    So our baby girl isn't going to have a name. DH and I cannot agree on anything name wise. He's got like 2 names that he likes. Every name that I suggest is a "no" for him. I've basically given up on discussing names with him because it's so frustrating. It's his names or nothing and it always leads to a fight. I guess this was more of a rant than a name opinion question but hey, it's still name related so I'm going with it.

    Same problem here! Dh hates anything I suggest, and he only likes super trendy names like Harper and Sadie. Poor little baby no name :(
    its frustraighting because I've actually found at least a dozen names I would be ok with, but dh refuses all of them

    I totally understand, my husband and I can't agree on names really.  We finally are between two names, Elise Marie or Lacey Marie.  Who the heck knows if we will ever decide though!

    Mine too! What is with these guys? DH only likes Harper and Presley (which isn't a popular name but it's just weird to me because it reminds me of Elvis and we're not Elvis fans). He won't even give me a reason as to why he doesn't like my names. He just says a flat out "no" and nothing else. I've suggested Grace, Clara, Hallie, etc. All "no". Grr. And I asked him to come up with some more names then so we can try to compromise but he won't. He just says "I like Harper". Soooo were at a stand still now. 

    @shannonrnbsn I like Ryan Silas. Very cute!

    I'm glad we're not the only ones who can't agree!! H says miles Lawrence is "too girly"! Are you kidding me?? But everything is too girly for him our stroller is black with a light blue pattern on a small section and its "too girly". Baby just won't be named until he sees things my way!

    I like Sean! It's a 'normal' name but it's not very common these days. I like Dylan too - but my preference would be Sean Michael and Jack Dylan. :) You can't go wrong with Michael as a mn and my son's name is Jack Michael so I'm biased to Jack :)

    @CourtJack - I think Fletcher is really cute! I can't remember which movie it was but there was one where the main character was Fletcher and went by Fletch.

    @jaceyannie I come from a very Irish family.  I like Sean.  I'll share a few more boy names from my family: Lyle, Devin, Regan, Patrick, Scott, Ross, Declan, Cormac, Gavin...

    I think we are narrowed down to Emmett Scott.  I am not 100% convinced as I still really like Alec WIlliam or Isaac William, those just aren't my husband's favorite.

    I like Emmett! Didn't you have another name you were keen on? I just can't recall it right now....or maybe that was a girl name. But I remember liking it also.


    And we thought of Angus but I can't say it in my head without a heavy Scottish accent....so we decided against it. :)

    @CourtJack we also had Bennett and Everett.  I think out of the -ett names, Emmett is leading the pack :smile: 

    Everett seems a little trendy and My DHs best friend is Benjamin, so he is concerned about Ben.  I like Ben.  I would even use Benjamin :smile:

    I love Bennett and Everett!! and totally agree with you on Ben. that name is adorable - but we have a cousin with that name already. Everett is the one I was thinking of. I think that name is adorable. Definitely not a trendy name around these parts, but that could change quickly I suppose :) I do know two Emmett's - but they're 7 and 8 yrs old - I know no baby Emmett's. :)

    @CourtJack I love Fletcher! It's different but still so cute.

    @jaceyannie I don't think Sean sounds dated at all.

    H likes Addison. I think it is an OK name, but it is sooooo popular, especially around where we live. I just can't see us having an Addi G, because there are 3 or 4 others in her school. And all the names I've thrown out he just says "eh". He did mention over the weekend that he likes the name Piper, so maybe we are getting warmer.

    This. I also like Fletcher/Fletch. It was a character on the show Wentworth but I think it was his last name. My second choice would be Samuel because I've always liked that name but my niece is Samantha and goes by Sam so it wouldn't work for me.

    I guess I'll ask for one piece of name advice here. Yesterday I got dh to agree with me that we like 2 syllable names for baby girl. Our daughter is Elise, so that rules out anything sounding like it (Alice, etc.) We already talked about Anna and Emma, and he vetoed Clara, Laura, Scarlett, Marie, Christa, Jenna, Daphne, and a few others. 

    Any my suggestions for strong and pretty 2 syllable girl names?

    I work with a guy whose first name is Brien but he just goes by Fletcher (last name) in daily life. He gets a ton of compliments on it.

    We are pretty set on Cameron John for our son. We will not be telling my husbands family, as his sister is a total name stealer and due a few weeks after me. Personally I hope she has a girl so we don't have to worry about it if the name slips out at some point, she already has 2 boys and a girl so it's not quite as mean as it sounds lol.

    ETA: she has stolen names before.

    I really like Fletcher.  It's not super common, but still not something that people would say "Huh?" To.

    @Courtjack I love Jack as a first name and so does my husband!  But it's already my nephew's name.  I feel weird even using it as a middle name, except it was both of my husband's grandfather's name and his middle name, so figure it's okay!  And I love Fletcher! 

    @Nicknshan I love Declan and Emmett!

    @NicknShan. I really like your -ett names, and love Emmett, and Scott is very nice with it.  We went through some -ett names as well and ended up deciding on Barrett

DH hated a name I liked an always made fun of it, but now he's mentioned it to one of his sisters and a few girls at work and he likes it now.. May be worth a shot!

    @CourtJack I didnt like Fletcher when I first read it, but I think I'm changing my mind. It has all the qualities we are looking for in a girl name and can't think of anything. Different, but not made up. Easy to read and pronounce. Serious but not too serious. I say go with it, especially since everyone agrees bc what's the chance in that ever happening?


    As far as our baby girl goes, we have nothing. Nada.

    This is stupid but I just reread that and it makes it sound like I have two husbands with grandfathers named Jack.  What I meant to say is my husband had two grandfather's named Jack.  I'm sure you all knew what I meant  but I couldn't let it go! 

    LOL jaceyannie - I didn't even catch on! ahha. I think we've established that Jack is an awesome name, though. And back to your original names - I really do like them both! :)

    Thanks! My H actually vetoed it right away when I suggested it, but I brought it up again and after thinking about it he really likes it - so maybe it's one of those "grow on you' names. Who knows!

    So you guys haven't started giving much thought to names? Or just can't agree on any?

    Fletcher was our boy middle name! It's my paternal grandmothers maiden name. She passed away when I was pregnant with DS1, but I didn't think of using it! Since this baby is a girl we aren't using it and I'm a little sad about it. I love Fletcher!

    I don't think Sean is dated at all. My friends nephew born last week is Sean Richard and I think it's adorable!

    I wanted all these things in a girl name, too!! So I was set on Dylan for a girl because I thought it was so pretty but still different and kinda cool.  But then we found out we were having boys and then I though, "eh, not bad for a boy, either!"
