Fletcher is totally cute.
Sean was definitely really big in the 80s but I think that makes it a cool choice. Everyone's familiar with it but it's not super common for babies right now. It's not like it was a made-up trendy name with a short life span.
I am also considering Margot and I totally think it is "supposed" to have a t at the end, but I've been seeing the name Margo around a lot lately (adults, not babies) so maybe it's more of a legit name than I thought? I still agree it's better with a t though.

We're pretty much decided on Lincoln Alexander. I am about 99% in love with it. I fought really hard for Sebastian Michael but I couldn't get H on board no matter how hard I tried. So when we got stuck between Lincoln Alexander (my 2nd choice) and Oliver Levi (H's 1st choice) I fought really hard for Lincoln. H wanted to use Ollie as a nn and I wasn't really on board with that. I think Lincoln will grow well and if LO grows to hate it, Alexander is a "normal" name he could choose to go by.
H's 2nd choice was Franklin. That was not happening.
DH refuses to discuss names until at least 32 weeks but likely not until 36 weeks! My list so far: Lillian Grace (my favorite!) Emma Charlotte (both popular though) Charlotte Elizabeth (very popular) Rosalie (need a MN) suggestions welcome!
Last name is short, common and starts with a J. Boys are Jackson Alexander and Garrett William

@emztron500 I am team Tycho and Astrid. I really like both of those. Although, I do think Tycho might not grow well, I like that you have Robert as a middle name which is timeless so he could choose to go by that as he ages.
I like the names thread. My little boy's name will be Samuel Ryan. I don't have a SO to run names by so I did get to pick out his name all on my own. I did run it past my parents just to make sure. But they both love it. It has a lot of meaning. My grandmother's name was Sara Ann M_____. So Sam is her initials and also what my grandfather called her as a pet name. My grandma past away about 12 years ago and she was an amazing woman.

A cousin’s daughter is Etta and I think it is really pretty. I’m not sure how you would pronounce Ariadne,
which makes it harder for me to like as one of my criteria is that I want
teachers, etc. to know how to say the name so my child doesn’t need to always
be correcting it (people don’t know how to pronounce H’s name, and it can get
frustrating for him).

We want something unique, but not "too" out there. I've always liked my unique name and DH has one as well. And, being a teacher adds an extra layer of toughness because I see all the trendy names and always feel bad for kids that have multiples in the same class.

I think Harper miller sounds like a really cool author or philanthropist, I really like it. Maybe if you do a middle name like Rosalie -- or something other then er it wouldn't make you think it was redundant??

I think Harper Miller is cute as well. I have a Peyton in my class right now and he drives me CRAZY, so I'm a little over that name. I say it like 700 times a day lol.

I like more classic names (Grace, Clara, Hallie). DH likes the trendy names (Harper, Peyton, Presley) and he seems to like unisex names. I'm normally ok with unisex names but I feel weird about it with DD2 since I know DH really wanted a boy. He's happy we're having a girl but I just worry that she will think "Mom and Dad named me a boy name because they wanted a boy". Feel free to tell me I'm being crazy and over thinking. Even I side eye myself for some of the crazy thoughts that come in my brain when I'm thinking about names. Naming a real live human stresses me out!
My SO has a very distinctive Scandinavian last name so we went fullforce on that. Our first son is Kaj Björn and our second will be named Egil. Choosing these names has been great because no one has the balls to question foreign sounding names. Not to our faces at least.
So, we had originally liked the name Gus. I was sort of iffy about it as it's cute, but not sure it 'grows up' well. Anyways, both our families thought it was weird (to put it mildly) and we decided that we needed to move on. Right now our favourite name is Fletcher. We also like Samuel and Matthew.
So, I know Samuel and Matthew are common enough that there won't be too much negative reaction to either of them. But Fletcher is REALLY growing on me and both my kids like it (and H too). So, I'm wondering what the consensus is here. I'm open to negative feed back - just don't tell me it makes you want to puke or something equally 'baby names board' reaction-like

Okay, I'll play! For our two boys we've decided Sean Michael and Dylan Jack (both middle names are family members). Our son's name is Cole Benjamin. Our last name is very Irish sounding, so I love Sean Michael with it but I'm nervous it sounds too dated, like from the 80's. I'm not a huge fan of super trendy names or made up names (especially since my name is one of those made up names!) especially for boys. What do you guys think?

Right?!?! The total irony of the whole situation is that her own mom stole her name (SIL's) name from her sister. I have told my other preggo SIL who is pretty much my bestie and married into the family too our name. She is having a boy, like us, but said SIL basically stole her name last time so I know she won't do it to us.
