It is only 9am and I am already having a day It is torrential downpouring on the one day I choose to blowdry my hair so its having a freak out and frizzing everywhere, I am VISIBLY sweating in my crotch - it seriously looks like I peed my pants and I don't have an extra pair, feels like I didn't even put deodorant on even though I know I did, found out that yes two kids in DD's class at daycare were moved up to the 2 year old classroom (her classroom is the "older ones") while she has not, even though she turned two over a month ago and one of the other kids that got moved up is YOUNGER than her (her teacher wasn't even aware my daughter was older, and says she doesn't know why she wasn't moved yet) so there is a note in to speak with the director when I pick her up, and upon speaking to my friend who's shower I'm hosting has 7 MORE people to add to it (originally was going to be around 30...went up to 45 when I did invites this week...and now its over 50...I CAN'T AFFORD TO FEED 50 PEOPLE, especially since I am making ALL the food myself because its cheaper that way).
At that point I would ask her to help, since it's her shower. That's kind of a lot to ask if you.
DD is a little sick (cough, low fever, runny nose) so it's a snuggle morning. She decided this is the best way to watch Mickey Mouse. She pushed up my shirt, is rubbing my belly and repeating "Bruh-ver, bruh-ver". Be still my heart.
@fbanke42 Her mom is going to be able to fly in the for shower so she asked her about helping and THANKFULLY she is more than willing, yay! Looks like she'll be taking over the mimosa bar (thank God, because I seriously feel ackward buying alcohol pregnant and champagne is $$$$) and she says another friend can take over the yogurt bar. SUCH a load off my back. Its definitely going to be a challenge cooking up the food, but at least I don't have to worry about the financial side of it as much!

@imrachellea they were hand me downs from her cousin and she loves them - she thinks they're dogs. I (luckily now that we're having a boy) gave up early at putting her in "girl" jammies. They just don't make enough fleece options with a zipper... And ain't nobody got time for snaps
I'm with @imrachellea today should be cancelled. Yesterday I had severe cramping on my left side with the pain getting so severe I ended up throwing up in a trash can in my classroom. Pretty sure I have scared the poor little grade 3's for life. Called labor and delivery and they told me to come right in. They did an ultrasound and baby is perfect but they think it maybe kidney stones (I've never had one in my life!). It honestly felt like baby was on its way and I'm only 30 weeks! I had to stay overnight and they are still not sure what it is. They let my amazing husband stay the night which was really nice. I'm so relieved that baby is safe and sound in there but I could use a bit of a break. I'm exhausted. I just want to go home, crawl into my king size bed and snuggle with my husband and our dog.

She has several pair of "boy" pajamas, I didn't care, as long as they didn't say "Daddy's Boy" or something like that on them. For some reason, and maybe this is an UO or FFFC, but I don't have an issue with putting my girls in "boy" clothes (again, so long as it doesn't say something specific about them being a boy) but I have an issue with putting a boy in girl clothes. I would struggle putting a boy in pink unless it said something like "Real Men Wear Pink" as several of my middle school boys are proud to say lol.

@mrstrax If I do buy clothes before I know the sex, I tend to buy gender neutral or stuff from the "boy" section. Most of that stuff is super adorable and works on boys or girls anyways, like you said. Everyone called DS a girl regardless... I had only one person say he HAD TO BE A BOY because he had a blue pacifier clip. Girls can totally rock blue. That was actually going to be part of the color scheme if we had a girl this time.

I raged so hard before Christmas trying to get new fleece pj's for DD1. Not a single pair of "girl" pj's had adorable animal face feet but half of the "boy" ones did. When given a choice she always goes for her green and grey striped with polar bear feet over pink and sparkly.
Last night I had finally had it with DS being a terror about going to bed, so I laid him down in his crib, gave him a blanket and pacifier, then promptly exited the room. I told DH not to go in the room, no matter how much he cries. DS cried it out for a few minutes and then went to bed. He woke up at 2, and all I did was the same thing. The rest of the night? Nothing! I've always hated letting him cry it out at night, but it was becoming terribly apparent that what we were doing just was not getting through to him. Here's hoping I can now get him set on a bedtime with this method.
SUCCESS! I've convinced my sis and mom to change the pre-baby shower to a post-baby sip and see. It's the first grandchild, so all-out cancellation was never going to be an option. A sip-and-see is still pretty cheesy, but it seems less gift-grabby than a shower, and knowing that I'm not going to have to give up one of my last two free weekends before April to drive 4 hours for a party I don't really want is such a load off my mind!

The hardest thing ever for me right now. I'm planning a celebration / sendoff for my 17 year old as she leaves for Job Corps next week Tuesday. I thought I had more time with her but they bumped her up in the system so she's going sooner. I'm so very happy for her and at the same time I can't stop crying. I didn't think it would be so tough to see her go.

Totally agree. DH and I let DS pick whatever toys he's interested in and try and let him pick out clothes. He's only 18 months old, so he can't do a ton of picking, but it's really awesome when he takes a shine to something. Some of his favorite toys are "girly things," like a vacuum, broom, hairbrush... He adores cars and blocks, but he's also super sweet with baby dolls. When it comes to clothes, he always goes for green or blue. Pretty much he goes for ANYTHING blue. Once he's old enough, I'm going to stop picking most of the things out for him and let him pick out everything.
It seems like you should be able to get out of it...

I had jury duty a little less than 4 months after DD1 was born. The fact that I was breastfeeding and needed to pump was not a good enough excuse to get me out of it and I ended up getting picked for a jury. It sucked, but they gave me pump breaks as needed. There was also a woman that was 35 weeks that was on the same jury as me, she couldn't get excused either. Just cross your fingers that you don't get chosen, but it's definitely better to get it out of the way now.

Or do they really put you on a special list if you do it so you don't have to do it again for a few years?

In all seriousness though, if you make it to the case you can always say you have strong opinions about "insert whatever they ask you about" and they usually won't want to use you for each case. Last time I had jury duty it was a statutory rape case and a shit ton of people flat out said they feel like if you're in court you're more than likely guilty. None of them were selected...

If you move during that time you're out of luck and may get another summons. If you aren't called to appear for selection after doing all the registering stuff, it's still considered completion. DH got summoned right after me, but lucked out and never had to go in.

He dragged out what should have been tops a three day malpractice trial to 7 days. @AK118 At that point in your pregnancy, you can get a doctor's note probably. Would you it take you over an hour to get to the courthouse and/or unreliable or bad traffic conditions? You aren't supposed to go an hour or more from your doctor/hospital once you get that far along.
