@susykat77 - Thanks.  I go Thursday for my fluid ultrasound and calendar review of medicines.  I'll let you know what I'm on after that.

I am already taking a round of stuff every evening.  I had preeclampsia the last week of my 1st pregnancy and had gestational diabetes (barely failed the 2 hour glucose test .. but failure = failure).  So, I was sent to my PPC to review my blood pressure which is still on the high side of normal.  Since that can impact success, I'm now on blood pressure medicine and we are working on the dosage (started at the bare minimum which had no impact).  I also had to do the glucose test again, and had the same barely failed status.  So now I'm on medicine for blood sugar as well.  I sighed to my RE nurse, but she said the silver lining is that if I stay on that medicine and get pregnant, I likely wouldn't have to test my blood sugar 4x a day like I did before.  I told my husband tonight, I'm already taking a bunch of stuff (also BCP, aspirin, and prenatal vitamin), and I don't have my fertility meds yet!  But, I'm willing to do whatever to increase my chances of success.

Try to find something that can occupy your time on the trip (sudoku puzzles, reading, sleeping).  Hopefully, you can think of something to help take your thoughts away from the anxiousness.

My FET will likely be March 8 or 15.  I should find out more Thursday.

@MR449 - Does your clinic refer you to a specific pharmacy?  My clinic uses a pharmacy out of Chicago, and while the medicines are super expensive, they did give me some discounts.

@AshleySchulte87 - My first IVF, I told my boss b/c we had a close and supportive relationship.  However, I picked the earliest appointments for the bloodwork  so most people didn't notice until the days I was out for egg retrieval and transfer.  I'm doing FET this time and I have a new boss, so I just told him I'm "having a medical procedure" and the timing wasn't quite set, but would be in the first two weeks of March.

@knottie1432834683 - OMG.  That's about all I can say.  I feel horrible and admire that you already have a sense of humor about it.  That just means it will be an even greater story to tell in the future (I find things get funnier when aged).  I hope you do get the positive news out of that.

@mtpbadger - Sorry for that delay and frustration.  My first RE wasn't a fan of hysterscopy, but my OB had already had me do one.  If you don't know anyone who has had one, just go in with the expectation that it isn't a pleasant experience.  It is my least favorite medical procedure I've had done. Hopefully, if you set your expectations on it you'll feel better than I did afterwards.  (Of course, mine could have something to do with the fact that the technicians seemed so
incompetent with the machine as I was on the table with the legs spread and hips tilted upwards).

  • @mtpbadger  when is your hysterscopy?  I went in on Friday and they still see "things" not really sure what they are seeing so I need to have my hysterscopy too.  I'm having it on Monday.  Just a another hoop to jump through, I guess.

@stranzm  When you had your hysterscopy did they put you to sleep? I am going under light anesthesia, but hearing your experience sounds awful!

@sassysd7 - good luck on your egg retrieval. Wishing you a speedy recovery and lots of good eggs and embryos!

  • @stranzm my coworker had one before she started her IVF and has briefed me that it is not a pleasant experience, expect to be in pain after and definitely use any pain meds provided. From what I have heard and read I am hoping I will be put under!

@knottie1432834683 that totally sucks you still have to go through one! Mine hasn't been scheduled yet. Bc of my insurance my REs office can't do it and it has to be done through my provider. She sent everything over to my OBGYN on Thursday so if I don't hear anything by tomorrow afternoon I will give her a call to follow up. Thankfully I love my Obgyn and she has a really great relationship with my RE. It just stinks since my RE probably would have already scheduled me for one and here I am still waiting for that initial step to happen.

@AshleySchulte87 I haven't told my boss anything other than I am dealing with something medical and may have unexpected appointments for blood work. Most of my monitoring appointments I have been able to do early in the morning and either make it to work on time or a few minutes late.
  • @Knottie1432834683 - No, I wasn't put out.  I don't want to get you anxious, but just set your expectations low for the experience :)
  • @Knottie1432834683 If you have to get a hysterscopy get iv sedation, you should have a choice. You don't want to be awake.

  • yay @sassysd7 that's great news!! Are you doing single transfer?

