@elasticheart13 this one tries to push her butt through my abdominal wall several times a day, so I push back until she resituates! I don't have a round bump either - I didn't realize that was a thing, I thought they were all cute and round!
My belly has developed a very weird shape. It almost looks like LOs butt is pressing on my belly button giving my bump a bump. My belly button is very close to becoming an outtie aswell and DH stares at my bump like it's an alien.
That sounds interesting! Can't wait to see it on HDBD
DH FINALLY realized what I've known for ages... We can't afford to move out. We have way too many monthly bills and there's nothing we could move into for $500 or $600 a month that's a two bedroom.
...and he just told me that he got the studio job that starts in the middle of next month, which pays more per hour, has more hours, and a better chance for raises.
Did a trial run with some saltines this morning.. now eating my first meal since breakfast yesterday - ChicFilA soup and a grilled cheese. Oh please be nice to my stomach!
Wait... ChicFilA has soup? I probably only eat there like once every five years, but this is shocking! (How're you feeling now, btw?)
I'm going to go with the assumption that you all have normal friends. Normal friends who share normal things with you... I do not... This is the caliber of normal I get to deal with on a daily basis lmfao. Also it's creepy as hell.
I'm so damn depressed now. I had to throw away most of the food in my kitchen because these disgusting flour bugs got all into everything again! Why does this keep happening to me? I'm not a dirty person! Now I have no food and don't feel like I can even keep food in my house. Has this happened to anyone else? Damn Oregon!
@RoseShadow873 We had major problems with ants for a while, and we kept the place pretty clean. We went to Costco and bought muffins, put the muffins on the counter, and then went out to do more errands. We came back to the muffins infested with ants. Apparently the container had a tiny hole in it, which is how they got in. I was on maternity leave when that happened, so money was really tight. I totally cried over losing a dozen muffins.
@RoseShadow873 we used to get them in WI. I have airtight containers for my flour and sugar, etc, and freeze any extra in a ziplock bag. DH thought I was crazy but we've never had bugs here in Texas. Those little suckers will get into anything and everything if you let them.
@fbanke42Man we get regular ant infestations throughout the year here as well. Luckily they don't seem to ever go for the kitchen! They love to drown in the dog water.... But I know the feeling about the lost muffins. In Hawaii ants ate an entire box of gourmet chocolates I received in the mail that wasn't even opened yet. The bastards chewed through the plastic to get the chocolate.

Weevils! Those things are terrible, and breed quickly. You have to refrigerate absolutely everything that has any type of carb or sugar. Airtight jars help, but mostly I just immediately open up my sugar/flour/cookies and put them into a jar or Tupperware, then put that directly into the fridge. It makes for a crowded fridge, and is not the most convenient thing in the world, but the infestations can get HORRIBLE. They will find a way into your rice, pasta, granola, everything. Better to just immediately put your food where they can't get to it, spray your pantry area down with Raid, and only store cans or other completely sealed containers there.

Yes! I didn't know either until I looked online today for somewhere DH could get me quick chicken noodle. They have that and chicken tortilla. The chicken noodle was seriously tasty. I managed to eat a bowl of soup, a grilled cheese sandwich, and a full glass of sprite today without any of it coming back up! Success. Must have just been one of those shitty 24 hour bugs, but I'm so so glad it's over now.
DS went to daycare today and told his teacher "My mom is very sick. There's something wrong with her stomach." His teacher said "Oh no, is Lucy okay?" And he said "No, I don't think so!" Totally freaked his teacher out.. she messaged me this afternoon to make sure everything was alright. 5 year olds certainly have a way with words.
@RoseShadow873 Every person I've ever loved with thought I was insane for keeping my flour and sugar in the freezer. That is exactly why. I'm sorry you're going through this >.< Until you can get the bug situation handled (you'll probably have to call an exterminator unfortunately) keep all your carby things in the fridge or freezer. Fair warning though, bread goes bad faster in the fridge. Pasta and rice are fine though
@RoseShadow873 Ugh. We had flour beetles bad in one of the apartments we lived in a couple years ago and it took a lot to finally get rid of them. I ended up lining all the cupboard cracks with borax and thankfully didn't have to use harsher chemicals. Now all flour coming into my house begins with tenure in the freezer, which has helped a lot. Recently we've had more come in in the kitty litter, and I see one occasionally, but I have no idea where they are hanging out cause they're not in the pantry (thank god)... I need to borax/diatomaceous earth everything.
@Knottie9983816 apparently we have the same type of friends because those creepy teeth dolls keep showing up in my news feeds. I'm over here like...NOPE! Sorry baby teeth...you will probably hit the trash. Speaking of...what does one do with a tooth after toothfairy duty? Is it acceptable to trash them, or would I be a bad mom for doing so? I didn't keep hair from DD's first haircut either, so maybe I suck as a mom?!
I previously mentioned that I have a neighbor who is freakishly weird about his lawn. He would mow it like every other day, even if it was still short and after he got done raking leaves he would rake them more. We even saw him walk up to a leave on his yard and pick it up because that was the only leaf there. It snowed quite a bit last night and just as my husband was about to go outside and shovel our neighbor snow blowed our driveway!! That was really nice of him. My husband went next door to thank him and try to give him some money and he said no just buy me a beer this summer. lol
@briterfly84 I don't have any of my own childhood hair or teeth and if I did...wtf would I do with it? And if my parents had kept them, what would we do with the hair and teeth of 6 kids when my parents inevitably end up in a home or pass away?
@Knottie9983816 I just read about your trouble with pumping on another thread and didn't want to derail it, but I'm curious if you want to explain. The idea of pumping weirds me out after growing up milking cows, but I have to return to work so I don't have a choice but to get over it. If DH ever watches me pump, I'm going to moo the entire time.
While DH is out of town, the dog is sleeping on the bed with me. Which is very sweet and comforting, except that last night something spooked him and he started barking and shaking at quarter to 1. (I think it was just my stupid computer that likes to turn itself on and off occasionally, but last time he was like this, it was because our garage was broken into.) Couldn't fall back asleep until after 4 when DH called me back and checked the security footage to make sure no one had been snooping around.
Today's extra large cup of coffee is not going to do much to make up for 4 hours of sleep

