@thaisac1 I'm curious to see what mine is. I'm so glad that you haven't had any other problems since your last scare, fingers crossed for healthy babies for all my April mamas!
Stupid quote box. @amadorRose Super cute! Sprocket was never like that when we got Gadget. He was super concerned with her well being only if he thought we weren't looking. They were both up every time DD1 got up when she was first home, but that only lasted a few days. After that Sprocket decided to sleep in a different room and Gadget would just bury her head under a blanket and go back to sleep. They were completely unimpressed with having a newborn.
The pre-teen in me feels better about my life knowing most of you regulars are still on the "cool kids hang out on the bump" plan like me! Seriously, my emotions lately are that of a hormonal teenager, especially when it comes to being needy. I need to cut this shit out! @elasticheart13 I will totally wear pink on Wednesdays, which is a big deal for my mostly black or super dark wardrobe!! @AmadorRose all the feels with those puppy snuggles!! Too cute!
@sprocketsngadgets I think it's because she's a female...we had her spayed recently about 3 months short of when she would've started her first heat cycle. I'm trying so hard to be patient but I'm considering putting her in an obedience class if she doesn't snap out of it. She was so obedient before but now she's all about being stubborn and independent. We need work on the leash anyway, so it would probably be worth it. She doesn't realize how big she is and I absolutely need her to listen when I redirect her once baby gets here.

Gadget is definitely more into DD1, probably because she's a she. She also has no idea how big and powerful she is. We were having huge leash issues until we got a her a gentle leader. It took a few days for her to get used to having something on her face, but the change was dramatic.
My dog is driving me nuts...we decided to put the puppy's cage in our room last night to see if it would help her adjust (it did - minimal whining, yay!) and every time she made a peep Athena got up and stuck her nose in my face like, "Mom! Mom! She's awake! She needs us - wake up wake up wake up!" It was adorable but it got old quickly. She also laid outside the kennel until puppy fell asleep after we went potty in the middle of the night, so I couldn't even be mad about the cold nose. What is she going to do when a baby wakes her up crying every hour or two? Also, posting a photo because they're cute and my dogs are my babies until April!
Don't wanna sound arrogant but I totally vote for an exclusive Facebook group for the active members of our BMB. Tough luck if you wanna join and haven't participated in our gazillion threads.
This. Not everyone can be part of the sisterhood of shade.
Also, I had my GD test last Wednesday and have heard absolutely nothing, so I'm assuming that's a good thing? My doctor's office doesn't usually call if nothing is wrong.
I am emailing my newborn photographer to let her know what kind of shots we are wanting. I want to get one shot with SO's guitar incorporated into the shot but what I really want is my baby girl surrounded by flowers! Look at how flipping cute these photos are (not from my photographer, I found these on google images):
@yodiggity I really wanted to do something like that if I had a girl, but with lilies, since she would be named Lily. Not the white ones, but red ones.
And now I'm going to have to remember to buy a bunch of irises and try and do that bottom flower shot myself. Yay for having a brand spanking new white coverlet and a white swaddle already
So I just finished my appointment with the midwife and my glucose test. 2 hours later, no GD woop woop and I've lost 9 pounds in a month. But baby is huge. My fundal height measurement was 31 cm (I'm 31+2) so he's in the higher scale I fear. Can't wait for the growth scan next week and to see baby again in the ultra sound. Do you guys get any growth scans at this point to estimate baby's size?
I feel sick after all that sugar.
I get a growth scan every month up until 37 or 38 weeks. Dr. says baby corresponds with gestational age measurements but the head circumference is a week ahead...ouch?!

I have a Pinterest board dedicated to newborn photography I want to emulate. My photographer is going to murder me, for sure.
@ladylolly89 Had mine 2 weeks ago and haven't heard a peep either. I'm currently in the waiting room at the doctor's for my regular checkup, so I'm hoping the lack of follow-up meant all was well also. If not, that's a little irresponsible of them to let a patient go 2 weeks with a potentially serious condition that they should be dealing with... So in my head everything is sunshine and daisies.
I was wondering why you guys need to wait for this long to get a response on the glucose test? I get an immediate response as soon as they've taken the blood. I literally just sit there for less than a minute and get a "your numbers are perfect, here's a bandage"

My lab does a finger prick that gives the pre GTT reading then after the hour is done they draw labs not another finger prick. By the time the lab processes the blood we get the result usually the next day or so. We don't call patients with normal results in our office either but we tell them that ahead of time. If we did we would have to hire more people because it would take wayyy too long. So at least in my case no news is good news

I was told they use multiple labs companies to process the samples, depending on the patients insurance. Some are very local, some use overnight shipping, some pick up only once a week from their office, so the lead time is based on the way the lab works. Some are 2 days and some have a turnaround of about 7.
Guys, guys, how could I forget this!?? Happy Pancake Day!! I'm off to make DH and I some awesome crépe with ice cream.
I am unreasonably excited by Paczki Day (the Chicago Polish equivalent), considering that I didn't even know it existed until about 5 years ago when I moved here! Waiting on my lunch companion to be ready to go grab ours!
74 new posts since I checked yesterday! Holy cow! I also vote for a smaller/exclusive FB group. That's why I avoided the early one - too much actual info on FB for just anyone random from the Internet. I feel much safer after having talked with the regs here for so long.
DH bit the bullet for us and put DD to bed in her big girl (twin) bed last night while I was at Bible study, since I've been lazy about moving her. She woke up once (3:45), got out of bed and then *panicked* when she realized she couldn't get back in. Calmed her down, went back to bed and she stayed in her big bed until I went to get her in the morning. She's currently playing with her blankets/stuffed animal instead of sleeping for nap, but hey, she's still in bed at least! Minor trauma FTW
Also, she could not look more tiny sleeping in that giant bed. Or more grown up. Ugh.
So who is going to step up and make the Facebook group?
I was about to step up to the plate (because it's lunch and I have time!), but apparently you have to add at least one friend to the group at the get-go. And since nobody from my actual friends list qualifies... no joy. Whomp whomp

@AGK2015 I'll PM you and you can add me (I'm on lunch too).
@AGK2015 was nice enough to get us set up with a group I'm not sure if we need to add people as friends to add them to the group? That's an option (you can PM with your facebook name), or it looks like there is also an option to send the invitation to your email (you'd need to PM with your email).
Alrighty, ladies! Group is created. I've left the privacy settings as "Secret" so it's not searchable on Facebook; send a PM and we can add you via email address (@AEG84, myself, @allaire314, and I'm guessing @AK118 have the same power). You can add friends from the Bump once you're a member, if any of you have already connected via Facebook.
I think I'm having phantom smells....I smell brownies. There are only 4 people on my floor and no one is admitting to having brownies. Either someone is holding out or I'm losing my effing mind.
When I came back and saw posts about the Facebook group I got that terrible middle school feeling of being left out if I didn't speak up quickly! I PMed you @AEG84

Ha, I felt the same way! I have to wait until I get home to double check that I'm searchable by email on Facebook. Dumb middle school internet blockers. The Bump isn't blocked yet...only a matter of time!

I felt the same way! I definitely waited too long with my last BMB and I didn't get added to the Facebook group. I wasn't going to make that mistake again

Not sure whether you actually need to be searchable or not; it gives us the option of just entering an email address to send an invite; I'm only seeing links come up to profiles as people click through and become members. You should be good without having to adjust any privacy settings.

They look so sweet.

As a heads up, mine rhymes.
