Hi ladies, I just returned from u/s and bloodwork and officially have my ER scheduled for this Saturday! Things are moving faster than expected but I'm excited and nervous all over again!
I'm loving seeing the positivity here! Thank you all for being amazing, keep smiling! FX for the next few transfers and retrievals!
---Trigger warning---
Me: 31 DH: 27 TTC since April 2013 Two cancelled IUIs in Aug and Sept '15 due to low motility/count IVF round 1: January 2016 ER: February 17, 2016; 9 retrieved, 7 mature, 7 fertilized Day 5 Blastocysts: 5 BB, 1 AB, all normal from PGS FET date: May 11, '16; transferred 1 AB embryo First beta: May 23, '16: 998!! Second: May 25, '16: 1648 EDD: January 27, 2017
@twomommiestobe way to be an overachiever geeze!!! That's fabulous news!! @jerseygirl856 yayyyy!!! Awesome to be one step closer! I Just had my retrevial yesterday....it was breeze! Enjoy the down time to relax and watch tv!! I'm waiting for our fertilization report today!
@MelD17011 thanks! I was expecting to go in on Monday but apparently I'm responding faster than expected. @laur2444 thanks and fx you hear good news today too! How are you feeling today? Are you able to resume your normal activities?
@Jerseygirl856 I feel fine today! A few twinges here and there but for the most part just a little sore. I took the day off but def didn't have to. Walked on the treadmill this morning and am at target now lol yesterday was def a down day though! My stomach was tender every time I moved! Also felt extremely bloated.
Ok ladies I got my BETA result and it was over 200! I got my Big Fat Positive! Thank you for all of your support and kind words. FX for everyone in this group!
Ohhhhh yayyyyy @selena2016!!!!! I'm SO happy for you!!! First bfp of our group!!! @alexiskiriluk just got my call! Of the 14, all 14 were mature and 11 fertilized already!! They are going to watch the other 3 b/c they still might be able to be frozen by day 6. But at this point looks like I will have something to transfer Monday!!! I'm so excited and of course my husband is at work and didn't answer so I'm telling you girls first!
@laur2444 that is amazing!!! So happy for you!!! Have you decided how many you are going to put in?? Such wonderful news!!! Monday is just around the corner!!!
@alexiskiriluk my doctor will only do one this first round. I think after a few rounds if no luck he will do more than 1 (but I'm being optimistic and this isn't going to be an issue! Lol) @MelD17011 such a relief right?! All I kept thinking last night was what if all 14 eggs were duds and I didn't have anything to work with! (I'm soooo pessimistic)
@MelD17011 yippee for the 4, that's very promising
Married: 8/29/2009 TTC- since we got married (off and on) TTC with focus: Since July 2015
Currently had 2 rounds of failed IUIs, failed TI monitored cycle December 2015: Starting 1st IVF cycle January 2016: Retrieval March 2016: Pending Transfer (I have 3 PGS tested embryos waiting for a womb) April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.
@alexiskiriluk I think so. I did a no pills start and I only stimed for 11 days so I think I'm the first. I hope it's a good sign for everyone in the group!
@MelD17011 yes it's our first round of IFV. We tried 8 rounds of medicated IUI. I have unknown IF but its most likely endrometreosis.
@Selena2016 yayyyyyyyyy!! First bfp! Can you do a quick reminder of your story so we can remember?
Update. As of now, DW has 16 follicles they said are growing at the right speed. I know we won't end up with 16, but I'm super excited bc she had low AMH from the endo on her ovary!
RE DX for me: Anovulatory cycles/Mild PCOS RE DX for DW: Endometrioma on left Ovary. Reciprocal Ivf Feb 2016. DW eggs and I am carrying. EDD: 10/27/16
@twomommiestobe Reminder of my story: I'm 34 DH is 36. We have been TTC for over 4 years. I have never been pregnant. I have unexplained infertility however there is a good chance I have undiagnosed endrometreosis. We did 8 rounds of medicated IUI with no success (it was covered by insurance). This is our first IFV (all OOP)I did a no pills start (I had a month delay because of a cyst they thought it may have been the BCP) 11 days of follistin and menapur. Trigger was Lupron. I had 20-22 follies before ER 16 eggs retrieved, 11 firtalized 7 survived to day 5. I transferred 2 fresh 6AA embabies. I have been on estrace and endrometrine since ER and I'll be on those for the whole first trimester. LOL that was long - sorry I'm so excited!
Im thinking positive happy thoughts about everyone in this group. I'm looking forward to celebrating lots more BFP's!!!
