Who was it who was thinking of personalized M&Ms for their shower (I'm way too lazy to scroll back in the thread)? Looks like Groupon's got a $40 for $20 deal on them today, if it's still an option you're considering and you haven't placed the order yet!
@fbanke42 I don't understand the issue people have with pregnant women gaining weight. Umm hello, I'm growing a person! I won't go so far as to say that pregnancy is beautiful because I think that line is crap, but there is something incredible about knowing what my body can do. I got crazy fit on my 9-month mock deployment and that felt good, but not as good as knowing that my body is strong enough to support another life. That's fucking awesome and anyone who thinks differently can suck my ass.
@AmadorRose Or why they have to belittle a pregnant woman's size to make themselves feel better about their weight. Seriously, it's dumb. What's your body doing? Just going through the basic functions. What's mine doing? GROWING A HUMAN BEING. Mine is on overdrive and NEEDS to gain weight and not be a toothpick, so how about you deal with your body confidence issues in an adult manner instead of being a pile of scum and taking it out on a pregnant woman who is already emotional and having to deal with major body changes in a short period of time.
Idk know why people think pregnancy just opens them up to being able to make comments about your appearance. I really think that your body will gain what it needs to when and where it does to produce a healthy baby. It's bullshit for people to make you feel bad about something you just shouldn't, especially when there's so many other things during pregnancy to make you feel like shit. Plus the mommy guilt train is coming in full speed so it will only get worse.
I would probably throw down my phone and try to fight someone who wanted to tell me otherwise. Hahah.
So this is TMI big time but I'm sharing anyway in case this has happened to anybody else. I have been on pelvic rest for a few months and I had a super hot and heavy dream last night. In that dream I was having an orgasm and I opened my eyes and I was having one in real life. I was just laying on my side sleeping then it happened at 2am. After googling today apparently it's a real thing during pregnancy and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again because it made me cramp pretty bad after for about 3-4 minutes. I just woke up and told DH and he said he's impressed lol
This has been happening to me quite a bit although I'm not on pelvic rest (I'm not sure what that is). It scares me every time actually.
So I've been stalking the current month boards for birth announcements this whole pregnancy and February is making me rage-y. What part of chatter free do you not understand?!?
All of you Lush fans: what should I buy? I'm planning on hitting up the mall today, and I'm thinking about spending some of my birthday cash on some of the Lush stuff. I'm thinking the beer shampoo, but what else?

Mask of magnaminty!! When you put it on, it's like and air conditioner was turned on your face!

Celestial moisturizer, sympathy for the skin and mask of magnaminty!

It depends what you like I guess. I like some of their soaps and things that just smell good and are nice to use. I also like some of their lip stuff like the lip sugar scrubs and lip service is really good for really chapped lips but it's super thick so it needs warmed up a bit before you can put it on.

Oh, and March has another baby. Not under the best circumstances, but it means we're getting close!

I missed it! DH and I just drove home from the party we were at . The only good thing commercials, game, etc that I've seen is lady Gaga's badass national anthem . She killed it!

My mother keeps telling the players to play nice and stop being dicks. I keep laughing my butt off each time she tells them to behave and just play football.
Crafty moms- I am making a receiving blanket which sounded easy enough. I just need to sew on the binding and now I'm nervous haha. I feel like the satin binding is going to be difficult to work with the baby flannel. Should I just bite the bullet and pin the whole damn thing or am I over thinking it?
Can I AW for a second? Before I knew what Sunday I booked my appt for was Super Bowl Sunday, DH and I had our maternity photos done. They won't be finished editing for a week, but I had DH snap a photo in one of my outfits to share with my A16

Sewing is not my expertise but I always pin everything first so I know where to adjust before I actually put it through the machine. I hate ripping seams!
@kalanieileen you look stunning! And although I've only ordered from Lush once, I'm totally sold. More than worth the money, IMO.
How have I never heard of Lush? (Answer: I just looked it up and the closest one is 45+ minutes away). Apparently I need to take a trip to that mall. It's the one with a Motherhood too.

@kalanieileen Jealous! Still trying to figure out when and where we'll do ours. DH's aunt is a photographer and he's asked her to do them... Only she hasn't responded back yet. She's terrible at texting/messaging people back.

Our closest one is way further away, I just happened to discover them when I was up in Chicago last year and fell in love. Something about that place..
So DH just took the credit card away from me.. I got a big lecture on finances and responsibility and budgets and I must admit I felt like a little girl whenever I replied "but it was on saleeee", "the stroller is a steal, I had to get it" and "yes, I had to buy yarn for 100$, it was 30% off"
I agreed to stop buying baby stuff for this month and now I have to wait with the last small items until next month. I wish I could have everything ready immediately but DH is right, we can't spend all the money on baby and stay without food for the rest of the month

Um...I bought a Boba baby wrap off Amazon and DH made me cancel the order before it shipped It was $40 and he said we don't need to spend that money now and have it sit around for 2 months. I really don't get it, considering that we will need to buy it eventually, why it mattered if I spent the $40 now or in 2 months, I don't know...whatever. I have seriously bought basically nothing for this kid. She has one NB sleeper that says "Little Sister" I bought the day of our a/s and a 2 pack of sleeping gowns. That is it. I got a few packs of size 1 diapers this weekend at my sprinkle and some Amazon gift cards, a few other smaller things from the Price is Right baby shower game, but otherwise it is either not purchased or a hand me down. DH better watch out, because my credit card is seriously burning a hole...

So far I've only bought a couple of outfits (because I got a gift card), some swaddles, a second diaper bag (one for each of our cars, since we always forget to bring the darn thing back in), a few jumbo packs of diapers, and a baby carrier (also bought with a gift card). I got a few outfits at Christmas from my ILs and my brother, but that's it. I don't feel like I'm prepared at all.
I have hardly purchased anything either. Just a few clothing items, a couple packages of disposable diapers to have on hand because I got an insanely good deal (we're primarily using cloth) and some things for the nursery (though most of the furniture in there is either from other parts of the house or was given to us, so I guess it's not that bad).
I just ordered the baby book last week. No toys yet (other than a little activity gym from Christmas) and his closet is rather sparse. I keep telling myself to just wait until after the baby showers at the end of the month, but I want to buy allllll the things NOW. The nesting is real.
@AmadorRose Very real. At least I got my yarn. I have fallen in love with a pattern called the Pineapple Wave when translated from Danish and I will be making a baby afghan as soon as the yarn arrives. I think it's called puff stitch ripple pattern. That will keep me busy until next month. I love the colors I got, woop woop
Besides nursery items (crib, mattress, a handful of decorative items) I have purchased exactly one NB outfit to bring DD2 home in. That's it. I guess we should buy some diapers at some point. Sorry kid 2, you get world's okayest mom