AFM- we got some good news and some bad news this week. The bad news is my AMH is really low - 0.63. The nurse said since I'm "young" (31) it will probably mean we'll get fewer eggs but the quality will still be ok. I'm pretty frustrated that this hadn't been checked before now. If we had this info we wouldn't have wasted our time with failed IUIs!!! Good news is my partner's SA showed decent morphology, around 5%. That's good for us, it's previously been lower.

Other good news - we got accepted into our clinic's success or refund program! We weren't sure we would. They also said they would do dish fertilization, which is pretty shocking --- I thought for sure with my partner's morphology they would tell us we'd have to do ICSI...

Also good news: we told my partner's parents what is going on...and they're being really sweet and supportive! They even offered to help us pay for things if we get into a rough spot! So nice and unexpected!
  • @MR449 thank you!  We are so relieved. I actually want to do 2. With my age though, 24, I am pretty sure my RE will fight us on this decision. We will be doing ICSI by the way.  My DH had low numbers on just about everything.

That is amazing that they're supportive. My in laws would never be supportive. I'm trying to decide how we'll tell them.  Probably throught a text message since they never want to talk or participate in any functions.

  • Hey guys. I think I need to read every day to keep up with all your posts.... I had my retrieval today. 10 retrieved. I was hoping for more but am happy they got some. Of 16 from last time 6 made it and then 3 were ok after PGS testing. Hoping we have a few this time too.
  • Hi, all! I had introduced a while back on the January IVF, but I got so stressed about our cycle that I tried just following along with others and not posting. **child mentioned** This was my 3rd round of IVF. My 2nd round I got my BFP, and we now have a 2.5 year old son. He was our only blast (I'm a poor responder). Anyway, we tried again last month. This time I responded well to the meds, and we got 13 eggs! Found out the next day 7 fertilized. Then on day 3 I got a call from my RE. All 7 embryos had gotten some sort of fungus and all 7 arrested. That was a week ago. Devastating.

Anyway, I'm waiting for my period to start. I'm 10 days past retrieval, and I've already bit the bullet and ordered all new meds for IVF round 4! Hoping to get my protocol once period starts, hopefully this week, but I would assume ER at the end of the month some time.

@mr449 sorry for the bad news, but the good news it great, having a supportive family throughout this process means the world! My DH has low morphology as well, our clinic does ICSI as a standard, so that is what we are doing.

AFM: we received the finally tally for most of the meds - all the IVF process related ones - with the military discount we also get it was lower than I anticipated. We still have to get blood thinners and something else )maybe steroids) bc of the Celiacs. We will place the order on the 15th. We go for a visit with the doctor tomorrow, just to go over a few questions. We are expecting to start the meds around 22 of Feb. I'm super nervous that it is not going to work and find myself second guessing it often. The acupuncture treatments have been great for lowering my stress, I wish they were not so expensive so I could go more often!

  • Hi all. Bit of a lurker and with a FET nearing thought I'd finally join the chat :) Found it hard to share much during the journey! ***loss mentioned***

Three natural miscarriages (in a row over 6 mos), followed by three freeze-all cycles last year to bank...resulted in 4 normal PGD embryos. Transferring the top graded single embryo on Sunday. Starting progesterone in oil tomorrow. First attempt at getting pregnant in a year...hoping all we needed was a PGD boost to weed out the old eggs :) we're great at getting pregnant and awful at staying that way. Super nervous! Wishing lots of frozen embies and BFPs to the group!!

  • @sdbride05  - welcome!  Happy to hear about your upcoming FET! Really interested in your journey as we seem to share a lot in common.  Can I ask why you decided to go with Single Embryo over 2?  We have 6 normal embryos after PGS and are trying to decide whether to transfer 1 or 2 and go back and forth. Appreciate your advice!

@sassysd7 - congrats and how your embryos keep growing!!

@brooke888Wed157297- I'm so sorry. That really sucks and must be devastating. I know you must be frustrated and heartbroken - my thoughts are with you.

@MR449- sorry about your results but at least you can go forward with a plan now.  And great your in-laws are so supportive (especially financially)!  It can really ease the burden.

