34 and 4 weeks here. Last night woke up around 10:30 feeling major indigestion and all around queasiness. I thought it was bc of big dinner and also a little constipation. Took a bath then at 11, ran back into the bathroom threw up 6 times. I actually felt better immediately after. Fell asleep and was up again by 1. Diarrhea. Couldn't fall back asleep. Relocated to another room as to not disturb my husband. 2 pm Drank some water then threw up all the water. Finally managed my way back upstairs to bed slept for another 2 hours woke up at 4 and threw up what little was left. Up again at 6 with more diarrhea.
Sorry this is Tmi but I am feeling sick as a dog. The real kicker is we are in DC area, snowed in and have a two and a Half year old.
Docs office opens at 10 bc of the snow. I plan to call then but in the meantime... Any suggestions? Have husband go door to door asking if anyone has Gatorade or ginger ale? We literally can't get out of our parking Spot for him to run to the store.
Worried this could be signs of preclampsia. I had my daughter at 35 and 5 due to hypertension and low amniotic fluid. Nervous about dehydration but not keeping anything down.
If you read this far ... Thanks!
This honestly sounds like you have the stomach bug that is going around, if you have it DH probably wont be far behind you. Try and stick with the brat diet and sip water even if you are throwing it up it will keep you hydrated.

@EmeraldSeaIt sounds like a stomach bug to me. You can make your own Gatorade with a ratio of 1/3 juice and 2/3 water and a pinch of sea salt (add more salt if you make a big batch of it of course). If you can't keep that down, try ice chips. Dehydration is your biggest enemy right now.

Thanks! Just passed six hour mark with no sickness and keeping Gatorade (poor husband walked a mile on unplowed roads to get some) and ice chips. Feeling optimistic.
@EmeraldSea Just so you know, some of the symptoms of Pre-E
Dizziness Headaches Visual Disturbances (blurry vision, spotty lose of vision) Rapid facial and hand/feet swelling Increase Blood Pressure Protein in the urine (one of the reasons you pee in a cup at your doctors office every visit)

