Charlotte stopped breathing normal today, grunting for air. I live 7 min from the ER, and by the time I got there, holding her upright and patting her back getting inermitnemt breaths, she was grayish and barely breathing. They grabbed her from me and yelled for a crash cart. It was the absolute worst moment of my life. She was intubated and we were transported by ambulance to children's hospital downtown Chicago. Stil RSV positive, but that are checking for other problems as well. Please, for those of you the pray, please pray for my little girl!
So sorry you're going through that, I would be terrified. Stay strong for your LO! Great job bringing her in, she's in good hands! Sending positive thoughts.
Thinking and Praying for you guys, I hope they quickly find a diagnosis and start you guys well on your recovery in a fast manner. Please, please keep us updated.
Praying for your your LO and you! Hopefully they can figure out what is wrong and hoe to best treat her. Thinking of you, can't imaging what you are going through!
I am so sorry you both are going through this. I can't even imagine what you must be feeling. Your LO and you will be in my prayers all day. Please keep us updated.
While this could all be related to RSV, the fact that she made it through the worst days and then relapsed makes them think there is something else going on. Going to be checked by neurologist. Shouldn't have started rolling over at 2 weeks and is too strong, plus the bad reflux-trouble with feedings. Going to checked for dystonia and hypertonic in relation to cerebral palsy and do a MRI on her brain.
They tried to lower ventilate settings yesterday but ran into problems. She desatted down to 22% and then the CO2 went up too high. Respiratory rate was dropping. They got her stable and then it happened again later, but not as bad. They left her settings the same over night and she did good, besides one of her IVs clotted and they had to re-stick her this morning. It's so hard to keep it together, but I know I'm in the best place possible. ENT can't see her until we get her off the ventilator. Doc said one hour at a time. We are trying to think that way, but it sure is difficult at times. It's even more crazy that this is the weekend we conceived her last year. Thanks for all the prayers. I'll continue to update when I can.
Oh, poor sweet girl! It sounds like she's got a great team of doctors. We will continue praying for her (and for you too! I hope you have some good support in town and are able to take care of yourself as well!)
Re: Prayers Please
Thanks for all the prayers.
Sending good juju vibes your way and hoping baby Charlotte makes a speedy recovery.
will the ent be able to confirm if it's RSV coming back around or is he/she more just ruling out other possibilities?