So, this is my first post on any baby-related message boards, though I have lurked on a few from time to time. We've been TTC for a little over a year now. I've had an HSG, laparoscopy, etc. - found one tube is partially blocked, other than that "unexplained infertility" (a frustrating phrase, as I'm sure you ladies understand). DH (hope I'm using the right shorthand lol - my husband) has low testosterone and sperm count and was on meds to boost it, but got blood clots ( apparently a really rare side effect), so rather than do IUI as we'd hoped/planned, we're looking at IVF or ICSI.
We have been looking around, trying to find a place with good results and lower costs, but so far, my RE seems pretty good in terms of experience and price. However, any recommendations would be welcome - we'd spend a few hundred travelling to save a few thousand, if that sort of thing is possible. Other than that daunting aspect, the amount of hormones needed for IVF is SCARY. I know everyone is different, but can you ladies with experience give me some idea what to expect? Do you have to give yourselves shots? Will it be like your period, only worse? I am also debating whether to do single or multi (package) IVF. It seems a lot of people end up doing multiple cycles (*respect to you ladies*), or maybe that would allow for a frozen cycle for kid #2 (assuming I'm lucky enough to get to kid #1 lol). My AMH is 1.8, which apparently means I have lots of eggs, as my RE put it, so at least that's some positive news. I'm also curious about timing - I know you get meds to shut down your cycle, then meds to stimulate egg production, so when in your cycle does all this start? Any more fun to look forward to, besides meds, ultrasounds, blood draws, egg retrieval, hopeful eventual implantation/CP? Fingers crossed - here's hoping we all get what we want at the end of this roller coaster ride TTC.
@princesssabert welcome to the rodeo!!! Lol this is my first IVF cycle, although I have done 3 medicated IUIs with injectables. Although this stuff definitely isn't easy, I do have to say it could be a million times worse. The shots aren't bad at all, you get so used to them you feel weird when you don't have to do them. The morning monitoring is a pain in the neck, especially if you have an inflexible job (I'm a pharmacist so this has been a nightmare). This was probably my biggest stressor throughout the whole process.....not knowing when you needed to go back for appointments until the last minute and trying to get coverage etc. i really didn't have too many side effects from the meds, just occasional headaches that were somewhat intense, and on and off bloating. I had my egg retrevial yesterday and it was a piece of cake since you are asleep, so no complaints there. Transfer will be the next step, so we'll see how that goes. Started my progesterone injections tonight, which honestly I worked myself up for and didn't even feel it when my husband injected it (although I did get blood all over my new Vineyard Vines white shirt lol). I gave myself all the other injections though for stimulation and trigger. The one piece of advice I would give you though is be prepared....this takes over your life. It's literally the only thing on my mind 24/7. I feel like every decision I make is based on when I'll have to be at the RE office again, or give myself a shot, or be in the middle of a cycle so I can't go away for the weekend. It gets exhausting sometimes. Just keep reminding yourself why you are doing it though, and know that everyone here understands what you are going through and can sympathize with you!!!
@PrincessSabert welcome and good luck. I think @laur2444 did I really nice job summing it up. I have never been part of a community online before my IVF experience and I found it extremely helpful.
@Jerseygirl856 I'm doing ok with stims, I don't think I really feel any side effects so I'm worried it's not working. Hoping for some progress when I go in today.
@princesssabert welcome, and I also agree that @laur2444 did a nice job summing things up. This is my first time doing IVF and this board has been awesome!
@StephanieWalstromCan't wait to hear your results. Your the one that transferred 1 girl that went through PGS testing, correct?
Married: 8/29/2009 TTC- since we got married (off and on) TTC with focus: Since July 2015
Currently had 2 rounds of failed IUIs, failed TI monitored cycle December 2015: Starting 1st IVF cycle January 2016: Retrieval March 2016: Pending Transfer (I have 3 PGS tested embryos waiting for a womb) April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.
That's me! I only had one embryo that was normal and it's a girl. My husband will be home soon and I can call then! Sweating some bullets. Two shots of tequila poured, one for each of us if it's negative 2 for "daddy" if it's positive. I'll update you! I did a hpt on Tuesday (5dp5dt) and it was negative. I don't suggest it. It ruined my mood for the week. Hold out for blood tests if you can. Safe yourself the hysteria of a false negative. My clinic does not recommend early testing. Well, actually this post was interrupted by my doc. I'm not pregnant.
@StephanieWalstromOH NO! I'm so sorry for the bad news. Lots and lots of internet hugs. Enjoy that tequila.

@StephanieWalstrom I have been been looking for your update all day. I am so sorry!!! Sending you a big hug!! I hope you have more than one shot of tequila poured. A big hug from Michigan!!! Xoxo