I have the stomach bug too and I'm a bit worried about dehydration but I'm positive that's what it is because my whole family had it last week.
@ehowa499 Men sometimes really have no clue what we have to go through and I am sorry that you are in this much pain! We are counting down to the single digit weeks o hang in there!
DH can also complain about me not doing certain chores in the house and he thinks I'm just being lazy. But gosh! Don't they see this big tummy that is blocking everything? DH was complaining the other day that I don't put DD to sleep these days and I had to demonstrate to him (because he wouldn't believe me when I told it) that I cannot physically bend over the crib bars to set her down without dropping / throwing her. She falls asleep in our arms on most nights so I don't want to wake her and redo this whole process again!
They really DON'T have a clue... I swear. I rarely have complained this whole pregnancy. I ask him to rub my legs for a little bit and he will, but then turns it around on him and he wants me to rub his leg, back, whatever. It's so annoying sometimes. He also told me "pregnancy isn't that big of a deal." Come again?! I could have slapped him. Aside from those dumb ass comments, he has been great with other things and takes out the dogs and cleans occasionally. End rant!
Not really a question, just complaining.... Slipped on the ice this morning Caught myself with my hands, scraped up my knee. Baby is wiggling like crazy - the fall must have woke him up! Falling when pregnant is always my big worry! (probably because of how people react to it) Spring can't come soon enough!
SO over being pregnant. Too big to do anything without getting winded. Bending is such an issue. DH just all around sucks (even though I know he's being more helpful than usual and its total hormones that make me just hate him).
But boy can I tell you how happy I am March is getting closer??? I see ppl posting about their July-Sept due dates and literally feel SO happy that I'm almost done and my baby will be here in a few short weeks.
I feel your pain @tJaffe when my doctor told me I hadn't made any progress since last week I started crying. I'm just uncomfortable and exhausted and sick of false labor that leads to nothing. And I'm only 37 weeks. Which most likely means I have AT LEAST 3 weeks left, based on the fact that my ds was a week late. Sigh. The last month feels like another trimester.
How little movement is too little movement? At this point, as long as I'm getting some, is that okay (I'm 38w5d)? Sunday night and most of the day yesterday baby girl felt so low in my pelvis it was like she was going to fall right out. I felt every little twitch and they were pretty painful b/c of how low she was. Last night I changed up my body pillow configuration to try to be more comfortable, and it helped a lot. She doesn't feel so low and painful anymore, but now I feel like she's not moving enough. I've felt some squirms and stretches this morning, but nothing like yesterday (as I'm typing this I felt a little kick). Just wondering at what point I should be worried enough to call my doctor. I've never done kick counting, but just off the top of my head I don't think she's ever consistently had 10 movements in an hour, so I don't want to start counting now and get freaked out b/c the count comes out low. I feel like I'm back in the first trimester, where if you start to feel more comfortable you worry it's because something is wrong! I have my regular weekly appointment on Thursday.
Honestly my MW told me four movements in an hour, not ten. Usually I feel more than ten anyways, but I think as long as you can feel baby you should be good. If you're concerned though it never hurts to call and ask your Drs office for a peace of mind!
If you are feeling some movement and feel like you have a good idea of her movement patterns then I think you are okay to wait a while longer to see if she picks up the movement later today/tonight. I have noticed that my my LO will sometimes be very still in the morning and then pick things up ALL afternoon and evening. Also sometimes she will have a super busy day followed by a more quiet one. If you are ever in doubt call your Dr. but for me 10 would be an average, some hours feeling less and other hours feeling WAY more.
Thanks ladies. Of course as soon as the day got going she has been moving a bunch, so as usual I was getting myself worked up over nothing...
I do that too, you're not the only one! And he starts to move around a ton as soon as I really get worried and want to call my MW.
I went to L&D a week ago because of decreased then complete lack of movement.... Literally, as soon as I sat on the hospital bed, he started to stretch and move. He didn't stop moving the entire time he was being monitored. Made me feel like an idiot! But I'll take that feeling every day over not getting checked.
Can some one help me, I'm just wondering if it's possible for your amniotic fluid rise from 2.89 to 10cm in a week? I hve a scan Friday to see if these have rose other wise I will be induced. I'm 37 weeks and 5 days. Thanks in advance
How much mucous comes out when you lose the mucous plug? I was hospitalized with unexplained bleeding at 37 weeks. I go straight back to the hospital with any fresh blood. I'm almost 39 now and have had a lot of bloody mucous pass today (all is dark old blood, so I'm not super concerned); but it was more than I was expecting with the mucous plug. (Took several wipes with tp to clean off the bloody mucous, happened twice after going to the bathoom) Definitely bringing it up at my appointment early next week, but im (FTM) curious if this is just a normal thing. Sorry if this is way TMI!
So bit of a random question and looking for some advice on how to go about this.
My feet and ankles have been incredibly swollen the past couple days. I called my Dr and spoke to one of her nurses and they told me not to come in and didn't put me on bed rest but said to keep my feet elevated as much as possible throughout the day. I work in an office and it's not possible at work.
What do you think would be the best way to approach a manager about approval to work from home until my leave starts without a dr note for bed rest?
@mistygenovese: You don't need a Dr. to write a note for bed rest- they can write a note with work restrictions without giving a reason. It is up to your employer to accept the restrictions or not. My OB wrote a note that just said I was under her care and could only work x hours a day for a total of x hours a week for health reasons, and that was enough where I work. I don't need to be on bed rest or anything close to it, my job is just too physically demanding for me to handle my regular schedule right now.
In the meantime put your feet up on a box under your desk. It's not as good as lying down with them up but it should help a little. I had to do that during my first pregnancy when I had a desk job.
Ditto what PP said. I had the same problem with my last pregnancy and the only thing that I vould wear to work was flip flops (actually my entire body was swollen). I work in an office and so it's technically not allowed but who could say no unless they just want me to stop working. Keep drinking water and put your feet up as much as possible. Watch your blood pressure too. Hopefully your mat leave is coming up soon.
Thanks for advice ladies, I appreciate it! I'm working from home today and am talking with my manager this afternoon about working from home or working less hours in office, my STD leave doesn't start until 3/19 but am thinking about going ahead and using a week or so of my FMLA or vacation time before that.