AFM - MC mentioned.  Had my hysterscopy today and despite the awful experience I had earlier this week with all the bleeding, there was still significant products of conceptions retained in my uterus and so the procedure was much more complicated and longer than they anticipated.  Now I'm worried that they went too far the other way and I'm going to have uterine scarring. I hope not!  I have another saline soon secluded later this week to see how I'm healing and if we got everything.  Doctor is unsure if FET is still on for March 4.

  • @sdbride05 I completely understand where you are coming from.  We had 5 losses over 11 months--obviously getting pregnant was not my problem.  We were only able to get tissue results from one loss and it showed triploidy.   We went to IVF in November.  RE believed losses were due to poor quality.  During retrieval we had 18 eggs, 15 mature, 12 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts and 3 tested normal.  I had a FET on 2/3 of a single embryo and I got a super faint positive yesterday that is a bit darker today.  I am on a completely natural cycle--no hormones, but we have added baby aspirin in the morning everyday and I inject lovenox (blood thinner) at night.  Fingers crossed.   I'll be thinking of you.
  • 10 are fertilized!!! We will know sunday how many made it to final stage and for testing.freezing.

  • Hi Ladies! I have taken a very long break from this forum and social media...about 5 weeks. I think the last time I posted was in early January. Since then there have been hundreds of new posts. Not sure if I'll ever be able to catch up. I felt like I needed a little break from my infertility struggles. It also helped that I'm currently enrolled in a class for my MBA program. It made the last few weeks go by fast.

Over the last month I was on birth control. AF came yesterday, so I will be going in for my US/labs on Friday. I'm ready to start this FET cycle. Although, I feel very uninformed. I have no idea what my protocol is. Hopefully they'll fill me in on Friday.

Good luck to all upcoming retrievals and transfers! Looks like lots of eggs are being fertilized! Woohoo.

  • Hi ladies! Just joining the group after my IVF consult yesterday. Started birth control and have a plan that puts my transfer at the end of March. Only transferring one embryo per the recommendation of my RE. Freezing the rest (hopefully there will be some to freeze - and that I won't need them ) Fx for all of us this cycle!

  • Happy Thursday all! Sounds like those of you that have had your ER already got some great numbers!! FX for those that have already transferred that these ones are little sticky beans!

I have to admit, I haven't been on here as much lately just because I'm a little jealous that most are moving forward (although REALLY excited for you all and have been cheering you on still) and I've been at a standstill since my mock transfer last week, finding out there may be possible scar tissue and being referred for a hysteroscopy. Finally heard back from my obgyn and we have a telephone appointment tomorrow morning to discuss it in more detail. Unfortunately, she just moved clinic locations and isn't doing any surgeries right now so it will have to be with someone else in the practice, which I'm a little bummed about. My RE's office called this morning and officially cancelled this cycle...boooo. I'm really hoping I can get the procedure scheduled within the next 1-2 weeks.

@knottie1432834683 how are you feeling a few days removed from yours? Any updates on the repeat saline sono? Hopefully they got all the "junk" out yet didn't take TOO much out! That is a fear of mine as well!

Looks like I will most likely be popping over to the March/April IVF board but will continue to follow this thread and hope you all have success!!

  • yay @capps42613 ! it probably feels good to have your meds and schedule all sorted out!

still waiting for period to arrive so i can start birth control...

Having a crap day today. I'm getting super anxious as we get closer to starting this IVF process.

Today I woke up to FB being flooded with a pregnancy announcement and well wishes for a close family member, I really wish they would have warned me. Just to add on the fun, I asked my friend if she was pregnant, bc I knew she was and knowing is so much easier than letting the wonder eat at me. I feel like I'm the lucky amulet, hang out with the infertil girl, you will get pregnant.

I'm feeling so aweful about how jealous I feel today. My brian is just asking over and over why people who are fortunate enough to have other children just can't wait until after it is our turn?! And then I think how aweful that thought is and can't help but think we are going to be punished for such mean thoughts.

Blergh, why does this have to be so hard??!!

  • @mtpbadger Sorry to hear you have to be bumped. I know it's hard, but I'm glad they are taking steps to make sure you are healthy! FX for you that things will get resolved quickly.

@rachd110 Your nurse will hopefully be there to go over everything with you. If not, they should call you to tell you everything. I keep telling everyone this, but ask lots of questions! It's their job to make you feel comfortable.

