house labs. Another thing I've never had to deal with until we moved. It's a real pain in the ass to have to make time for an additional stop (especially when, 9 times out of 10, the doctor has already run way behind at my appointment with no explanation and I have to get back to work) or find another time and day to do it. That is, if I don't forget. I'm already at your office. Just take my blood and send it off. Blah.
Just got done with my first appt and I'm slightly confused... Based on all the apps I've had and LMP (12/22) I was due 9/27 which makes me 9w6d...new week every Tuesday. They said baby was measuring 9w5d. Then the OB came in and said based on LMP due 9/28, based measuring due 9/29 but we will stick with 9/28. Are their different ways to calculate this? Not a big deal..but want to know what day my ticker change really is. WWYD? Change to Wed or stick with Tues and figure it out later.

It's really up to you. I personally would change to Wednesday so that the EDD matches what the doctor declared and what you medical files show. But it's only 1 day, so it's not too big of a deal in the long run.