@AmadorRose I exclusively pumped, and actually felt like it was less of a pain than nursing. You learn to just ignore the pump and just sit there and do whatever. DH watched me pump all of the time. He only made fun of me when I was eating and pumping at the same time.
I ended up EPing too for various reasons. I hated it. I EPed around the clock every 3-4 hours and I had supply issues. It was so stressful for me and I dried up about 4 months
@RoseShadow873 They really don't hurt. You just need to make sure you have the right size flange and that the suck and speed are not too high. Pumping constantly sucked, but feeding DS was so simple... Anyone could feed him, but he was still getting breastmilk, so we were saving a lot of money on formula. If you breastfeed and pump every now and then (or only at work), then pumping probably won't be bad. I just hate how some moms treat exclusively pampers like crap because they're not feeding baby straight from the breast. Even pediatricians sometimes don't know how to talk to exclusive pumpers, since they ask if baby is either breastfed or bottle fed (meaning formula). When you tell them exclusively expressed milk, they all were thrown off guard and acted like they didn't know what the heck to write down. The question should be "is your baby getting breast milk, formula, or both?"
Maybe this is more crafty than random, but I'm posting here anyway... Helped out my non-crafty BFF who is hosting our baby shower with chalkboard signs... I love how they turned out!
No we aren't condoning underage drinking - the shower is co-ed "a baby is brewing", and being held at a local brewery. Pretty excited for February!
@allaire314 So...totally surprised that your first name is Miranda. For some reason I just assumed your name was actually Allaire...which is unique, but in a totally acceptable way IMO. And I just kind of called you that in my head when you posted. Now my whole world is altered.
...by the way, those signs are ADORABLE. And reminded me that I could totally bust out some of those for my friend's shower! (I made one for DD's first birthday and it was super cute).
@allaire314...LOVE the signs and DOUBLE LOVE the theme! Such a cool idea for a co-ed shower. Also, I envy your artistic skills. Mine look like DD drew it!
Thanks ladies!! I suppose I should have blocked out our names - internet security and all... but oh well... now you guys know so much about me! Ha ha ha.
@briterfly84 you could always use transfer paper! Not sure how it would do on chalkboard, but I don't see why not... just print up what you want, transfer the image and trace!
@AEG84 we will definitely have to do an arts and crafts day! We will make leggings, and wood burn and chalkboard!
I need a nap. DD got sick last Tuesday with a head cold which transferred to me. Now DH is sick too. On top of that last night I put DD to bed and 3 hours later she wakes up ( I had literally just gotten into bed) screaming and crying. I go in to see whats wrong and find her completely naked and a giant pee spot on her bed. So I get her cleaned up and redressed. Then start cleaning her bed, switching the sheets, etc. Get finished and go to get her back in bed and I find her cuddled up in bed with DH. It was so adorable but since DH has a fever she couldnt stay, so I moved her back to her bed, which of course upset her and she cried some more. Finally, when I get back to my bed, I lay down and get comfy, and DH wakes up and gets sick. That continued throughout the night and I woke every time. I'm exhausted and this little sleep is not helping my own cold go away.
I haven't been too interactive on here lately-- but I am always reading or lurking. its so crazy to see the "how many weeks to go" section on the home page get smaller and smaller
It is only 9am and I am already having a day It is torrential downpouring on the one day I choose to blowdry my hair so its having a freak out and frizzing everywhere, I am VISIBLY sweating in my crotch - it seriously looks like I peed my pants and I don't have an extra pair, feels like I didn't even put deodorant on even though I know I did, found out that yes two kids in DD's class at daycare were moved up to the 2 year old classroom (her classroom is the "older ones") while she has not, even though she turned two over a month ago and one of the other kids that got moved up is YOUNGER than her (her teacher wasn't even aware my daughter was older, and says she doesn't know why she wasn't moved yet) so there is a note in to speak with the director when I pick her up, and upon speaking to my friend who's shower I'm hosting has 7 MORE people to add to it (originally was going to be around 30...went up to 45 when I did invites this week...and now its over 50...I CAN'T AFFORD TO FEED 50 PEOPLE, especially since I am making ALL the food myself because its cheaper that way).

I was trying to figure out why I liked the front of your sign so much, and then I remembered what our wedding invites looked like...
I'll have to dig up a picture of the signs I made for our wedding. Chalkboard for LIFE!
I feel you, @TKaiser91, between illness and grouchy kiddos, this mama could use a nap too.