AFM: Had my second lab appointment this morning. My cyst is still there but still inactive, so yay that. TMI here but I'm super blocked because of the meds so the US hurts with them pushing trying to see my follicles! I broke down and bought a coffee just so I could get my tummy moving again. I am going to be taking Colace 2xd until this is all done.

Did anyone else feel like they just had no appetite while on stims? I've barely eaten any dinner in two or three days.

  • @vssbrm Please don't feel bad - we all have weepy and/or rage days.  That's what your support system is for. I do not believe that you will be punished for negative thoughts (in a cosmic karma sense), but try not to let it eat at you for too long in a healthy body sense. Let yourself have a good cry (or journal, or throw something breakable, or call someone who will listen to a rant.) Then take a deep, deep breath and know that your turn is coming. We're here for you!

  • @Knottie1432834683 -  Hope you get good news ... but what I hope even more than that is that you get a successful result this time (whether this month or next).

AFM:  I am a go for March 15 FET.  I went through my medicine schedule and it is a LOT less than a fresh cycle.  I knew it would be, but wow, it was refreshing to see.  I can't remember who asked what meds I would be on (this board is active!).  Here it is:  Lupron, Dexamethasone, and E2V on Tuesdays/Fridays only.   I'm already on aspirin, metformin (due to my glucose result, but the nurse interestingly said they've had a bunch of random pregnancies now that the new RE makes everyone take that test and some need prescribed this), and labetalol for my blood pressure (which continues to be on the high side of normal).
  • Hey ladies just dropping by! I see many of us are making things off the list! Having a schedule is always so reassuring. Jealousy is OK and a natural reaction. I battle it all the time. I usually talk it out with my hubby so I can feel better.

My transfer is tomorrow yay. I'm looking to transfer 2. It's at 8am. I'll be doing bedrest Fri and Sat. I'm so excited.

  • @sassysd7  Yay! So excited for you and wishing you all the best for you transfer!

AFM- I had another saline sono today after my hysterscopy and surgery on Monday.  Unfortunately, my uterus is  still not clear.  They are pretty sure that its my uterus healing from the procedure on Monday but they don't want to do the transfer until they are certain I'm done bleeding and its completely clear.  So...unfortunately my transfer has been pushed back 2-3 weeks, and maybe longer.  Next steps, come off the birth control for 5 days, and do another saline sono in 2 weeks. If at that point its clear, then we can proceed with the FET.   I'm mostly ok with it- I would rather be certain everything is ok than have them transfer the embryos and risk it.  So not sure I'll be a March transfer anymore, but I'll stay on here and support you all!

@mtpbadger  - I'm so sorry to hear your news!  But looks like we will see each other on the March/April boards!

@gingerbride - I'm thinking of you and really hope this cycle works out!

@stranzm - Excited that you are a go for your transfer!

  • Hi everyone!! Geez! it feels like it's been forever since I last posted. I had to lay low for awhile and just focus on other things since I'm still in somewhat of a holding pattern. I can't even really say when my FET will be now because I'm still waiting on AF!!! I've had every indication it was going to show and then nothing!! Big FYI for anyone that abruptly has their cycle cancelled in the middle of injections...your body literally goes crazy! For the last 3 weeks I've been happy, sad, cranky, mad, tired, hungry, bloated and extremely irritable!!! Ugh! I feel like I'm on the tail end of this crazy emotional rollercoaster but I've stopped trying to anticipate what is going to happen next because I just don't know!!
Anyways, through it all I've been lurking and keeping up with everyone and I have to say it is great to see everyone else making progress!! Everyday someone posts about their BFP which means there's one less person continuing to suffer through the agony of infertility so Yay! To all the new people WELCOME!!! Sorry you have to be here but this is a great place to share and feel supported on this crazy journey! To everyone else Hiii!!! :-) I'll do my best to post more and catch up with you!
  • Hi everyone, I'm a long time stalker, brand-new poster.  My wife and I are in the middle of our first round of IVF.  I had my ER today (24!) I have OHSS after the stim cycle so it's a good thing we chose to have PGD/PGS but at the same time the waiting is killing me!
  • @stranzm & @susykat77  Looks like we'll be cycle buddies. I'm tentatively scheduled for 3/18 transfer (give or take a few days depending on AF arrival).
